When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 124

Chapter 124

“Quit acting. Mr. Bradford doesn’t have time for you tonight. He’s busy with some company right now…” the man said, glancing toward the bedroom.

Heather turned to look, then took a deep breath. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to intrude. Please, carry on.”

With that, she turned to leave, but the man wasn’t about to let her go.

“Hey, don’t go, gorgeous. Mr. Bradford can’t entertain you tonight, but how about I show you a good time

instead?”

Heather struggled to break free, her expression turning icy. “You? Seriously? You think you’re even good enough to hang out with me?”

The man was stunned for a moment, then his anger flared. “Hey, you crazy woman, I…”

But just then, Kason stepped out of the room, frowning at the two of them.

“Let go,” Kason said coldly.

The man froze for a second, then quickly released Heather. “Kason, you done having fun?”

Heather couldn’t bring herself to look at Kason; she needed a moment to reconsider.

Without another word, she turned to leave the room.

But Kason strode over, put his hand on the door, stopping her from leaving.

Heather looked at the door, trapped, and turned to face him since she couldn’t leave.

Kason took in her dressed-up appearance and gave her an unreadable smile.

“So, you dressed up just to see me?” Kason asked.

For a split second, Heather felt a pang of regret, but she kept her composure.

She said, “Well, it seems like you’re busy, Kason. Guess I’ll come back another day. Didn’t mean to crash your fun.”

Ever since she took over Lynch Group, she’d seen all sorts of wild situations. There was no escaping it. If she didn’t want to get dragged down, she just had to go with the flow.

But honestly, she couldn’t stand these chaotic parties when she was off the clock.

With that, she gave him a slight nod and turned to leave.

But Kason kept his eyes on her. “Since you’re already here, why not join us?”

Heather took a deep breath. “Thanks, but I’ll pass.”

Chapter 124

With that, she yanked the door open, not bothering to hide her assertiveness.

Kason watched as she headed toward the room diagonally opposite, his eyes narrowing.

“Kason, who’s that girl?” one of the guys asked.

Kason turned to the group, raising an eyebrow. “She’s from the Lynch family in Halinston.”

“The Lynch family? So that was Ms. Lynch, the CEO of Lynch Group? That woman’s got some serious skills.”

“Yeah, when the Lynch family hit rock bottom, Lynch Group was about to go under. But she clawed her way back. You really don’t want to mess with her.”

“She’s got more tricks up her sleeve than most guys. Why else would she show up for Mr. Bradford tonight, huh?”

“Haha, for real. She acts all icy and untouchable, but who knows, maybe she’s an absolute wildcat in bed.”

Kason raised an eyebrow and let out a low, ambiguous snicker.

He’d seen enough women to always tell the difference.

Tonight really took Kason by surprise.

“You guys stay and have fun,” Kason said.

“Where are you going, Mr. Bradford?” one of the guys asked.

“Are you stupid? Seriously, you need to ask?” another guy shot back.

“Haha, we won’t get in the way of Mr. Bradford’s fun,” someone else chimed in.

Kason smirked, grabbed a bottle from the liquor cabinet, and strolled out in his bathrobe.

When Heather heard the knock, she assumed it was just hotel staff and opened the door without a second thought.

But when she saw Kason standing there with a bottle of wine, she froze for a second, totally caught off guard.

“Mr. Bradford, what are you doing here?” Heather asked, her voice tinged with surprise.

Heather had already taken off her coat and was just wearing a black camisole dress. She was just about to wipe off her makeup and hop in the shower. Never in a million years did she expect Kason to come knocking.

Kason looked her up and down with a flirtatious glint in his eyes, taking in every detail before arching an eyebrow.

“Not going to invite me in?” he teased.

Heather shot him a look, then stepped aside. “Sure, come on in.”

Heather’s room was way tidier than the one next door. Everything was in its place, except for the bed, which looked a little rumpled.

Kason walked over and sat down on the couch. “Ms. Lynch, do you have any wine glasses?”

Heather shot him a look, then walked over to the cabinet and pulled out two glasses.

Kason took the glasses and poured a drink for each of them.

“Cheers, Ms. Lynch,” he said, handing her a glass.

Heather took the glass without a second thought. She was no stranger to the rules of these business drinking

sessions.

“So, Mr. Bradford, are you really considering my offer?” Heather asked.

Kason leaned back on the couch, his eyes lingering on her with a playful smile.

“That depends on your sincerity, Ms. Lynch,” he replied.

Heather held his gaze for a moment, then stood up and handed him a contract.

“Everything I’m offering is right here,” Heather said.

Kason casually flipped through the contract, his interest piqued as he arched an eyebrow.

“Guess you’ve been digging into my background, huh, Ms. Lynch?” he remarked.

“Two years on the job, fifty percent of Lynch Group’s profits, and five percent of my own shares. That’s my offer,” Heather laid it out.

Kason toyed with the contract, his gaze deep and unreadable as it lingered on her. “But you know, this isn’t exactly tempting for me. If you’ve really done your research, you’d know I only take on trouble when I owe someone a favor. So, Ms. Lynch…”

Heather locked eyes with him, calm and collected, then knocked back her drink in one smooth motion, never breaking eye contact.

“Since you’re here, Mr. Bradford, that means we’ve got business to discuss. Name your terms. If it’s within my power, I’ll make it happen,” she said, her voice steady and unwavering.

Kason gave a soft laugh and poured her another drink.

“You don’t beat around the bush, Ms. Lynch. So, if I asked you to spend the night with me, would you agree?” he teased.

Heather wasn’t surprised at all. She pressed her fingertips together. “But I doubt you’re ever short on company, Mr. Bradford.”

“Yeah,” Kason said, getting up and closing the distance between them, lifting her chin with a finger. “But right now, I’m wondering if a powerhouse like you feels any different.”

Heather’s breath caught for a moment, her gaze flickered. “And if I say no?”

Kason smirked, with a hint of disappointment in his voice. “Then sorry, Ms. Lynch, but your contract doesn’t interest me. I’ve seen offers like this more times than I can count.”

Heather was silent for a few seconds, then looked up at him and slowly raised her arms, wrapping them around his neck.

“Mr. Bradford, you’re a man of your word, aren’t you?” she asked.

Kason’s eyes narrowed, his smirk deepening. He held her gaze for a long moment before scooping her up from the couch, his eyes briefly flicking to the contract on the coffee table as he did so.

“Don’t worry, I’m not the kind who just talks his way into bed,” he said.

Silent, Heather let him carry her into the bedroom.

She didn’t want to remember any of the details. Kason knew every trick. Last night, she could barely keep up. It really was her first time. The Lynch family had always been strict: no sex before marriage for their daughters.

But for the sake of the Lynch Group, she and her sister had all broken that rule.

“You’re up?” Titus called from the doorway.

Heather turned to see him already dressed, his eyes shadowed and unreadable as he watched her.

She met his gaze for a second, but flashes of last night’s chaos ran through her mind, making her uneasy. She turned away, her voice rough.

“Did you sign the contract, Mr. Bradford?” Heather asked.

Titus narrowed his eyes. ‘She sure knows how to flip the switch. Last night, she was like… Now it’s all business,’ he thought.

“It’s on the table,” Titus replied.
