Chapter 233 I’m No Good?

Chapter 233 I’m No Good?

Heather didn’t call Chiara back until early the next morning.

Chiara just wanted to know if anything happened last night.

Heather told her not to worry, she was totally fine.

Chiara still looked worried, so Heather switched to a video call.

Once Chiara saw on video that Heather looked totally normal, she finally felt relieved, and they hung up.

Heather did have some marks on her, but they were all hidden away where nobody else would ever notice.

“Ryan, breakfast’s ready! Come on over!” Chiara called out.

Normally, as soon as Ryan heard his name, he’d come running over.

But today, even after Chiara called him twice, Ryan didn’t respond at all.

So she had no choice but to walk over with his little plate.

That was when she saw Ryan staring intently at the projector screen.

Chiara followed his gaze and realized he was watching an episode all about amusement parks.

Everything in the show had Ryan totally hooked.

Chiara watched for a moment, then gently tapped Ryan’s shoulder and said softly.

“Ryan, do you want to go try those out too?” she asked.

Ryan turned to her, his eyes lighting up as he nodded excitedly.

“Mommy, I want to!” he exclaimed.

Chiara’s lips curved in a gentle smile as she patted his head. It hit her that she’d never actually taken him out to play before.

She just wanted to keep Ryan safe, to shield him from anything that might hurt him.

But Ryan was a boy, after all. She couldn’t shelter him the way she would a little girl.

“Let’s eat first. Mommy will take you to have fun tomorrow, okay?” Chiara said softly.

Ryan didn’t say much, but he always understood whatever the adults were talking about.

He gave a big, obedient nod. “Okay!”

So when Titus came over that evening, Ryan immediately dropped his toy and ran straight to him.

“Daddy!” Ryan called out, his face lighting up.

Titus raised an eyebrow. Sure, Ryan hugged him every day, but now the kid was practically bouncing with excitement. He scooped Ryan up, ruffled his hair, and glanced over at Chiara.

Chiara noticed his curious look and said, “I told Ryan I’d take him to the amusement park tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow?” Titus asked.

Chiara nodded. “Yeah.”

Titus nodded too. “I’ll go with you guys.”

Chiara glanced at him. “Are you sure you’ve got time for that?”

She really doubted he’d have the time, especially since it was all so last-minute.

Titus sat down with Ryan in his arms, grabbed a toy, and started playing with him. He just started chatting as he played, like it was the most natural thing in the world.

“Even if I’m busy, I’ll always make time for my family.”

Chiara looked at him calmly.

Titus met her gaze and realized what he’d just said.

“Just a figure of speech.”

Chiara finally looked away. “Should we tell your parents? Tomorrow will be Ryan’s first time at the amusement park.”

Titus raised an eyebrow. “Yeah.”

“Go ahead and call them,” Chiara suggested.

Successfully unlocked!

Chiara figured Ryan would be even happier with his grandparents around.

The more, the merrier. Ryan’s happiness level would be off the charts.

“You call them. I’ll play with Ryan for a bit,” Titus said.

Chiara glanced over and saw Titus had already ditched his suit jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and was busy assembling toy guns with Ryan.

She got up, grabbed her phone from the couch, and dialed.

“Hi Mom, it’s me. We’re planning to take Ryan to the amusement park tomorrow. If you and Dad are free, would you like to join us?” Chiara asked.

“Alright, sounds good. See you tomorrow,” Chiara said, then hung up.

After hanging up, Chiara was about to head to the kitchen when Titus caught sight of her and called out.

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to brew some herbal medicine,” Chiara replied.

At that, Titus felt his temples start to ache.

“Wait a second…” Titus said.

Chiara turned back to him. “What’s up?”

Titus stared at her for a few seconds before asking, “Do you really have to take this herbal medicine every single day?”

“Of course. The doctor prescribed it for a month. Don’t you want to take it anymore?” Chiara replied.

“No, that’s not it,” Titus said.

Chiara frowned at him, waiting for him to continue.

Titus pressed his lips together, then suddenly cleared his throat.

“Did the herbal medicine doctor ever say we’re supposed to be intimate every single day too?” Titus asked.

Chiara was caught off guard. She realized she’d never actually asked about that before.

“Isn’t that what we’re supposed to do?” Chiara replied.

‘Since I’m taking this medicine every day, shouldn’t we be doing it every day too? Otherwise, what’s the point?’ Chiara thought to herself.

Titus’s temples throbbed even harder.

“Maybe you should check with the herbal medicine doctor again?” Titus suggested.

Chiara shot him a suspicious look. “Titus, what are you getting at?”

‘Is he trying to avoid being intimate with me?’ Chiara wondered.

Titus wasn’t trying to back out, but honestly, that medicine was giving him some pretty rough side effects.

He kept a straight face. “Maybe we’re not doing it the right way.”

“What’s wrong with it?” Chiara asked. Then, as if something suddenly occurred to her, her brows furrowed and her eyes drifted down to a very specific spot on him.

Titus caught her look and his expression instantly changed, his face turning a little pale.

“You…”

“Are you just weak, or can’t get it up anymore?” Chiara shot back, cutting him off.

But as soon as she said it, Titus’s face, which was already pretty grim, went even darker.

Titus stared at her, and her questioning look made him so exasperated that he actually let out an incredulous laugh.

“You think I can’t do it?” Titus shot back, his tone incredulous.

Chiara instantly realized what she’d just said, especially when she saw how awful his expression was. She started avoiding his gaze, feeling awkward.

She’d just blurted it out without thinking at all…

“I mean, I was just…” Chiara stammered, trying to explain herself.

Titus let out a cold laugh, got up from the carpet, yanked off his tie and tossed it aside. His eyes were pitch black, burning

with a storm he was barely holding back as he locked his gaze on her, intense and dangerous.

Chiara’s scalp tingled under his stare, and she couldn’t help but take a step back.

“What are you trying to do?”
