Chapter 228 Gone On The Wedding Night
Chapter 228 Gone On The Wedding Night
At the same time…
Heather followed the GPS to the address Kason had sent her.
It was a villa in a neighborhood she’d been to before.
As soon as she stepped inside, someone came out to greet her with a big smile.
“Hello, Mrs. Bradford. We’ll be looking after you from now on. This is Mabel, and this is Nancy. I’m Greta Tillman, you can just call me Greta. And we also have a driver named Aaron,” the woman introduced herself and the others.
Heather glanced at them and nodded. “Alright, I’ll be counting on you all from now on.”
“No need to be so polite, Mrs. Bradford. It’s what we’re here for. Mabel, help Mrs. Bradford with her luggage,” Greta said. “Yes, Greta,” Mabel replied.
“Let’s head inside, Mrs. Bradford. Mr. Bradford said since it’s your first day here, I should show you around and see if anything needs changing or if you’re not happy with something,” Greta said.
Heather nodded and followed her in. The villa was done up in the latest contemporary style, very modern, a far cry from the traditional vibe of the Lynch residence.
She just took a look around, keeping her thoughts to herself. This wasn’t home, just a place to crash for now.
“Where’s my room?” Heather asked.
“It’s on the second floor. Come with me, Mrs. Bradford,” Greta replied.
As soon as Heather entered the room, it was obvious from the way things were arranged that Kason stayed here too.
Mabel was already at the closet, about to start hanging up Heather’s clothes for her.
“It’s alright, Mabel. I’ll do it myself. You all can go do your own thing,” Heather said.
Mabel looked over at Greta, and only after she nodded did Mabel step away.
Greta smiled at Heather. “Mrs. Bradford, is there anything you don’t eat or any foods you avoid?”
Heather shook her head. “Nope, I’m good with anything.”
“Okay then, I’ll come up and let you know when it’s time to eat,” Greta said.
Once everyone left, Heather opened up the closet. It was already packed with brand-new clothes, all her style. One look and she knew someone had picked them out just for her.
She made some room, hung up her own clothes one by one, then shoved her suitcase into the walk-in closet.
She didn’t even bother to look around. She just didn’t care.
She turned and stared at the bed behind her, standing there for ages without moving.
Heather’s phone was blowing up with messages. Everyone wished her a happy wedding night.
But Heather didn’t bother to reply to any of them.
Half an hour later, Nancy knocked on the door and called her downstairs for dinner.
Heather got up and went downstairs. They’d laid out a feast. Eight dishes in all. She pulled out a chair, sat down, and ate in silence.
The others didn’t bat an eye at her quietness.
After dinner, Heather set down her fork and was about to head upstairs when she heard movement at the door.
“Sounds like Mr. Bradford’s back,” Greta said.
Saying that, she stood up to go greet him.
Heather’s movements slowed, and she just sat there quietly, her eyes fixed on the front door.
But instead of Kason, it was Robyn who walked in.
Robyn paused when she saw Heather, and the housekeepers clearly recognized her.
“Hello, Miss Irving,” one of the housekeepers greeted.
Robyn nodded, grabbed her slippers from the Successfully unlocked! he’d done it a hundred times, then headed
straight for the dining table.
She pulled out the chair across from Heather and sat down.

“I’m just here to mooch a meal,” Robyn sald.
Greta glanced at both of them and told Nancy to grab another plate and fork.
Heather looked at her and said, “I’m done. Take your time and eat.”
Robyn stared at her for a few seconds before asking, “Don’t you want to know why I carne over?”
Heather was already getting up, but when she heard that, she actually asked.
“So, why’d you show up?”
She asked, but there wasn’t a hint of curiosity on her face.
Robyn was speechless for a few seconds before finally saying, “I’ll be staying here tonight.”
Greta glanced at both of them, and when her eyes met Heather’s. Heather was already looking right back at her.
