"Why? Why... my babies!"
Cynthia buried her face in his shoulder, sobbing as if her heart had been ripped out.
"How could she be so ruthless? Dominic, she's a mother herself! How could she... how could she..."
She choked on her own words, hyperventilating through her tears.
Dominic rubbed her back soothingly, pure hatred burning in his eyes.
Just then, the hospital room door was shoved open.
Caleb limped inside, his face pale with fury.
"Are you really still this blind, Cynthia? Seraphina did it on purpose. You're carrying Dominic's heirs! Why would she ever let you give birth? She wants the entire Lockwood fortune saved for her own daughter!"
Cynthia's complexion grew even paler.
"I never wanted to fight her for anything. I just wanted my babies..."
Caleb fueled the fire. "You might not want to fight, but she's never going to let you go. I even looked into Tristan Spencer beating me up—that was entirely her setup."
"She's a vicious sociopath. There's nothing she wouldn't do."
Cynthia's eyes widened in feigned terror, and she covered her mouth with her hand.
Sitting at the edge of the bed, Dominic's expression darkened into something deadly.
After a tense silence, he stood up. "Caleb, stay here with her. I need to make a call."
He stepped out into the hallway, pulled out his phone, and dialed his security team.
"Pull the security footage from the Brighton Chambers parking garage from today."
A few moments later, a video file hit his inbox.
The footage showed Seraphina's car backing out as Cynthia approached from the side. Suddenly, the vehicle jerked forward, accelerating directly toward Cynthia.
The angle was tricky, but the swerve looked deliberately calculated.
Regardless of the details, the video unequivocally painted Seraphina as the aggressor ramming her car into Cynthia.
Dominic stared at the short clip, absolute fury radiating from his eyes.
When he answered, she quickly briefed him on the situation.
"Lockwood's legal team has suddenly turned incredibly hostile," Mr. Zimmerman said. "Everything we negotiated is on hold. Are you absolutely certain she threw herself at your car?"
"Positive."
Seraphina didn't hesitate. "I was barely moving. She jumped out from the side and hurled herself at the bumper. I stomped on the brakes immediately, and when she fell, there were at least two feet between her and my tires."
Mr. Zimmerman asked for a few more details, which Seraphina provided with sharp clarity.
"Ms. Sinclair," Mr. Zimmerman said seriously, "if we can successfully reconstruct the scene based on your testimony, it'll heavily favor our case."
"Then let's reconstruct it."
"I took photos of the scene and reported it to the police, so there is an official dispatch record. If you need me to, I'll go back to the site myself."
"Understood," Mr. Zimmerman replied. "I'll assemble a team and head to the site to gather evidence."
Seraphina agreed and ended the call.
Leaning back against her sofa, she exhaled slowly, her gaze turning cold and sharp.
