Chapter 184 Ryan’s Head Injury
Chapter 184 Ryan’s Head Injury
As soon as Heather saw Titus and Chiara leave, she grabbed her phone and called Chiara right away. The moment Chiara picked up, Heather anxiously asked, “What happened?”
Heather felt a chill in her chest. She just knew it had to be about Ryan.
“Ryan hit his head. Mrs. Walker said there was a lot of blood. They’re already rushing to the hospital, and we’re heading there, too,” Chiara said, her voice trembling.
Heather’s heart dropped. “Got it. Don’t freak out. I’m coming right now. It’ll be okay, trust me.”
Heather hung up and was about to leave when Wayne walked over to her.
“What’s wrong? Did something happen?” Wayne asked, concerned.
“Yeah, something’s up at home. We need to head out. Mr. Pierce, catch you later,” Heather said, not wanting to get into
details.
She gave him a quick nod and hurried off.
Wayne looked like he wanted to say more, but when he heard it was family business, he just let her go.
On the way to the hospital, Chiara didn’t call Ana again. She didn’t want to make Aria even more worried. But she was so anxious that her forehead was slick with sweat.
Titus glanced over, reached out, and gently dabbed her forehead with a tissue.
“Hey, relax. Kids get bumps and bruises all the time,” Titus said softly, trying to comfort her.
Chiara was always attentive to Ryan’s every move. Ryan rarely ever got hurt, since she hardly ever let him out of sight.
But just because she hadn’t been home today, Ryan ended up getting hurt, and guilt gnawed at Chiara. She couldn’t stop blaming herself.
Titus could tell Chiara was too worried to hear anything he said, so he just grabbed his phone and called Yves.
“My son, Ryan, is headed to the hospital. Get over there and watch him for me. I’m on my way,” Titus said, sounding urgent.
After hanging up, he turned to Paul. “Drive faster.”
“Got it, Mr. Goodman,” Paul answered, pressing down on the accelerator.
Paul hadn’t understood what was happening at first, but now he finally got it.
‘Ah, so it’s Mr. Goodman’s kid who got hurt, Paul thought to himself.
By the time Titus and Chiara got there, Yves was already with Ana.
When Ana saw them, her eyes welled up with tears.
“Mr. Goodman, Chiara, it’s all my fault. I didn’t keep a close enough eye on Ryan. I just went to wash some fruit for him, and that’s when he fell. None of the other staff noticed either. I was careless,” Ana stammered, her voice thick with guilt.
Chiara glanced at the operating room door, worried gnawing at her. She forced herself to say something to comfort Ana.
‘Mrs. Anderson, it’s my fault. I shouldn’t have left Ryan at home without me. Please don’t blame yourself,” Chiara said, her voice gentle but full of regret.
“It’s just that I didn’t keep a close enough eye on Ryan…” Ana whispered.
Yves stared at Chiara for a moment, then turned to Titus.
The moment he heard the news, he called to get the details. Once he got the full story, he was left speechless.
“Titus, Chiara, I just checked out Ryan’s wound. Honestly, it’s not a big deal. Ryan’ll need a few stitches, but the scans are all clear. Just a surface cut,” Yves said, trying to reassure them.
Chiara’s face fell when she heard about the stitches. “Stitches? How many does he need? Can I go in and see him right now?”
Yves shook his head. “Probably best if you don’t. If Ryan sees you, he’ll start bawling again, and that’ll make it tough for the doctor to do his job.”
‘Any idea how many stitches?” Chiara asked, her voice tight with worry.
“Hard to say at the moment, but don’t stress, Chi l’on qlues the dão hes-up,” Yves said.
Titus shot Yves a meaningful look.
Yves glanced at Chiara, then walked over to Titus.

Chapter 184 Ryan’s Head Injury
Compared to Chiara, Titus was remarkably calm.
Chiara was so focused on the operating room that she didn’t even notice the subtle signals between Titus and Yves.
“What’s up, Titus?” Yves asked quietly.
About fifteen minutes later, the operating room door finally opened up, and a nurse came out carrying Ryan.
“Ryan…” Chiara called out, her voice shaky with concern.
“Mommy!” Ryan wailed as soon as he saw Chiara, his tear-streaked face making her heart clench.
Chiara rushed over and scooped him into her arms, her eyes glued to the bandage on his forehead.
“Don’t worry. The cut’s not deep. He just needed four stitches. Just make sure to keep it dry for the next few days so it doesn’t get infected,” the nurse said, trying to reassure Chiara.
Chiara finally breathed a sigh of relief and planted a kiss on Ryan’s cheek.
Ana added, her voice still shaky, “Ryan, you nearly scared me to death.”
Ryan’s little arms wrapped tight around Chiara’s neck and wouldn’t let go, still trembling from the scare.
Yves glanced over, his lips twitching with a hint of disbelief. “Titus, are you really going through with this? Seriously, you…”
Titus shot him a cool look. “I know what I’m doing.”
“But look at how much Chiara cares about Ryan. Maybe you should reconsider?” Yves said, concern clear in his voice.
Ryan spotted Titus and called softly, “Daddy…”
Yves nudged Titus. “Go on, your little guy wants you.”
Titus gave Yves a look, then turned and walked over to Ryan.
Ryan reached out for Titus. After meeting Titus’s eyes, Chiara handed Ryan over to him.
Titus frowned as he saw Ryan’s red, puffy eyes from crying and the bandage wrapped around his forehead.
“Is he going to have a scar?” Titus asked, his voice tight with concern.
Chiara glanced at the nurse, curious and worried.
“Probably not. Kids’ skin heals up super well. And even if there’s a scar, we can always get it fixed with a procedure,” the nurse reassured them.
Yves added, “Don’t stress, Chiara. He’ll be fine. No scar.”
Chiara nodded, never letting go of Ryan’s small hand.
Heather came rushing over at that moment. When she saw Ryan was okay, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
“Is everything okay?” Heather asked, worry written all over her face.
Chiara replied, “He needed four stitches.”
Heather frowned, her heart aching as she looked at Ryan. “Why are you always getting yourself into trouble?”
Ryan lay quietly on Titus’s shoulder. The anesthesia hadn’t worn off yet, so he wasn’t feeling any pain.
Yves added, “Once the anesthesia wears off, it’s probably going to hurt a bit. He’s too little for pain meds, so he’ll have to be brave for a while.”
