Chapter 197 Mr. Bradford To Leave Soon
Chapter 197 Mr. Bradford To Leave Soon
Chiara had just walked in from the other side when she saw Heather’s car pull in.
She didn’t like what Titus did, but she didn’t say anything.
For Ryan’s sake, they were both willing to let it slide.
Heather stepped out of her car and spotted Chiara coming over from next door. The two sisters shared a silent glance for a few seconds before Heather finally broke the silence.
“I picked up some beer. Want to join me for a drink?” Heather asked.
Chiara nodded. “I’ll hop in the shower first.”
Heather sat on the couch waiting for her, and when Chiara came down in her PJs, Heather asked, “By the way, can you still drink?”
Chiara sat down across from her, grabbed a can of beer, and popped it open. “Yeah, I can drink.”
She took a sip before saying, “I didn’t do it.”
Heather looked at her for a few seconds, then clinked her can against Chiara’s, not asking any more questions.
The two sisters drank in silence, without any heart-to-heart talk.
Sometimes, all you needed was someone to be there with you. You didn’t have to say or do anything.
Heather had picked up six cans of beer. She downed four herself, while Chiarà only managed two. She knew her limit and didn’t want to push it.
Two cans weren’t enough to get her tipsy, but her face was already turning red.
Heather took the empty can from Chiara’s hand and gave her shoulder a gentle pat.
“Alright, it’s getting late. You should head upstairs and get some rest,” Heather said.
Chiara was already feeling a little lightheaded. She hadn’t touched alcohol in almost three years, and just two cans were enough for the buzz to hit her.
“I’m gonna head upstairs and get some sleep. You should turn in early too,” Chiara said.
“Alright, goodnight,” Heather replied.
Heather kept her eyes on Chiara as she slowly headed upstairs, not looking away until she saw her disappear safely into her room.
Her face gave nothing away, but once she closed her eyes and leaned back on the couch, she finally let a bit of her exhaustion show.
“Don’t forget to throw me a wild party in four months. I haven’t let loose in ages. You know what I like. Make sure it’s someone hot and wild. Those cold, distant types are way too bland for me. No flavor at all, can’t get into it…”
Those words kept echoing in her mind.
Before leaving work tonight, she spotted Kason getting ready to leave in the garage.
She happened to overhear him talking on the phone, and that’s when those words hit her ears.
She didn’t step out right away. Instead, she hid behind a pillar, watching him drive off before finally coming out.
She opened her eyes slowly and glanced at the empty cans on the coffee table.
She’d bought six for herself, but after three, she didn’t even feel a buzz.
But she wasn’t planning on drinking any more.
She had no idea why she’d pulled over halfway, walked into a store, and ended up buying beer.
She slowly sat up, pulled out her phone from her bag, and called her legal department.
“Draft a share transfer contract for me. Come see me tomorrow to get it signed,” she said.
With that, she hung up, grabbed her coat and bag, and headed upstairs.

Kason settled back into his seat and looked at her. “Is there something you need?”
Heather quietly studied Kason, his features practically made to attract trouble, especially those seductive eyes of his, overflowing with flirtatious energy.
Noticing her silent stare, Kason raised an eyebrow and gave her a playful smirk. “What’s the matter? Missing me already?”
Heather didn’t show any emotion, just looking at him without saying a word.
‘Now that I think about it, Heather mused, ‘Kason hasn’t hit me up to go to a hotel in over a month.
‘Maybe he’s finally tired of me… or maybe he’s already found someone new to play with, she thought.
Heather looked away and slid the contract across the table to him.
“Here are the shares I promised you. Sign it,” she said.
Kason glanced at the contract, then looked up at her, his eyes dark and unreadable.
He narrowed his eyes, as if trying to figure out what she was thinking.
But Heather kept her face blank, just letting him stare at her without reacting.
“Why are you handing this over now?” Kason asked.
Heather was already on her feet, her voice cool. “Since I promised you, you were going to get it sooner or later.”
As she walked toward the door, she added before pushing it open, “Less than four months left. You should start wrapping things up.”
She turned to look at Kason, not caring about his reaction, and said calmly, “Just giving you a heads up.”
“Thank you for your dedication to Lynch Group over the past two years. Take the next four months as my parting gift to you. You can start your break early,” Heather said.
With those words, Heather walked out of the conference room.
Kason watched as the door slowly closed, his eyes narrowing, shadowed with something unreadable. He sat there in silence for a long while before finally reaching for the contract.
Finally, he put pen to paper and signed his name.
He stared at Heather’s signature, his mind spinning with thoughts he didn’t care to share. His long fingers tapped lightly on the table, his eyes as deep and unfathomable as ever.
After leaving the conference room, Heather closed her eyes for a few seconds, then quickly composed herself and returned
to her usual self.
“Put out an HR announcement. Mr. Bradford will be leaving Lynch Group soon,” she said.
The secretary was stunned for a moment. “Ms. Lynch, Mr. Bradford is really leaving?”
Heather glanced at the secretary, who looked genuinely reluctant, and said coolly, “If you’re that attached, you’re free to leave with him.”
The secretary was startled and shook her head repeatedly. “No, I… I didn’t mean that, Ms. Lynch. I’ll inform the HR manager
right away.”
Heather headed straight into her office.
Then she grabbed the phone and dialed up the finance team.
“Robyn, can you come up for a minute?” Heather called out.
Robyn showed up in the office in no time.
