Adele was speechless. Charlie, listening to their conversation, wa completely lost. “What are you two talking about? Chiara’s back? And who’s Ryan?” he asked.

Adele finally turned to Charlie. “Ryan is your grandson.”

“What? My grandson?” Charlic was so shocked that his fork clattered onto the table. “What’s going on? Where did this grandson come from?” he blurted out.

Heather dropped Chiara off at the door and then headed straigh to the office. She had barely stepped inside when the doorbell rang.

She turned to look, and the housekeeper, Ana, who was already in the loop, said, “That must be Debby and the others. I’ll get

the door.”

Chiara nodded, holding Ryan in her arms as she headed to the door to welcome them.

Debby and Adele weren’t the only ones who showed up this time Charlie was there too, clearly couldn’t wait. Adele called out, “Why are you rushing off so fast?”

Charlie shot back, “I’m dying to see my grandson! You stick with Mom and take it slow; I’m heading in first.”

Adele snarked, watching him fuss around, “You sure don’t act like you’re sixty.”

Debby gave her a sidelong glance and pointed out, “Weren’t you just as impatient yesterday?”

Adele was left speechless. Charlie finally saw Chiara, with Ryan i her arms.

Chiara smiled and greeted him, “Hi Dad, long time no see.”

Charlie came back to his senses and nodded. “So this is Ryan, my grandson?”

Chiara nodded with a smile, glanced at Ryan, and gently said, “Ran, why don’t you say hi to Grandpa?”

Ryan stared at Charlie with a big smile and held out his tiny arm. “Grandpa…” he called out in his baby voice.

Charlie’s eyes went red with excitement, and he scrambled to scoop Ryan up into his arms. Adele watched nervously and blurted out, “Careful!”

Charlie nodded over and over. “I know, I know. Last time I held little one like this, it was Titus as a baby…

Chiara didn’t show much emotion when Titus was mentioned. Alele glanced at her and asked, “Your grandma said you ran into Titus yesterday?”

“Yeah,” Chiara replied.

Adele couldn’t help but soften up as she looked at Ryan’s little fae. She held his tiny hand and said, “Don’t worry, we’re not here to fight over who gets to raise Ryan. We live pretty close, so whenever we miss him, we’ll just come by to see him.”

Chiara’s generosity took Adele and Charlie by surprise, but Deby just smiled, clearly pleased. Debby was sure that any child she liked would turn out well.

Debby felt a surge of exasperated regret as she reflected on how er useless grandson had never realized his own good fortune and had carelessly let a treasure like Chiara slip away.

“Really?” Adele asked, her eyes lighting up.

Chiara nodded with a smile. “Of course. You’re Ryan’s closest family, Grandma, Mom, Dad, come in and make yourselves comfortable.”

“Alright, we brought some gifts for Ryan. Just have someone fete them from the car later,” Adele said.

“Sure thing,” Chiara replied.

When Heather heard the Goodman family was coming over, she had the chef prepare the kitchen. She also gave Debby a call, telling her she’d be home early tonight.

No matter how much Heather disliked Titus, she didn’t have any issues with the rest of the Goodman family. Especially Debby, who always backed Chiara up no matter what, and Heather could only feel grateful for that.

The Lynch residence was buzzing with activity that day. Paul let fitus know that everyone from the Goodman family had headed over to Chiara’s place.

When Titus heard, he just walked over to the window and stared out in silence for ages. Paul glanced up at Titus’s back and couldn’t help but feel the guy looked downright miserable.

He thought, ‘Bet Mrs. Goodman’s place is all laughter and good bes right now. Everyone’s having a blast, except for Mr. Goodman, who’s left out in the cold. Man, that’s actually kinda piful.

Paul cleared his throat. “Mr. Goodman, why don’t we head over o?”

Titus turned to look at him. “Do you honestly think they’d want the there?”

Paul was speechless. ‘Of course not. No way they’d want him there, he thought.

He rubbed his nose and said, “But Mr. Goodman, you’re Ryan’s dad. It’s not a real family gathering without you. And honestly, I think Mrs. Goodman’s already moved on; she just wants to keep things civil with you.”

Titus gave him a deadpan look and scoffed. “Spare me the secon half,” Titus said dryly,

Paul was speechless. After a moment, Titus finally asked, “Theyven’t left yet?”

Paul looked up and shook his head. “Heard the Lynch staff went out and bought a bunch of groceries. Pretty sure they’re staying for dinner at Chiara’s.”

Titus glanced at his watch. It was already four. “Push the afterno meeting to tomorrow morning.” Titus said.

Paul nodded. “Sure thing, Mr. Goodman”

But just as they stepped out of the office, they ran into Yvonne coming out of the elevator. She was dressed to the nines today, clearly having put a lot of effort into her look.

Spotting them, she took off her sunglasses and hurried over, slipping her arm through Titus’s with a familiar, affectionate gesture. “Titus, where are you two off to? I made a reservation at restaurant. You can’t stand me up tonight, no matter what,” she said.