“Mrs. Bradford…” Greta hesitated.
Heather looked at Greta and asked, “There’s a room for her here, right?”
Greta paused, glanced at Robyn, and nodded. “Yes, there is.”
Heather nodded. “I’m still new here, so suit yourself.”
With that, she turned and went upstairs. Robyn frowned at Heather’s indifference, unable to hold back a comment.
“He’s out at the club having a good time, so I just came over to keep you company. Don’t get me wrong, that’s all,” Robyn said.
She was only worried Heather might misunderstand, but what Robyn didn’t realize was that Heather wasn’t the type to jump to conclusions.
Even after hearing that, Heather didn’t even pause. With everyone watching, she headed straight upstairs and into her room.
Greta glanced at Robyn and asked, “Is Mr. Bradford not coming home tonight?”
Robyn picked up her fork and snarked, “Are you kidding? He’s not just skipping tonight. He’s probably out all night!”
After dinner and a shower, Robyn lingered outside Heather’s door for what felt like ages, torn between knocking and just walking away.
In the end, she didn’t knock. She just sighed quietly, turned around, and headed back to her own room.
Robyn actually had her own place, and she never meant to come over tonight.
She just ran into Kason after work, totally by chance.
She figured he was heading home, but turned out he was headed to the club to party instead.
She’d already warned Kason not to make things ugly, and definitely not to go overboard.
But he didn’t care at all. He even joked about her tagging along.
She shot him down right then and there, face cold as ice. But Kason just waved her off and took off like he couldn’t care less.
She didn’t believe for a second that he hadn’t done it on purpose.
She was worried about Heather, and before she knew it, she’d driven straight to the villa.
But Heather didn’t seem to care at all. Robyn couldn’t help but think to herself,
‘Does any of this even matter?’
Kason really didn’t come home that night. Earlier that day, Lynch Group had just gone public with the news that he and Heather were officially married, and the very next day, Kason dropped a bombshell. an explosive scandal that set the internet on fire..
Robyn was up early, and Heather had already changed into her work suit. When she came downstairs and saw Robyn, she greeted her first.
“Morning,” Heather said.
Robyn took a sip of her milk and looked at her. “Morning.”
Greta shot a quick glance at Heather.
After Heather sat down, Robyn said bluntly, “Your husband’s all over the news.”
Heather took a sip of her coffee and looked up at her.
Robyn slid her phone over to Heather.

Heather had no choice but to lower her eyes and take a look.
The photos showed Kason cozying up to some woman, leaving the club and heading straight for a hotel. And the headlines were even more eye-catching.
Seriously, they were some utterly shameless, just pure clickbait to grab attention.
“Newlywed caught cheating on his wedding night without even bothering to hide it. Why did they even get married?”
Heather just took a quick look and pushed the phone back toward Robyn.
Robyn watched Heather’s expression closely. “You’re not mad?”
Heather paused for a moment, then looked up at her, her face calm. “Why should I be?”
“Come on, he ditched you on your wedding night and ran off to a hotel with another woman. Doesn’t that make you angry?” Robyn couldn’t help pressing.
He didn’t even bother coming home on their wedding night, just went off to a hotel with another woman, totally trampling all over Heather’s dignity and making her a laughingstock for everyone to see.
‘How is she not absolutely furious?’ Robyn wondered, honestly stunned.
“I’m not angry,” Heather replied, her voice calm and indifferent.
Greta couldn’t help but give Heather another glance. Even if this marriage was just a business arrangement with zero real feelings, what Kason did was a slap in the face.
But Heather just sat there like it was no big deal, totally unfazed as if she honestly didn’t care at all.
Robyn just stared at her, totally at a loss for words.
Heather calmly finished her breakfast, then finally shot Robyn a look.
“I’m done, you go ahead and finish. I’m off to work,” she said, her voice steady as ever.
Robyn could only stare as Heather walked away, totally at a loss for words.
