Chapter 190 Think It Over
Chapter 190 Think It Over
Once they got back to the Lynch residence, Titus looked at Chiara and reminded her, “Ryan’s a boy, you know. Don’t coddle him too much. He’s going to be the one running Goodman Group one day. He can’t be some pampered kid. Overprotecting him will only do him more harm than good.”
Chiara listened quietly, gave him a look, then turned and walked inside with Ryan in her arms.
Titus watched her back and said softly, “Think it over. Let me know when you’ve made up your mind. And please, keep this from Debby and the others. If she finds out, she’ll be as worried as you are. She’s not as young as she used to be.”
Chiara paused for a moment, said, “I know,” and then kept walking.
Titus watched as she walked into the courtyard, waiting until the electronic gate slowly closed behind her before getting back into the front passenger seat.
When Chiara got home, she didn’t even breathe a word to Ana. She was afraid Ana might accidentally tell Debby. She didn’t want anyone else worrying.
Titus was right. Debby was not young anymore, and Ryan was perfectly fine for now. If Debby found out, she would get anxious and lose sleep over it for no reason.
Chiara spent the whole afternoon glued to her computer, digging up every bit of information she could find.
She read about patients with blood-clotting disorders who ended up losing too much blood during surgery, went into shock, and never woke up again.
She also looked into stem cell transplants, a treatment that could restore normal clotting in the body.
The success rate was pretty high. If it worked, Ryan would be like any other kid. No more living in constant fear.
Blood clotting disorders weren’t usually fatal, but the risks were sky-high, almost like living in danger every single day.
As long as nothing set it off, Ryan would be fine.
Chiara shut her laptop, leaned back in her chair, and rubbed the bridge of her nose.
She couldn’t get Titus’s words from the hospital out of her head.
Ana could tell Chiara was in a bad mood today, but since Chiara didn’t say anything, Ana didn’t ask either.
So when Heather got home that evening, Ana casually mentioned it.
“Ms. Lynch, Chiara seems down today. I’m not sure what’s wrong, but she has been in the study all afternoon,” Ana said.
Heather couldn’t help but frown, glancing up toward the second floor. “I’ll go and check on her.”
Knock, knock, knock…
“Chiara? Can I come in?” Heather called from outside the door.
“Yes,” Titus replied.
Heather pushed open the study door, gave Chiara a quick once-over, and asked directly, “Mrs. Walker said you went straight to the study as soon as you got home. Is something bothering you? Did something happen?”
Other than Ryan, Heather was the only one Chiara could call family now.,
Chiara never kept secrets from Heather, so she told her everything about Ryan’s check-up today.
Heather’s expression turned grave, her face growing more and more serious. “How could this happen?”
Chiara shook her head. “I don’t know.”
Heather was silent for a few seconds before asking, “So, what are you going to do now?”
“I…” Chiara stammered, at a loss for words.
She let out a self-mocking laugh. “I brought up having another baby, but he turned me down. He said it’s a life, and once we bring a child into the world, we have to be responsible for the child. We can’t just walk away.”
Heather stayed quiet. She knew Titus was always level-headed. It made sense for him to think things through before making a decision.
She walked over and took Chiara’s hand. “Chiara, you know I’ll always have your back, no matter what you decide.”
are always there. I guess I’ll be living on edge
Chiara shook her head. “I don’t know what to
from now on.”

Heather gently patted Chiara’s shoulder, saying nothing, just quietly keeping her company.

Chapter 190 Think It Over
“Take your time. You’ve got plenty of time to think it over,” Heather said softly.
“But once the new year starts, Ryan’s going to kindergarten. I can’t be with him every minute of the day, and I can’t help but worry about him all the time…” Chiara said, her voice tight with anxiety.
Heather understood how Chiara felt, but she still tried to comfort her. “I’ll ask the teachers to pay extra attention to Ryan. Plus, there are cameras everywhere at kindergarten these days. You can check in on him whenever you need to. Try to relax a little. Don’t be so tense.”
Ana came upstairs carrying Ryan. “Ryan was looking for his mom.”
Chiara glanced over, quickly composed herself, and got up to meet him.
“Did you miss Mommy, Ryan?” she asked gently.
Ryan reached out to her and nodded. “Daddy?”
Chiara softly patted the back of his head. “Daddy’s at work, remember? I told you before. You’ll see him when he gets home tonight. Did you forget?”
Ryan nodded, “I’ll wait for Daddy!”
Heather just watched Ryan and Chiara quietly.
“Wanna go downstairs and play?” Chiara asked.
“Okay,” Ryan said.
“Alright, let’s go,” Chiara said.
Chiara played with Ryan for about half an hour before Titus came home.
Ryan’s eyes lit up when he saw him. “Daddy!”
Titus gave him a gentle smile and scooped him up.
Chiara sat on the carpet, watching them, lost in thought.
After saying a few words to Ryan, Titus turned to look at Chiara.
Chiara held his gaze for a moment before turning her eyes away.
Titus walked over with Ryan in his arms and said quietly, “I noticed there are a lot of cobblestones in the yard. I’ll have someone come by tomorrow to clear them out and put in some grass.”
Chiara thought of the cobblestone path outside and didn’t say no to his suggestion.
Heather came downstairs and stopped for a second when she saw the three of them together.
Titus glanced up at her when he heard the noise. “Back so early today?”
Heather just nodded.
Ignoring people isn’t polite.
“Denray Technology from Mieashy sent Kason a job offer. As far as I know, he hasn’t said no yet,” Titus said.
At the mention of Kason, Heather finally turned to look at him. “That’s his business. Our contract is almost up anyway.”
