Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 91

Ms. Lyons stood to the side, her expression unreadable as she watched the scene unfold.

She cleared her throat and took a step forward. "Mr. Lockwood, I'm Ms. Lyons, Lily's kindergarten teacher. During this afternoon's activity class, Lily was wearing high-heeled leather shoes and twisted her ankle while running on the playground."

"The doctor checked it. There's no fracture, but the ligaments are torn. She needs a cast for a few days, and remember to bring her in for regular check-ups."

Dominic nodded and was about to speak when Ms. Lyons added, "Also, the doctor mentioned she is malnourished. Several of her indicators are quite low. You really need to pay attention to her diet. This isn't good for a child's health in the long run."

Dominic's frown deepened.

Having said her piece, Ms. Lyons excused herself and took a few steps toward the door before stopping to turn back to him.

"Mr. Lockwood, it actually hasn't been easy for Lily's mother either. When she came in earlier, her knees were wrapped in gauze. She was limping, clearly injured as well."

Ms. Lyons muttered to herself; she remembered the files stating Lily's parents weren't divorced, yet now, her father looked much more like a couple with this other woman.

And neither Lily nor her father had bothered to ask how her mother was doing.

Ms. Lyons paused before adding, "Another thing—Lily's attitude toward her mother is quite poor. Children are young, and sometimes their words are unintentional, but if adults don't correct them promptly, it will be hard to change when they grow up. I hope you'll take what I've said seriously."

Dominic's expression darkened. He gave a curt nod and said, "Alright."

Ms. Lyons glanced at him, then at the little girl on the bed. She sighed, pulled open the door, and walked out.

She sat on the edge of the bed, gently tucking a stray lock of hair behind Lily's ear. Her voice was incredibly soft. "Don't cry, Lily. You're a little princess, the absolute best. I'll talk to your teacher later and make sure they save a gold star just for you, okay? Once your foot heals, I'll take you to buy the prettiest dress, and you can wear it to school."

Lily sniffled, tears still clinging to her lashes, but a bright light had sparked in her eyes.

She hugged Cynthia's arm, rubbing her face against it. "You're the best, Cynthia... I love you."

Cynthia smiled, looking up to meet Dominic's gaze.

One had laughter in her eyes, while the other gave a slight nod. The silent understanding was perfect.

Lily refused to let go of Cynthia's arm. Cynthia patted her back, murmuring soft words of comfort until the little girl finally stopped crying.
