Dominic forcefully massaged his temples.
After a long while, he called his assistant in. "Draft a divorce agreement. Give Seraphina two hundred billion dollars."
The assistant nodded and stepped out.
Dominic sank back into the sofa, leaning his head back and closing his eyes, his face dark and sullen.
Meanwhile.
Seraphina was in her office organizing data.
Things had been chaotic lately, but she had never let her work slip.
Her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen. It was Dominic.
Setting her pen down, she answered, her tone completely even. "What is it?"
Dominic spoke first. "Seraphina, I agree to the divorce. I will give you two hundred billion in cash. You and I both know I cannot liquidate five hundred billion right now."
Seraphina didn't say a word.
Dominic continued, "But I can transfer a corporate asset worth one hundred billion to you. Combined with the two hundred billion, that's three hundred billion total."
She leaned back in her chair, staying silent for a long time.
She knew Dominic was telling the truth, and this time, he was genuinely showing his sincerity.
Three hundred billion was still two hundred billion short of her original demand, but it was practically the absolute maximum limit of what Dominic could physically give her.
Even if she dragged this out, he wouldn't be able to offer more, and he might even end up offering less.
She pondered for a few seconds before speaking. "I accept your proposal."
Dominic seemed to let out a sigh of relief, his voice flattening out slightly. "Then I'll have my assistant prepare..."
"Wait," Seraphina cut him off. "I also want Westside Research Inc."
The line went completely quiet for a moment.
Dominic's voice sounded genuinely surprised. "That company is already bleeding money. I was planning to shut it down. Are you sure you want it?"
"I'm sure."
Seraphina's tone was resolute.
She knew all about that tech firm. The foundational tech was solid; they were simply missing a competent lead engineer.
Dominic replied, "Fine, it's yours."
Taking a deep breath, he opened the study door and walked downstairs.
Cynthia was standing under the awning right outside the villa's main entrance.
Hearing his footsteps, she turned around, wearing her usual faint, gentle smile.
"Dominic."
Cynthia took a step forward, raising her hand to link her arm through his.
Dominic shifted his body slightly, dodging her touch.
The smile on Cynthia's face completely froze.
"Dominic, why have you been treating me like this lately?"
Dominic looked at her, took a deep breath, and gave her a brief summary of the evidence Seraphina had provided regarding her involvement.
Cynthia stood rooted to the spot in shock. "I... I..."
Dominic's expression was laced with crushing disappointment. "Cynthia, you knew about the plot to force Seraphina into my bed all those years ago, didn't you?"
"I..." Cynthia visibly panicked. She wanted to explain, but it seemed impossible to justify.
Dominic's face grew even colder. "We both need to take some time to cool off. You should go. Let's not see each other for a while."
