Cynthia stood frozen in place, her fists clenched tight.
Dominic didn't look back as he strode out of the office.
He took the elevator down and headed straight for the Westside Industrial Facility.
Seraphina had also received the notice.
She packed her documents, slung her bag over her shoulder, and left her office.
Her driver was already waiting downstairs.
She got into the car, leaned against the back seat, and closed her eyes.
The car cruised steadily toward the West End.
As they drove past a specific bus stop, Seraphina opened her eyes.
Outside the window, the sign stood exactly as it had, the street looking no different.
A few months ago, she had been standing right there in the pouring rain.
Dominic had stood in front of her holding a black umbrella, coldly demanding she return the one he had given her.
She had placed it on the ground, and he had callously tossed it into the trash can.
She had stripped off the jacket he'd given her and thrown it on the wet pavement, only for him to pick it up and hold it close.
The freezing chill of that exact moment still lingered in her memory.
Seraphina watched the bus stop disappear from view, her gaze turning dark.
Everything he had put her through truly made him unforgivable.
She looked away, refusing to dwell on it further.
The car sped on, soon arriving at the industrial complex.
The driver parked the car and jogged around to open her door.
Seraphina stepped out.
Dominic was already waiting for her.
Seeing her arrive, his expression softened, and he walked over to greet her.
"You're here."
Seraphina didn't even acknowledge his presence. She marched straight toward the factory doors without sparing him a single glance.
The smile on his face vanished.
He stood there, watching her retreating figure with darkened eyes.
But he quickly masked his emotions, plastering a polite smile back on his face as he followed her.
Just then, the sharp click of heels echoed from behind.
Dominic halted and turned around.
Cynthia stood a few feet away, a faint smile playing on her lips.
His brow furrowed into a deep scowl.
"Why did you follow me?"
She closed the distance between them, her tone eerily calm. "I came to keep you company while you work."
