Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 418

She lunged forward, only to be stopped by the security guard's outstretched arm.

"Ms. Ross, please stay back."

Cynthia clenched her fists, her entire body trembling.

Seraphina slipped into her car and shut the door, completely sealing away the sound of the rain.

The engine purred to life, and the vehicle pulled out of the parking lot.

In her rearview mirror, she watched Dominic standing motionless under the umbrella, his gaze following her car until the taillights vanished into the thick veil of rain.

Seraphina finally looked away and glanced down at the contract in her hands.

Seventy percent.

A genuine smile graced her lips.

Dominic watched until her car was entirely out of sight before turning around and walking back with the umbrella.

As he neared the side entrance, his footsteps slowed.

Cynthia was still there.

She wasn't throwing a tantrum anymore. She was crouched on the ground with her arms wrapped around her knees, her shoulders shaking violently as if she had been sobbing for a long time.

It was a truly pitiful sight.

Dominic stood rooted to the spot, staring at her for several seconds.

He took a deep breath and turned slightly toward his assistant, who had rushed up behind him.

"Go tell her to go home."

The assistant nodded, popping his own umbrella to jog over.

Dominic didn't give her a second glance. He turned and continued walking into the building.

He had barely taken a few steps when a loud, sickening thud echoed from behind him.

Cynthia had tried to stand up and take a step forward, only to sway violently and collapse face-first onto the concrete.

"Cynthia!"

Dominic dropped the umbrella and sprinted over, sweeping her into his arms.

She lay limp against his chest, her eyes squeezed shut, her face entirely devoid of color.

Water streamed down her cheeks, making it impossible to tell if it was rain or tears.

His arms tightened around her.

"Hurry, call an ambulance!"

Chaos erupted. Unwilling to wait for the paramedics, Dominic carried Cynthia straight to his car and ordered the driver to speed to the hospital.

The assistant stood back and watched the dramatic exit, a deep frown creasing his forehead.

He sighed inwardly.
