Chapter 213 Going To See Kason

Chapter 213 Going To See Kason

Heather gave Titus a sideways glance. “Dead?”

Titus nodded. “Yeah, he’s dead.”

As he spoke, he placed the file about Orson on the coffee table.

Heather picked up the folder, opened it, and pulled out the papers to read.

The photo was a bit blurry, but she could still make out that it was a strikingly handsome young man.

And those features…

Chiara’s eyes widened in shock, and she suddenly looked up at Titus.

Titus was watching them too. “He looks a lot like Kason.”

Chiara parted her lips, then turned to the person beside her. “Heather…” she called softly.

Heather kept her eyes on the photo in the top left corner for a long moment before finally letting her gaze drift down.

It was Orson’s personal profile, and according to the official records, he was single.

“Is he single?” Heather asked.

“Yeah, single. No kids either,” Titus replied.

The file was pretty basic, just a single sheet. Heather glanced over it, then looked up at Titus.

“Single, no kids… So do you really believe there could be two people in this world who look so much alike?” Heather asked.

Just then, Ryan came running out.

“Dad!” he called out.

Titus turned his head, a smile tugging at his lips. He crouched down, scooped Ryan up, and gave his head a gentle pat.

“Were you good today?” Titus asked.

“Yes!” Ryan nodded, wrapping his arms around Titus’s neck.

Titus and Ryan looked like they were cut from the same mold, just one was a grown-up version and the other was a mini-

But the file Heather was holding, even though the photo was taken years ago, the guy in it looked a lot like Kason.

The resemblance was uncanny; the guy could easily pass for Kason’s twin, at least eighty percent similar.

If anyone said these two weren’t related by blood, who would actually believe something that coincidental could happen?

But deep down, they all knew this wasn’t just some random coincidence.

Titus called Ana over and asked her to take Ryan next door to play.

After Ryan left, Titus sat down across from the two women, looking at Heather and speaking in a low voice.

“If things are really as we suspect, and Kason is Orson’s son, then Orson’s death…” Titus let his words hang in the air.

Chiara’s expression shifted, her fists tightening as she fixed her gaze on Titus, words on the tip of her tongue but unable to speak.

Chiara couldn’t stop thinking about that short recording they’d heard earlier today.

It was pretty obvious now. The stuff that caused Orson’s accident back then had something to do with the Lynch parents.

And Kason had probably already figured out that Orson’s death was linked to Andrew and his wife.

Titus’s eyes darkened. “Heather.”

Heather set the file down and looked at him. “Say it.”

“You should go talk to Kason. It’s better if you two settle this privately,” Titus said.

Chiara turned to Heather, who pressed her lips together.

“I don’t even know where to find him. And are you sure he’d want to see me?” Heather asked.

“I’ll handle it,” Titus said, his voice low and steady.

Heather looked down, her voice trailing off. “Socha teh wird belly because of…”

her chest.

‘I don’t even want to hear the rest, Chiara thought be Because no matter what, she just couldn’t accept that their parents were that kind of people.

Titus’s gaze grew even darker. After a few seconds of heavy silence, he finally spoke in a low voice.

“Only they know for sure what really happened back then. Maybe Kason does too. If you want to know the real truth, you’ll have to hear it straight from him,” Titus said.

It might’ve looked easy for Titus to get Orson’s file, but truth is, he spent the whole afternoon calling in favors just to dig up that single sheet.

That just goes to show how secretive things were back then.

And the more they tried to keep it under wraps, the more it screamed that there were some seriously shady secrets buried beneath the surface.

Heather shut her eyes for a moment, then said, “Okay. Can you set it up for me? I’ll go talk to him.”

Leaving those words behind, Heather went upstairs, not to her bedroom, but straight to the study.

Chiara knew the card reader was locked away in the study’s safe. She got up, anxiety creeping in.

Watching Heather disappear into the study upstairs, Chiara turned to Titus.

“I still can’t believe my parents would do something so heartless just for money. Maybe there’s been some misunderstanding?” Chiara said.

Titus knew the odds were basically zero, but he still nodded anyway, just so Chiara wouldn’t lose hope.

“Maybe,” Titus replied softly.

Chiara bit her lip, frowning. “What is Kason really after?”

Titus looked up toward the second floor, his voice quiet. “He doesn’t lack money or fame anymore. What do you think he wants?”

‘What’s he really after?’ Chiara wondered.

“Justice?” Chiara asked.

They exchanged a look, both falling silent.

But if things really are the way they think, then the only way Kason can get the justice he wants is by crushing the Lynch Group for good.

The next day, Titus put his phone down and turned to Heather.

“He said he’d meet you,” Titus told her.

Heather shot him a quick look and nodded. “Thanks.”

Just as Heather was about to leave, Titus called out, “It’s like every step you take is exactly what he wants.”

Heather paused for a moment, then turned slightly to face him.

“I know,” she said quietly.

Ever since Kason left and Robyn turned on her, Heather started to realize that something just wasn’t right about the whole situation.

It felt like some unseen force was driving her to uncover the truth about what went down in 2000.

But if all of this was playing out exactly as Kason had expected, then that was all the more reason for Heather to confront him herself.

Chiara watched as Heather got into the car and drove off, worry etched on her face. “Is it really okay for her to go alone? Why can’t I go with her?”

Titus walked up behind her, gave her shoulder a gentle pat, and said quietly, “That’s what he asked for.”

‘But I can’t help but worry… Chiara thought.

“He’s not going to hurt Heather. Trust me,” Titus reassured her.

Chiara turned to him. “How do you know?”

Titus looked down at her. “They’ve been mixed up together for two years. If Kason really wanted to hurt her, you really think he wouldn’t have had the chance by now?”

Chiara had been away for two years, so she really had no clue about the complicated history between Heather and Kason. After a long stretch of silence, she finally asked, “Between the two of them…”

Titus looked off in the direction where the car had disappeared, his voice calm. “Only they know what’s really going on between them. But from what I see, Kason has gone easy on her and on the Lynch Group.”

“Why do you say that?” Chiara asked.

“If he wanted to, he could’ve wrecked the Lynch Group any time he wanted in those two years. But he never went for the kill. Now, what happens to the Lynch Group depends on how Heather talks to him. This is the shot Kason’s giving her, Titus explained.

Titus saw right through the whole mess. If Kason really wanted revenge on the Lynch family, he could’ve done it a hundred different ways.

But he never did. It’s almost like he’s been waiting for the right moment.

The flight was pretty short. Kason had chosen to vacation on a private island somewhere in Tropica.

As soon as Heather got off the plane, someone was already waiting to pick her up.

She remained silent the entire time, even as she boarded the helicopter and arrived on the island.

Heather watched the helicopter take off, but instead of heading off to find anyone right away, she paused for a moment, scoping out the island and taking in the scenery.

‘This really is a beautiful place, Heather thought.

“Heather.”

Heather turned at the sound of that familiar voice. The wind whipped around the island, so she had a light scarf draped over her shoulders and sunglasses covering her eyes.

Now that they were face to face again, neither could see the other’s face clearly.

Robyn approached Heather, who hadn’t moved.

“How’ve you been these days?” Robyn asked.

Heather gave a sarcastic smile, took off her sunglasses, and looked at Robyn. “Thanks to you.”

Robyn pressed her lips together and took off her own sunglasses. “He’s waiting for you inside. Come with me.”

Heather nodded and followed her.

They walked in silence all the way, and it wasn’t until they reached the villa’s entrance that Robyn couldn’t hold back anymore and finally spoke up.

“Don’t you have anything you want to ask me?” Robyn asked.
