Seraphina took a deep breath, forcing herself to remain composed.
She had gathered enough intelligence on Gideon's position; now she just needed to get there and join him.
As she tucked her phone away, her gaze fell on the couple sitting across from her, and a frown tugged at her lips.
Neither of them spoke, still clearly caught up in the emotional fallout of the phone incident.
Cynthia had angled her body away, playing the part of the wounded victim.
Dominic sat with his lips pressed into a tight line, looking like a man who knew he had messed up but was too proud to apologize.
Seraphina's frown deepened. She couldn't stand the sight of them.
She looked out the window, replaying the argument in her mind. Dominic might have declared Cynthia innocent based on a clean phone.
But Seraphina didn't buy it for a second.
A clean device meant nothing. Anyone truly devious wouldn't be stupid enough to leave digital evidence on their primary number.
She pulled her phone back out and quickly tapped through a series of commands.
A moment later, Dominic glanced at his screen and noticed his connection had completely dropped.
The service bars had turned gray. He tried refreshing the network, but nothing happened.
Frowning, he rebooted the device, yet the screen remained stubbornly disconnected.
"What's going on?"
He muttered, swiping at the display. "I just lost all service."
Cynthia checked her phone as well, finding the exact same issue.
"Mine is dead too. I literally just had bars a minute ago."
Dominic immediately looked up, scrutinizing Seraphina. "Did you do this?"
She didn't even blink. "What does that have to do with me?"
His tone grew colder. "You're the only tech expert in this car. Are you really playing games right now?"
Before she could retort, Tristan stepped in. "We're driving through a remote mountain range. Dead zones are completely normal. You can't just blame her for everything."
Tristan's voice was impeccably smooth and measured.
Dominic's face grew another shade darker.
