Upon hearing Seraphina's proposal to launch a materials company, every single one of them agreed on the spot and immediately began delegating tasks.
They scouted locations, sourced raw materials, and handled the bureaucratic red tape. The entire process moved at lightning speed.
Before long, Orca Research Materials was officially established.
Seraphina didn't make a big fuss over it. On opening day, the team simply shared some takeout boxes in the office to celebrate.
Standing in her new workspace and looking out at the Northport skyline, she let out a long, contented sigh.
Meanwhile, at the Lockwood Estate, Dominic remained entirely consumed by his drunken despair and heartbreak, leaving Seraphina with absolute peace to focus on her goals.
One afternoon, Seraphina sat in her office at Orca Materials, staring down at three elegant invitations laid out on her desk.
The invitation from the Energy Resource Project addressed her as "Expert Sinclair."
The invitation from The Institute of Nuclear Research addressed her as "Ms. Sinclair."
And the invitation from Applied Science read "Special Assistant Sinclair."
Three separate invitations, begging for her presence at The National Science & Technology Summit.
Seraphina arched an eyebrow.
To the outside world, these appeared to be three entirely different individuals dominating three distinct sectors.
But in reality, every single one of these prestigious titles belonged to her.
She RSVPed to all three organizations, confirming her attendance.
Of course she was going. It was the perfect opportunity to subtly promote Orca Materials to the nation's elite.
...
The day of The National Science & Technology Summit quickly arrived.
When Seraphina pulled up, Julian was already waiting for her by the entrance.
Seeing her approach, he quickly walked over to meet her.
"I knew you'd show up today."
He took the folder from her hands. "Come on, I'll be your bodyguard today."
Seraphina couldn't help but laugh, and the two walked side by side toward the grand hall.
Just then, she caught sight of a familiar figure near the doors.
Dominic.
He was dressed in a dark grey suit, looking significantly thinner than the last time she saw him.
Not far behind him, Cynthia was rushing to keep up. She lunged forward, trying to grab his arm, but Dominic smoothly shifted his shoulder, dodging her grasp entirely.
Without breaking his stride, he walked straight toward the front row.
