"Miss, who are you looking for?"
"I..." Cynthia hesitated for a second. "I'm looking for Dominic. I'm his..."
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, but..."
"You can't go in without an appointment." The guard's tone was ironclad. "This is a restricted facility. Authorized personnel only."
Cynthia was left standing helplessly outside the iron gates, watching Dominic's silhouette disappear into the factory grounds.
She gritted her teeth.
Wait.
She would just wait right outside.
No matter what, when Dominic came back out, she would crawl to him if she had to.
Because if she didn't, she truly had no chances left.
Inside the factory.
Seraphina had already arrived.
She stood beside the production line, listening to the technical supervisor report on the debugging progress of the Gen-2 care robots.
The facility manager stood respectfully by her side.
Seraphina nodded as she listened, occasionally asking about key data points in a sharp, professional tone.
As she looked down at the tablet in her hands, a figure appeared in her peripheral vision.
Seraphina looked up and saw Dominic walking in from the entrance.
Her expression immediately cooled, and her gaze dropped right back to the tablet.
Dominic walked straight toward her.
"Seraphina."
Seraphina frowned, looking up at him. "Mr. Lockwood, we aren't that close."
Dominic choked on his words, quickly correcting himself. "Ms. Sinclair."
Seraphina withdrew her gaze and continued reading the stats on her screen, her tone strictly business. "You're here right on time, Mr. Lockwood. I've made some adjustments to the Gen-2 robot's battery module. Take a look."
She handed the tablet over, pointing to a set of numbers and explaining them line by line.
