He tilted his chin toward the chair across from him.
Seraphina didn't waste time on pleasantries. She pulled out the chair, sat down, and retrieved a folder from her bag, placing it on the desk.
"I've reviewed the contract. The terms are fine. We'll stick to what we discussed on the phone yesterday—you take thirty, I take seventy."
Dominic nodded and pressed a button on his intercom.
"Bring in the final drafts."
Moments later, a legal representative entered, placed two copies of the contract on the desk, and quietly exited.
Seraphina flipped through the pages, her fingertips pausing over a few specific clauses.
"The delivery cycle here states sixty days."
"Yes." Dominic leaned back in his chair. "If that timeline is too tight for your team, we can extend it to seventy-five."
Seraphina glanced up at him.
"No need. Sixty days is plenty."
She picked up the pen from the desk and signed her name on the final page.
Dominic watched her write, his gaze lingering on her profile for a split second before his expression subtly softened.
He picked up his own pen and signed the other copy.
They exchanged the documents and signed once more.
The entire process was strictly business, devoid of any unnecessary movements or idle chatter.
Seraphina closed the folder, zipped her bag, and stood up.
"A pleasure doing business, Mr. Lockwood."
"Likewise."
Dominic stood as well, walking around the desk toward the door.
"I'll walk you out."
Seraphina glanced at him but didn't decline, nor did she thank him. She simply walked out ahead of him.
He followed a half-step behind and pressed the elevator button.
When the doors chimed open, he stepped aside to let her enter first before following her inside.
The elevator car was dead silent as the floor numbers ticked downward.
Dominic stared at their reflections on the polished doors, his features relaxing even further.
The elevator reached the ground floor, and the doors parted.
The lobby had returned to its usual orderly state.
