Unloved Unwanted Unstoppable (Seraphina and Dominic) novel Chapter 95

Seraphina smiled, resting her chin affectionately against the boy's soft hair.

Seeing that her son refused to be held by her, Chelsea sped up. "I'll go pull the car around," she called over her shoulder.

Chelsea hurried off.

Seraphina carried Toby down the stairs and turned the corner on the second floor, only to bump straight into a small figure.

The child was dressed in a neat school uniform with a little jacket over it. One hand was wrapped in gauze, and the cast on her ankle had been replaced by a brace. She was holding her nanny's hand, hobbling forward slowly.

The moment their eyes met, Lily froze.

She stood stunned for two seconds, her gaze locked dead onto the little boy in Seraphina's arms.

Her small face morphed from shock to utter disbelief, and finally, she turned beet red.

"Mom!"

She violently yanked her hand away from Janice's grasp, glaring at the boy in Seraphina's arms, her voice piercing. "Get down! Why is my mom holding you? Get down!"

Startled, Toby shrank back, instinctively wrapping his arms tighter around Seraphina's neck. He buried his face in her shoulder, whimpering, "Godmother..."

Hearing the word "mother," Lily's eyes instantly went bloodshot. She lunged forward, reaching out to grab the boy's arm. "You're not allowed to call her that! She's my mom! Get down right now!"

She yanked hard, her fingernails digging into the boy's tender skin. Toby burst into tears, wailing in pain.

Seraphina's chest tightened. She twisted her body to shield him, using her free hand to block Lily. Her voice dropped low. "Lily, let go."

Blocked from grabbing the boy, Lily stomped her feet in fury, tears streaming down her face.

Chelsea opened her mouth to argue, but ultimately just nodded, turning on her heel with Toby in her arms.

The hallway went quiet. Seraphina crouched down to meet Lily at eye level.

"Lily, look at me."

Still hiccuping from her sobs, Lily looked up at her.

"That little boy is younger than you. Pulling on him that hard could have really hurt him," Seraphina said, her voice perfectly calm. "Was it right for you to do that?"

Lily sniffled, refusing to answer.

"You are not to treat other children like that ever again," Seraphina repeated, the warmth draining entirely from her tone.
