Chapter 206 Any Leads?
Kason stood on the steps, hesitating for a few seconds before finally turning to face her.
His eyes darkened as he saw how devastated Robyn looked, her heartbreak written all over her face.
“Robyn, you’re like a sister to me. I could be with plenty of women, but I never mess with my own crew, especially when it comes to friends,” he said.
Robyn’s eyes grew misty. “But you know how much I like you.”
Kason stared at her for a long time before finally saying, “Go find yourself a good guy and fall in love for real. Don’t waste your time on me.
“You know I’m not the kind to give up the whole forest for just one tree. Even if I said yes to you, could you really handle me messing around with other women?”
“What if I really could handle it?” Robyn pressed, her voice shaky.
Kason’s face fell, his eyes growing sharp as he fixed her with an icy stare.
“You might be able to, but I can’t,” he replied, his voice firm.
Robyn’s lips trembled, but she couldn’t get a word out. Still, she was unwilling to give up.
“But you could do it, couldn’t you?” she finally managed, her voice barely above a whisper.
She didn’t spell it out, but Kason got what she meant.
He truly hadn’t been with any other woman during the two years he’d been with Heather.
Kason’s gaze was bottomless, so deep and unsettling it sent a chill down Robyn’s spine.
“That’s why I’m cutting myself loose now. Head back to your place,” he said.
With that, he turned and went upstairs.
Robyn couldn’t stop him. She could only watch helplessly as he went upstairs to find that hot girl he was with before.
She covered her face with her hands and broke down in tears.
She was in pain, every single day.
Every time she saw Heather leave the office and head to the hotel where Kason was staying, she’d spend the whole night tossing and turning, unable to get any rest.
She just couldn’t understand why it couldn’t be her.
She’d come to terms with the fact that he’d never be a one-woman man.
All she wanted was to be the most special one to him, even if it was just for a moment. That would’ve been enough.
But he wouldn’t even give her that.

Titus got in touch with the other shareholders. They all worked at Lynch Group and only held a small stake.
“Mr. Goodman, I… I don’t want to sell my shares. I’m planning to rely on them for my retirement,” one of them said.
“Yeah, Mr. Goodman, I don’t want to either…” another chimed in.
“Mr. Goodman, could you tell us what you want our shares for?” a third asked.
Titus fixed them with a silent, unblinking stare.
Under his gaze, they felt their hearts pounding and cold sweat trickling down their backs.
“So, you really don’t want to sell?” Titus asked.
“No, we really don’t want to sell,” one of them stammered.
Titus shot Paul a look, and Paul pushed a thick contract across the table toward them.
“Not selling? Fine. Then sign this contract instead,” Titus said coolly.
“Mr. Goodman, what is this supposed to be?” one of the shareholders blurted out, his voice shaky.
They looked at the contract and realized it was rata bant lette

After reading it, they still looked puzzled, glancing at each other in confusion.

“What does this even mean?” one of them muttered.
“No idea…” another replied, shaking his head.
“Mr. Goodman, what’s this all about?” a third asked, his voice trembling.
“I’m not one to strong-arm anyone into selling. If you don’t want to, that’s your call. But I need to make sure those shares stay put and don’t end up in someone else’s hands,” Titus said, his voice cool but unmistakably firm.
They finally understood what he was getting at.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Goodman. We won’t sell our shares to anyone else. You have my word,” one of them blurted out.
Titus lifted his chin slightly. “Then please sign.”
They exchanged glances, then picked up their pens and signed their names.
Once everyone had signed, Titus waited a beat before speaking, his voice low and serious.
“And if Kason tries to get in touch with any of you, let me know immediately,” he added.
They all froze for a second, their minds already scheming as they thought about everything that had happened lately.
They were all born and bred in Halinston. No matter how tough or resourceful Kason was, he wasn’t one of them.
After all, you don’t mess with the locals, and when it came to Goodman Group, Titus was never the kind of guy anyone could push around.
In fact, they were way more wary of Titus than they were of Kason.
They’d rather put their faith in Titus, too.
Since they were all doing this for Lynch Group, they were more than happy to stick together with Titus and be on the same
team.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Goodman. We’re all in this together with Lynch Group. We’d never betray it,” one of them promised. “That’s right, Mr. Goodman. None of us would ever go against Lynch Group. You have our word,” another added.
Titus gave a faint, almost imperceptible smile. “Paul, see our guests out.”
After Paul saw them out, he came back in. “So, what do we do now, Mr. Goodman?”
“Nothing we can do,” Titus said flatly.
“So we’re just supposed to wait around?” Paul muttered.
Titus twirled his pen. “Even if we want to do something, we’ve got to know what the other side is after and what their next move is. Otherwise, we won’t even know what we’re supposed to be defending against.”
Paul nodded.
“How long has Robyn been with Lynch Group?” Titus asked.
“Heard she came on board right after college,” Paul replied.
‘So it’s been years, huh? If they go way back to college, what could’ve made her suddenly betray Lynch Group like that?’ Titus wondered.
“Look into Robyn Irving. I want results, fast,” Titus ordered.
“Yes, Mr. Goodman…” Paul replied.
Heather slept through the entire day, only slowly coming to when night had already fallen.
After waking up, she stared blankly at the ceiling for a while before finally sitting up and searching for her phone, but it was nowhere in sight.
She rubbed her temples, her mind feeling a bit clearer after a full day of sleep.
Then she tossed off the covers, got out of bed, and walked out of the room.
Chiara glanced up when she heard someone moving around. “You’re awake?”
Heather nodded, then walked down the stairs, smiling as she picked Ryan up. “Come here. I want a hug.”
Ryan reached up, touched her face, and planted a kiss on her cheek.
Her smile finally felt real as she settled onto the couch with Ryan in her arms.
“Did you take my phone?” Heather asked.
Chiara nodded. “Yeah, I didn’t want anything to bother you while you were sleeping, so I brought it downstairs.” With that, she handed the phone over.

Heather took the phone and saw it was off. She didn’t bother turning it on right away. Instead, she set it aside and started playing with Ryan in her arms.
Chiara kept watching her, but Heather was way too calm, almost unnaturally so. That just made Chiara even more worried.
“Heather, are you really okay?” Chiara asked, her voice full of concern.
Heather glanced at her and shook her head. “I’m fine, really. Don’t worry about me. After all these years, what haven’t we been through? If I was that fragile, how could I ever be the one holding this family together?”
“So why is Kason acting like this?” Chiara pressed, frowning.
Heather froze for a second. “I don’t know.”
Funny when you think about it. They’d worked side by side for over two years, and for just as long, they’d been more than just colleagues.
Even if she could keep her feelings locked down, professionally, she really did trust Kason.
“But if he’s really doing this, he’s not just trying to cause a little drama for Lynch Group,” Heather said, her voice steady, though a flicker of doubt crossed her mind.
But the truth was, Heather really had no idea why Kason was doing this to her, or to Lynch Group. It just didn’t make sense.
Even if someone was after Lynch Group, if you were looking to take over a company, Lynch Group wasn’t exactly the best target out there.
She didn’t like admitting it, but in Halinston, anyone thinking about making a move on Lynch Group had to take Titus Goodman into account. That’s just how things worked around here.
Just as the sisters were still scratching their heads, Titus finally walked in.
Paul was right behind him, his expression unusually grim.
Chiara looked up at them, got straight to the point, “Well? Any leads?”
Paul nodded, walked over, and dropped the afternoon’s findings on the coffee table.
Chiara grabbed the folder and tore it open. Inside was Robyn’s personal info.
“Robyn’s file?” Chiara asked, her voice full of surprise.
