Chapter 164

Titus followed Yvonne’s gaze, only then noticing what she was looking at.

He saw Eunice’s stiff expression, but what really made his eyes gow serious was the kid sitting in the child seat next to her.

They were just a few feet away, and the little guy was staring righ back at Titus with big, round eyes.

It was the first real face-off between father and son.

Yvonne noticed the shift in Titus’s expression and turned to look again, finally noticing the little boy sitting next to Eunice. She did a double take, then blurted out, “Titus, that kid looks a lot like you.”

As soon as she said it, Yvonne’s mind went blank for a second, her eyes wide with shock as she looked between the two of them.

“Titus, do you…do you know each other?” Yvonne stammered.

‘Could that kid be…?’ Yvonne’s mind raced.

Yvonne’s face fell in an instant.

The air grew thick with tension. It was not until the waiter brought out the first dish that Chiara’s gentle voice finally broke the silence.

“Sorry, something came up. Can you pack our food to go?” she asked.

The waiter blinked in surprise, then nodded. “Sure, just a moment.”

Chiara glanced at Eunice and said softly, “Let’s go.”

Eunice finally snapped out of it, noticing that Titus seemed to have been staring at Ryan.

Eunice carefully picked Ryan up, and Chiara rose to her feet before she gently took Ryan from Eunice’s arms.

“Mommy…” Ryan called out clearly.

Chiara smiled gently and kissed his cheek. Then, she turned around with Ryan in her arms.

It has been nearly three years since Chiara last laid eyes on Titus

However, she would catch glimpses of him on TV news from time to time, so seeing him in the flesh did not really faze her. After all, Titus had been making a lot of headlines these past six months.

Chiara thought she’d feel something, maybe get a little worked up, but right now, she was just calm as ever.

Titus stared at her, his gaze deep and unreadable, taking in her gentle, composed features.

With only a short distance between them, they simply gazed at he another in silence.

There was no drama, no accusations, just a quiet calm between em.

Yvonne was stunned the moment Chiara turned around.

Yvonne could never mistake that face. It was Titus’s ex-wife. She knew exactly who Chiara was.

Her gaze fell on Chiara and Ryan, and a sense of crisis gripped her. Instinctively, she clung tighter to Titus’s arm,

determined to strike first before things got out of hand.

“Titus, is that Ms. Lynch up ahead, the Lynch family’s heiress? Your ex-wife?” Yvonne blurted out.

Chiara shot Yvonne a quick look, then walked over with Ryan in her arms as she tried to make her way to the exit.

She stopped just a step away from them, meeting Titus’s eyes with a steady, composed expression.

“Long time no see,” Chiara said, her voice calm and unhurried.

Eunice stared at Chiara, utterly shocked that she’d be the one to break the ice with Titus.

Titus’s eyes lingered on Chiara’s serene face, dark and unreadable, before finally settling on Ryan.

Ryan was eyeing Titus with a look of pure curiosity.

Father and son locked eyes, the air thick with weird tension.

Yvonne opened her mouth to say something, but Ryan suddenly reached his arms out toward Titus.

“Hug…hug…” Ryan called out, his little voice soft and eager.

Both Titus and Chiara froze, totally caught off guard.

hiara glanced down at Ryan in her arms, thoughtful for a few seconds, then looked up at Titus.

“He wants you to hold him. Would you like to?” she asked.

Titus swallowed hard, not saying a word as he stepped forward and held out his arms.

Chiara hesitated for a moment, then gently handed Ryan over to him.

Chiara and Titus’s hands never touched.

Ryan just grinned at Titus and laughed out loud. His laughter was clear and bright, the kind that made you feel good just hearing it.

There was nothing more innocent than a kid’s laughter.

Ryan was obviously having the time of his life.

Chiara was a little taken aback. She’d never shown Ryan any photos of Titus, but judging by Ryan’s reaction, it was almost like he knew.

Is this what they call a blood connection?’ Chiara thought to herself.

Ryan reached up with his drool-soaked little hands and touched Titus’s face, his nose, and his chin, laughing so much that drool ran down his chin.

Chiara saw this and leaned in, pulling a wet wipe from her pocket to gently clean the drool off Ryan’s face.

“Sorry, he’s probably teething these days,” she said.

Titus glanced at Chiara, but she kept her eyes on Ryan, never once looking his way.

“It’s fine,” Titus murmured.

Yvonne watched the scene, her heart racing. Wait, they actually have a kid together? Seriously, how did nobody know about this?’ she thought, completely stunned.

“Ms. Lynch, hello! Nice to meet you. I’m Yvonne, Titus’s girlfrier, Yvonne said, flashing a bright smile.

Eunice rolled her eyes, but Chiara just glanced at Yvonne and gave her a warm smile.

“Hello, Yvonne. You’re even more beautiful in person than you alle on TV,” Chiara said warmly.

Yvonne’s perfect smile faltered for a moment. Seeing Chiara’s genuine warmth, she was suddenly at a loss for words.

Things were definitely not going the way she’d imagined.

Titus held Ryan, but his eyes stayed glued to Chiara’s face. Maybe it was motherhood, but she had this new softness about her. It was so gentle that it was almost mesmerizing.

Yvonne glanced at Titus out of the corner of her eye and noticed his gaze was locked on his ex-wife. That wave of jealousy crashed over her again.

She walked up to Titus and looked at Ryan. “Hi there, little guy.”

Chiara turned her attention back to Titus. After all these years, she still couldn’t read him. His thoughts were just as much of a mystery as ever.

Even now, he seemed totally unfazed by her and Ryan showing up out of the blue.

Titus was so calm that it actually caught her off guard.

Chiara shot a glance at Yvonne, who was practically staking her claim.

“We won’t keep you any longer,” Chiara said, then looked at Titus and held out her arms, signaling for him to hand Ryan back.

Titus fixed his gaze on her, his voice calm as he suddenly asked, Would you like to join us for dinner?”

‘No way am I agreeing to that. Sitting down with my ex and his new girlfriend? Is he for real? Only Titus would think of something like this,’ Chiara scoffed inwardly.
