Dominic noticed the woman beside him stand up and glanced over at her.
Cynthia pulled herself together and sat back down.
But her fingers gripped her purse strap so tightly they nearly left indentations in the leather.
She turned her head, grinding out through gritted teeth, "Dominic, how is she..."
Dominic's brow creased as he looked back at Seraphina.
She flipped open the document in front of her, turned her head to whisper something to Julian, and then looked up, sweeping a calm, unbothered gaze across the room.
Her movements were effortless and poised.
Dominic's grip on his pen tightened just a fraction.
After organizing her notes, Seraphina stood up.
The ambient chatter in the conference room gradually died down.
She scanned the audience. Without glancing at a script or checking the prompter, her voice rang out, steady and clear.
"Ladies and gentlemen, the core advantages of Zenith's new power-grid energy project can be summarized in three key areas. First, cost."
"Through optimized manufacturing processes, raw material costs have been slashed to sixty percent of comparable products on the market."
"Second, output efficiency. The energy conversion rate per unit of time is nearly double that of the mainstream products currently available."
"Third, sustainability. While supplying power, this system continuously harnesses natural energy to form a closed loop, eliminating the need for frequent core component replacements."
She looked straight ahead. "This means household users can cut their monthly electric bills in half, mid-to-small enterprises can break free from their reliance on traditional power grids, and remote areas finally have a cost-effective solution to their power supply issues."
Her phrasing was highly technical yet perfectly accessible.
The room sat in stunned silence for a few seconds.
Then someone started clapping, and soon, thunderous applause erupted.
Seraphina caught every single one flawlessly.
She was poised, confident, and utterly impenetrable.
When the final question was answered, the host announced the end of the Q&A, and the applause roared to life once more.
Seraphina gave a polite nod and returned to her seat.
Sitting in the back row, Dominic had set his pen down without even realizing it.
His eyes were fixed on the side of Seraphina's face, his brow heavily furrowed as if trying to process something entirely incomprehensible.
He had never seen her like this.
At home, she was always subservient, scurrying around in an apron.
He had never heard her talk about technology or data, and he had certainly never seen her command a room full of people with such effortless authority.
