Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 269

As soon as Ethan Harrington finished speaking, applause flooded in from every direction.

"Ms. Sinclair is truly incredible."

"This is what a real philanthropist looks like."

Praises rolled in wave after wave, and the crowd looked at Seraphina Sinclair with sheer, unadulterated admiration.

Standing on the periphery, Gideon Cole stood tall and imposing.

His eyes tracked Seraphina's figure, filled with a deep sense of pride.

That girl, even when buried in ruins, had managed to grow from the ashes into a towering, unshakeable tree.

Not too far away, Dominic Lockwood stared at the number on the projection screen, his eyes wide. It took him a long time to process what he was seeing.

In that moment, he felt as though he were truly looking at Seraphina for the very first time.

Cynthia Ross was drowning in resentment.

She clenched her fists so hard her knuckles turned white, her eyes flashing with vicious intent. After a long moment, she forced her emotions down and leaned closer to Dominic.

With a smile plastered on her face, she resumed her gentle demeanor. "Dominic, Seraphina is quite clever. All these years, she's been relying on the Lockwood family to support her, yet she took all that money to build her own reputation. Now, she gets to play the great philanthropist, and the Lockwood family gets zero credit."

She sighed, feigning hesitation before acting like she just couldn't stand to see Dominic treated so unfairly. "Sigh, it's a very calculated move, but her intentions are completely twisted. After all, she's been using the Lockwood family's money for over six years, yet your family gets absolutely no recognition for it."

In the past, the moment she started sowing discord like this, Dominic would follow her logic without question.

But this time, Dominic didn't say a word.

He didn't even look at her.

His gaze remained glued to Seraphina, his brows knitting tighter and tighter.

He knew better than anyone exactly how much money he had given Seraphina over the years.

Two thousand five hundred dollars a month for household expenses, with a little extra thrown in during the holidays. Added up, it was barely a few tens of thousands a year.

Even if she never ate or drank, the money he gave her couldn't possibly add up to a hundred and twenty million dollars.

As for where that money really came from...

He didn't want to admit it, but he had no choice.

Seraphina possessed the ability to earn that kind of wealth all on her own.

He had completely and utterly overlooked her brilliance.

Seraphina frowned and instinctively rubbed her forehead, offering a somewhat helpless smile.

She had never intended for any of this to be dug up. In her mind, there was nothing worth bragging about.

Ethan seemed to read her mind. "You were being misunderstood that badly, and you still didn't plan on explaining yourself?"

Seraphina glanced at him and smiled softly. "Yes, Master, you're right."

She pulled her gaze back and turned to face the crowd again.

Suddenly, a single person in the crowd began a slow, deliberate clap.

"Well done, Ms. Sinclair! A hundred and twenty million dollars over ten years—now that is true charity! Not like some people who use charity as a smokescreen just to put on a show. They barely donate a fraction of what you did, yet they can't wait to sing it to the whole world."

Seraphina frowned.

Who was this? Weren't they deliberately trying to start a fight?

While it was true she despised Dominic and Cynthia's hypocritical posturing, this was a charity event. It shouldn't be weaponized, and it certainly shouldn't be used as a tool to attack others.

So who on earth was speaking with such venom?
