Chapter 230 For My Wife To Eat?
Chapter 230 For My Wife To Eat?
Everyone in the conference room watched the minutes tick by, but neither Kason nor Heather showed up.
People started exchanging glances and whispering among themselves.
Robyn sat there with a cold, unyielding expression. She looked so distant and unapproachable that even the person sitting next to her, who might have wanted to get some inside info, didn’t dare say a word to her.
After what felt like ages, Gael finally pushed open the conference room door.
Only then did Kason walk in. Robyn turned to look at him, and when she noticed his hair was still wet, her gaze grew even frostier.
Kason glanced around the suddenly silent room, a faint smirk on his lips as he took the seat Heather usually occupied.
“Mr. Bradford, where’s Ms. Lynch? Why isn’t she here?” someone asked.
Even though Kason had done a lot for Lynch Group over the past couple of years, most people still felt more loyal to Heather.
Kason’s business tactics commanded respect, and no one could deny his authority.
But for the staff, most of them would rather have Heather as their boss.
At least with her, they didn’t have to be so cautious and alert all the time.
But Kason said coolly, “What? We can’t have this meeting without her?”
“N-no, of course not, it’s just…” one of the staff stammered.
Kason smirked, tapping his index finger lightly on the table.
“I know this is new for some of you, but you’d better get used to it. From now on, I’m the one in charge of the Lynch Group,” he said.
People started murmuring in low voices.
Still, a couple of people stood up and directly addressed Robyn.
“Mr. Bradford, we’re all glad to have you back, but why is Miss Irving here again?” one of them asked.
“Yeah, Mr. Bradford, we really need an explanation for this,” another added.
Robyn’s face grew even colder, but she didn’t say a word. She just stood up and walked out of the conference room.
“What’s up with her?” someone muttered, sounding confused.
“Yeah, exactly…” another chimed in.
Kason gave her a look before turning away. “Since everyone’s dying to know, let me clear things up for you.”
“I was the one who asked her to do that.”
“What? Why?” one of the staff blurted out.
“Seriously, Mr. Bradford, why did you do that?” another chimed in.
“That’s just…” someone muttered, unable to finish.
Kason’s voice went cold. “Do I owe you an explanation?”
Everyone instantly clammed up, not daring to say another word.
Kason was nothing like Heather. She’d hear everyone out, good or bad.
But after working with Kason for two years, everyone knew just how domineering he could be.
Even though Heather was still technically in charge, even she couldn’t really stop Kason from doing whatever he wanted.
The power dynamic between the two was crystal clear. There was no question who held the upper hand.
So even though everyone in the room knew there had to be some hidden reason behind their sudden marriage, nobody dared to ask a single question..
Kason swept his gaze over the crowd, his tone icy. “If you really want an explanation, just say I wanted to marry Heather, so I used Lynch Group to force her.”
“Wait, what?” someone blurted out.
“Ah, this…” another stammered.
Successfully unlocked!
“He threatened her? What the hell is that supposed to mean?” someone muttered.

“That’s just insane…” someone else added.
“Is he treating the company like a joke?” another chimed in.
Kason tapped the table again, his gaze icy. “Anyone else got something to say?”
With that, the whispers died down. No matter what they were thinking, nobody dared to speak up.
After all, Kason was the one calling the shots at Lynch Group now.
Kason glanced around at everyone in the room, leaning back in his chair with his hands folded, sounding completely uninterested.
“No more questions? Then let’s get this meeting started,” he drawled.
Meanwhile…
After leaving the conference room, Robyn made her way back to her office.
As she opened the door, Heather emerged from the lounge.
Her shirt was torn again, but luckily, there were a few spare outfits stashed in the lounge for her.
The two women locked eyes for a moment, but neither spoke.
Heather looked away and tossed the ruined shirt into the trash.
Robyn watched her back, noticing her fists slowly clenching.
“Are you okay?” Robyn asked.
Heather finally turned to face her, and asked straight out, “Have you slept with him?”
Robyn was caught off guard. She really hadn’t expected Heather to ask something like that. But she just shook her head.
“No.”
Heather just nodded, not saying anything else.
Robyn couldn’t figure out why Heather would suddenly ask her that.
“He’s never accepted me,” Robyn said quietly.
Heather tilted her head, shooting her a look. “Because he pretends to be a decent guy when you’re around.”
Robyn caught the sarcasm, and for a second, she was at a loss for words.
“You…”
Heather sat down in her chair and glanced up at her. “Did you need something?”
Robyn watched her for a moment, then, seeing Heather was fine, shook her head.
“Nothing, I’ll leave now,” Robyn said.
Heather watched Robyn leave, her expression unreadable. Only after the door closed did she quietly reach for the intercom.
“Come in,” she said.
Her secretary stepped in quickly. “Ms. Lynch, is there something you need?”
“Could you pick up a box of birth control pills for me?” Heather said.
The secretary hesitated for a moment, then nodded quickly.
“Of course, Ms. Lynch. I’ll get it right away,” she replied.
After the secretary left, Heather leaned back in her chair and slowly closed her eyes.
After a while, she muttered a few words under her breath, barely audible.
It sounded like she was saying, ‘So disgusting.’
She slowly opened her eyes, pulled out her phone, and dialed a number.
“This is Heather. I need a favor. Do you have a moment?” she said.
“There’s a guy named Mr. Leigh from Halinston, about sixty years old. Can you check his info for me? Or maybe find out where he’s living now?”
“Alright, thanks. I’ll wait for your call,” she said.
Chase Leigh was someone Heather suddenly remembered last night.
He used to be her father’s assistant, but she remembered he left Lynch Group when she was just a little kid.
It had been so long that she’d completely forgotten he even existed.
