Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 93

Dominic took a half step forward, his voice as cold as ice. "Impossible. Don't push your luck."

Seraphina leaned back against the headboard, the curve of her lips unwavering. "We're legally married. A fifty-fifty split is completely reasonable. If you think I'm asking for too much, we can take this to court."

Dominic's lips pressed into a thin line. He glared at her, complex emotions surging in his eyes.

He opened his mouth, about to say something else.

The door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.

Chelsea stood in the doorway, holding a shopping bag. The moment she saw Dominic, her expression turned frosty.

She strode into the room, slammed the bag down on the nightstand, and shot him an unapologetic once-over. "Mr. Lockwood, the patient needs rest. It's wildly inappropriate for you to be disturbing her like this."

Dominic frowned.

He glanced at Chelsea, then at Seraphina. His Adam's apple bobbed, but he ultimately remained silent.

Although he had no idea how Seraphina had connected with Chelsea, considering Chelsea was known as Northport's top businesswoman, he had no desire to start unnecessary trouble with her.

He turned on his heel and walked out.

The door clicked shut behind him.

Only then did Chelsea turn around, checking Seraphina's face before glancing at the gauze on her knees. "What was he doing here?"

Seraphina leaned back, pulling the blanket up a bit, and gave her a brief rundown of what had happened.

Chelsea's eyes widened in disbelief. "He is unbelievable. Having some other woman coddle his daughter while demanding you come back and play nanny? How can anyone be so delusional?"

Seraphina just offered a faint smile and didn't reply.

Chelsea sat down next to her, patting her hand. "You did the right thing. He needs to raise his own kid, and the assets definitely need to be split equally. You were always too accommodating before, swallowing your pride and giving in, which is exactly why he treated you like a doormat. It's time to play hardball. Don't give him an inch."

Seraphina looked at her and nodded softly.

It was incredibly sweet.

After three days, the doctor finally cleared her for discharge.

Seraphina sat on the edge of the bed, watching the nurse remove the gauze from her knees and apply fresh bandages, advising her to take her medication on time, avoid walking too much, rest, and return for a check-up in a week.

She nodded in agreement, tucking the bags of medicine into her purse.

Chelsea had arrived early, running up and down to handle the discharge paperwork. After a whirlwind of activity, she shoved a discharge slip into Seraphina's bag and clapped her hands together. "Alright, let's go."

The two women walked out of the inpatient building.

Chelsea started the car, turning out of the hospital gates and merging into the traffic.

Steering with one hand, she said, "Perfect timing. Come with me to pick up Toby. He just transferred to Meadowbrook Academy and is still adjusting, so he insists I pick him up personally every day."
