Chapter 205 Let’s See Who Wins

Chapter 205 Let’s See Who Wins

The three of them hung their heads, feeling both guilty and ashamed. “Mr. Goodman, let’s be honest with you,” one of them said.

“When Kason came to us, we turned him down. If we were going to sell, of course we’d sell to Ms. Lynch. But Kason threatened my son’s prospects abroad. What could I do?”

“Mr. Goodman, same here. Kason showed up with leverage on us. He didn’t give us a choice,” another chimed in.

“I actually refused, but that night my son called, saying he’d been hit by a car and his leg was broken…” the third added.

“Exactly, Mr. Goodman. Kason is a total maniac. Ms. Lynch is the one who brought this wolf into the company. What did we do wrong? Why should we have to clean up her mess and the Lynch Group’s?” one of them complained.

“And Kason paid an insanely high price for our shares. Whether it was coercion or temptation, we just couldn’t refuse. Mr. Goodman, we really let you down,” another added.

Titus’s face was hard to read, and even Paul could tell this was a tough situation.

It was obvious that everything Kason had done was aimed at Chiara and the Lynch Group.

‘No wonder Mr. Goodman had me look into Ms. Lynch and Mrs. Lynch, Paul thought.

‘Could there be some connection between the late Lynch couple and Kason?’ he wondered.

After they’d told the truth, Paul showed them out of the office.

“Mr. Goodman, what are we supposed to do now?” Paul asked.

Titus stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, silent.

‘What choice do I have?’ Titus thought to himself.

He figured Kason probably already had a big piece of the Lynch Group in his hands.

“Find a way to get in touch with him,” Titus said.

Paul nodded. “Yes, Mr. Goodman.”

Half an hour later, Paul burst into the office, phone in hand.

“Mr. Goodman, I got through to Mr. Bradford,” Paul said, out of breath.

Titus took the phone. “Mr. Bradford.”

“Mr. Goodman, I heard you were looking for me. And it seems you’ve been digging into my background?” Kason’s voice was calm, almost amused.

Titus listened to his unhurried, almost smiling tone, and cut straight to the chase.

“Can we talk?” Titus asked.

Kason was silent for a few seconds before he finally replied in a low voice, “What do you want to talk about, Mr. Goodman?”

“Your shares,” Titus said coolly.

Kason gave a short, mocking laugh. “Mr. Goodman, if you’re going to be this direct, then we’ve got nothing to discuss.”

Titus paused for a few seconds, then said in a low voice, “If you want to take me on, how confident are you?”

Kason didn’t answer, so Titus continued, his tone still calm.

“Mr. Bradford, even if the Lynch Group isn’t mine, it’s my son’s. You’re not in the running yet,” Titus said.

Kason let out a cocky laugh. “Then, Mr. Goodman, let’s see who’s got what it takes.”

With that, he hung up first. Titus’s face darkened as he tossed the phone back onto the desk, his jaw clenched. “Contact the other shareholders. Tell them I want to buy their shares in the Lynch Group,” Titus ordered.

Paul picked up his phone and nodded. “Yes, Mr. Goodman, I’m on it. I’ll take care of it right now.”

The bad press about the Lynch’Group got buried, and the news that they’d settled their taxes took center stage.

Even though Chiara was stuck at home, she wasn’t just chilling. She kept working with the PR team to figure out a game plan.

That afternoon, the Lynch Group’s PR departmSuccessfully unlocked!

“Here’s our official statement: Tax evasion was liever our intention. We were kept in the dark and forced into it by our

former finance director, who was pulling strings behind our backs. We’ve already called the cops on this.

“Thanks to everyone for your criticism and advice. We’ll be way more careful from now on, keep our eyes wide open, and not trust people so easily. We’re taking this as a serious lesson and will reflect on it deeply.”

Right below the statement was a screenshot showing the police had officially accepted their case.

It made it crystal clear that tax evasion was never the Lynch Group’s idea, and Heather Lynch didn’t order it at all. Robyn Irving acted entirely on her own, pulling this stunt behind everyone’s back.

The Lynch Group’s only mistake was not paying enough attention.

Meanwhile, on a tropical island abroad, Robyn bit her lip after seeing the news.

She turned and walked into the villa, seeing Kason sprawled on the couch, flirting with a blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty.

She gripped her phone tightly and walked over. “Heather called the cops!”

Kason glanced at his phone, his fingers lazily tapping the shoulder of the woman in his arms, looking laid-back and unconcerned.

“What’s there to be afraid of? The tax money never ended up in your pocket,” he said, unfazed.

Robyn’s expression finally eased a little. She definitely didn’t want to become a wanted criminal.

She had deliberately made sure the Lynch Group evaded taxes, but she hadn’t pocketed any of that money herself.

She glanced at the woman in his arms and frowned. “So, what’s your plan now? I told you to take action earlier, but you ignored me. Now Chiara’s back with Titus’s son. There’s no way Titus will just stand by and do nothing!”

Kason’s face stayed the same. He looked at her, then turned and whispered something in his companion’s ear.

The woman gave him a quick kiss on the cheek, then smiled and headed upstairs.

Robyn shot the woman in the skimpy nightgown a glare as she sashayed by, her scowl deepening.

She took a deep breath and demanded, “Why didn’t you make a move earlier?”

Kason picked up a cigarette from the coffee table and lit it, the smoke curling up to hide his eyes and make his expression unreadable.

“What difference does it make if it’s now or later?” he replied.

“It makes all the difference! If we’d acted faster, the Goodman Group would’ve never seen it coming,” Robyn snapped.

Kason snorted with a laugh. “You really think Titus has given up on Chiara? You think he’d just sit back and watch if she hadn’t come back with that kid?”

Robyn frowned, clearly confused by his words.

“What do you mean? Didn’t they get divorced two years ago? And didn’t they split up on really bad terms?” she asked.

Kason slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke, lazily flicking the ash off his cigarette as he spoke, unhurried.

“Titus never intended to let Chiara go from the very beginning,” he said.

Robyn blinked, surprised. “But didn’t he date that actress for like six months?”

Kason scoffed, “Titus is the type who keeps everything under wraps. If he wanted to fool around, would he really pick a celebrity? And do it so openly?”

Robyn hesitated, her brows furrowing. “So what you’re saying is…”
