Chapter 218 You’ll Regret It
Chapter 218 You’ll Regret It
Kason shot her a sidelong glance. “You know she wouldn’t reveal the truth without solid evidence. So why did you still go through with it?”
“I…” Robyn was speechless for a moment.
She stayed quiet for a while before finally saying, “Are these two things even the same?”
Kason let out a mocking laugh. “What’s so different about them?”
Robyn tapped her fingers on the bar, her brows furrowed so tightly they nearly formed a knot.
“She doesn’t even know what her father did, and she’s nothing like him! She’s our way into the Lynch Group, our chance to
dig up what really happened, but you can’t just pin all that blame on her!”
Seeing him fall silent, Robyn took a deep breath. “She just apologized to me for what happened to my dad.”
Kason finally turned to look at her. “She apologized to you?”
Robyn nodded. “Yeah, she did. See? You didn’t have to push things this far!”
Kason’s eyes grew dark as he picked up his glass and downed the rest of his drink in one go.
“It’s not like I wanted things to end up like this,” he muttered.
“Then why did you…?” Robyn pressed.
“I don’t know. The words just slipped out,” Kason replied.
Robyn was completely frozen, staring at him in a daze.
“You…”
Kason idly played with his glass, his tone unreadable. “But honestly, I didn’t mind it at all. In fact, I was almost eager for it.”
Robyn’s breath caught, her eyes wide with disbelief as she looked at him.
Kason turned to face her, his expression unreadable, his gaze inscrutable.
“So, what do you think that means?”
Robyn instinctively stepped back, staring at him in disbelief. “You’re insane.”
Kason’s eyes were bottomless, his lips curled into a smile that was both dangerous and cool.
“Insane?”
He set his glass down, his tone low and meaningful. “Then let’s lose our minds together.”
Leaving those words hanging in the air, Kason brushed past her and walked away.
It took Robyn a long time to snap out of it, and when she did, she slumped against the bar, feeling completely drained.
After what felt like forever, she finally whispered to herself, “You’ll regret this!..”
Heather stepped off the plane and immediately spotted Chiara.
Chiara saw her too, and seeing Heather was alright, she let out a sigh of relief.
Chiara couldn’t help but wonder if Kason had messed with her.
After all, the two of them and Kason were pretty much enemies at this point.
“Heather, are you okay?” Chiara asked, her voice full of concern.
Heather nodded. “I’m fine.”
“So, what did he say?” Chiara pressed.
Heather stayed silent for a long time, then just shook her head, not saying a word.
Chiara kept glancing at Heather in confusion all the way back home.
Heather stayed silent the whole time. Chiara watched Heather’s back as she headed upstairs, her brows drawn tight with
concern.
Heather seemed fine, but Chiara still felt uneasy, so she went after her.
But when Chiara opened the door, she saw Heather getting ready to change her clothes.
But the bruises all over Heather’s body made Chiara freeze in shock.
Heather caught sight of Chiara and hurriedly threw her clothes back on.

Chapter 218 You’ll Regret it
One sister stood frozen by the closet, the other lingered at the doorway. neither said a word.
But the shock in Chiara’s eyes quickly twisted into anger. She gripped the doorknob so tightly her knuckles turned white, her lips pressed together in fury.
The next second, she spun around, ready to march downstairs.
“Where are you going?” Heather called out.
Chiara froze, not even sure herself where she was headed or what she was supposed to do next.
All these years, she’d lived under her family’s protection, and now that trouble had finally come knocking. She realized she didn’t know how to deal with any of it.
She hated herself for being so useless, so cowardly and incapable.
All she could do was stand there, powerless, watching her loved ones get hurt and not being able to do a thing about it.
After a few seconds to steady herself, Chiara turned to Heather. “I’ll go make you some noodles downstairs. You want some?”
Heather just stared at her for a moment, then gave a small nod.
Chiara stood there for a while, watching her, before finally heading downstairs.
Heather went back to her bed and lay down, slowly closing her eyes.
She lifted her hand to shield her eyes, but the tears still streamed down her cheeks.
She’d lived through so much. times of pride, of glory, and of loneliness.
She’d survived the death of her parents and all the hardships the Lynch family had faced.
She’d brushed off all the trouble and harassment at work, never letting it get to her.
With the Goodman Group backing her, things at the Lynch Group hadn’t really been all that tough.
But she just couldn’t handle what Kason did to her.
She couldn’t even bring herself to think about those memories.
Heather gagged, retching hard.
She rolled over, clutching the edge of the bed, her fingers locked in a death grip on the sheets as she dry heaved.
Chiara headed downstairs and into the kitchen. As she watched the water slowly come to a boil, tears started to fall.
‘Was I really lucky?’ Chiara thought to herself.
‘Maybe unlucky, but somehow still lucky…!
Because whenever she hit rock bottom and needed help, there was always someone willing to reach out to her.
‘But what about Heather?’ Chiara thought, her heart aching.
‘She’s always had to shoulder it all herself, just taking all the hits alone.’
When Titus walked in, he saw Chiara crying. He came over, turned off the boiling water, and turned her around by the shoulders.
“Why are you crying? What’s wrong?” Titus asked.
Chiara wiped her tears away and pushed him away, not saying anything.
Titus didn’t mind how distant she was. He just glanced upstairs. “She’s back?”
“Yeah,” Chiara said quietly.
“I’ll go talk to her, Titus said.
Remembering the marks all over Heather, Chiara snatched Titus’s arm. “Don’t go!”
Titus gave her a sidelong look.
Chiara looked up at him, gritting her teeth.
“I’m not letting Heather get tangled up with that monster!” Chiara spat.
Titus went quiet. Just hearing Chiara call Kason a monster made it obvious something awful had happened between Heather and him.
“Call him for me. I’ll handle it myself!” Chiara said, her tone firm.
Titus glanced down at her and asked softly, “What are you planning to say?”
