Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 92

Dominic tore his gaze away from his daughter, staring out at the pitch-black night beyond the window. The deep crease between his brows remained.

He told Cynthia, "Stay with her for a bit," then turned and walked out of the room.

Cynthia watched his retreating back until he disappeared through the doorway, the smile fading from her lips.

Standing in the hallway, Dominic reached up and loosened his tie.

The nurses' station at the end of the corridor was brightly lit. He walked over. "Please check which room Seraphina Sinclair is in."

The nurse typed on her keyboard, then gave him the floor and room number.

Dominic turned and headed for the elevator.

The elevator doors slid shut, the numbers ticking down one by one. He stood inside, staring blankly at his blurred reflection on the metal panels.

In her room, Seraphina had just lain down.

The wounds on her knees were still throbbing. She lay on her side, stretching out her injured leg, just about to close her eyes for a quick nap.

The door was pushed open from the outside.

She opened her eyes to see Dominic standing in the doorway.

Her brow instantly furrowed, her face clearly screaming, *What are you doing here?*

Dominic walked in, stopping about three feet from her bed.

He spoke, his tone completely flat. "I'm here to discuss two things with you."

Seraphina propped herself up on the edge of the bed. She didn't say a word, just waiting for him to continue.

"First, the kid," Dominic said evenly. "You should still be the one taking care of Lily, since you've always done it. I don't have the experience, I'm busy with work, and the nanny isn't attentive enough. The doctor mentioned her malnourishment—she can't keep going like this."

But so what? She couldn't turn back now.

"There's nothing I can't let go of," she said, looking right at him. "The child isn't just mine. As her father, you need to step up and take responsibility."

Dominic's face had darkened to the extreme.

He stared at her for a long time, his jaw clenched tight as if suppressing something fierce.

Finally, he took a deep breath and changed the subject. "Why haven't you signed the agreement yet? What good does dragging this out do you?"

Seraphina chuckled. "Show some sincerity first, Mr. Lockwood."

Dominic's frown deepened. "Is millions of dollars not sincere enough? Seraphina, what exactly do you want?"

"I made it very clear from the start." Seraphina held his gaze without blinking. "A straight down-the-middle split of the assets, or we don't talk at all."
