Chapter 211 Do Whatever It Takes
Chapter 211 Do Whatever It Takes
Heather was caught on camera looking totally wrecked as she left work, and those photos went viral in no tirne.
It didn’t take long for rumors to start flying. Everyone knew the Goodman Group had lent the Lynch Group money to cover their taxes.
But the Lynch Group had been thriving these past few years. How could they not even afford their taxes?
People were talking nonstop, with all kinds of wild theories floating around.
Some even claimed that Robyn, the former finance director, had run off with the money. No wonder Heather looked so drained these days.
After the news broke, the stock price took a bit of a hit, but everything else was business as usual. Honestly, the actual losses were pretty minimal.
Robyn was absolutely livid as she scrolled through the reports. “What a load of crap!”
She stared at Heather’s photo, her brows furrowed in frustration, then turned to the man sitting next to her.
“You’re not doing anything behind my back, are you?” she asked.
Kason took a slow sip of his coffee, taking his time with breakfast. At her question, he glanced up, a faint smile tugging at his lips.
“Don’t you know everything I do?” he replied.
Robyn stared at him for a while, then slid her phone over and tapped Heather’s photo on the screen.
“So why does she look so messed up?” Robyn asked, frowning.
Kason glanced down at her phone. Yeah, Heather looked totally wrecked in those pics.
There were even shots of her coming and going from the Lynch Group late at night in her pajamas, and the next day, she looked dead tired, pale as a ghost.
Anyone who saw those would think she’d just been hit by a truck emotionally.
Kason picked up his napkin, wiped his lips, then took her phone and kept looking at the photos for ages.
He stared so long that Robyn couldn’t take it anymore and snatched her phone back.
“What are you looking at?” she asked.
Kason dropped his hand, leaned back in his chair, and looked up at her. When he saw how jealous she looked, he just had to laugh.
“Wasn’t it you who told me to look?” he shot back with a grin.
Robyn was left speechless by his words. Her eyes landed on the hickey on his neck, and her face grew even darker. She could only imagine what he’d been up to last night.
“So what are you waiting for? You never tell me what’s on your mind. I don’t even know what you’re planning next!” she snapped.
Kason’s eyes were unreadable as he looked at her, and he only said one word.
“Wait,” he replied.
Robyn looked away, took a deep breath, and pressed, “Seriously, what are you even waiting for?”
Kason’s face was impossible to read. “I’m waiting for her to figure out what really happened back then.”
Robyn’s eyes narrowed as she turned to him. “And how do you know she’ll actually go digging? If her parents were behind it, wouldn’t she be more likely to hide the truth than try to find it?”.
Kason got up from his chair. “No, she will. Trust me.”
Robyn suddenly fell silent, staring at him hard.
“I’ve known her for more than eight years. Actually, even longer. Do you seriously think you know her better than I do?” she challenged.
Kason just smirked at her. “Maybe.”
Robyn clenched her fists, scoffing.
Successfully unlocked!
“You’ve only known her for what, two years? Are you really that over how the path you’ve set for her?” she retorted.
Kason looked at her, his gaze deep and calm, all traces of his usual devil-may-care attitude gone.

Chapter 211 Do Whatever It Takes
He said, “You spent years at the Lynch Group and never found a single lead. That just means the Lynch sisters really had not idea either. If they want answers, they’ll find a way to get them.
“We just need to sit tight and wait. Robyn, patience is the key when you’re fishing for the truth/
Robyn pressed her lips together, then finally said, “She’s actually treated me pretty well…”
“Not bad, huh?” Kason jumped in.
Robyn stayed silent, neither nodding nor shaking her head. She couldn’t even say for sure how she felt about Heather these days.
Heather had been scheming to get close to her from the very beginning, all just to win her trust.
Even though there was always some business stuff between them, Heather was honestly generous and really good to her.
Heather treated Kason the same way. No matter what, she’d keep her word to him, even with six months still left on the clock.
If Heather hadn’t let him walk away with those shares six months ahead of schedule, they’d probably have to wait another six months.
Her feelings for Heather were complicated. After spending years together, there’s no way she could stay indifferent.
Kason’s gaze was dark and impossible to read as he watched Robyn, her face a mess of emotions.
He said quietly, “Robyn, if you want something, you have to do whatever it takes. Conscience? That’s not for people like us. If you’re not willing to hurt her, you might as well walk away now. In the end, everyone’s just looking out for themselves.”
Robyn’s face flickered, then she shut her eyes and gave a small nod.
“You’re right. Everyone’s selfish,” she said, then slowly opened her eyes and looked at him.
“If she really finds out what happened back then, what do you think she’ll do? Will she just destroy the evidence, or do something else?” Robyn pressed.
Kason’s expression was cold, all his usual teasing gone. His eyes were deep and unreadable as he looked at her.
“If it were you, what would you do?” he asked.
Robyn hesitated, then shook her head.
She said, “If I were their daughter, even if I knew my parents messed up, now that they’re gone, I’d cover it up to protect their legacy.
“Plus, there are so many people at Lynch Group counting on her to keep their jobs. Heather’s never been the type to run away from her responsibilities.”
“That’s why I said people are selfish,” Kason replied.
“Honey.”
Just as they were talking, the blonde bombshell with blue eyes came down from upstairs.
Robyn heard the voice, glanced over, then quickly looked away, her face darkening with jealousy. She couldn’t hold it in
anymore.
“You love playing around so much. Aren’t you worried you’ll catch something?” she snapped.
Kason glanced at the foreign beauty and raised an eyebrow. “Just make sure to keep it clean,”
Robyn was so mad she could’ve dropped dead right there. She couldn’t even bother to look at those two anymore and just walked out of the villa without another word.
The woman sashayed over, her curves swaying, and slipped her arm through his, all flirty and affectionate.
