Chapter 234 Emotionally Challenged?

Chapter 234 Emotionally Challenged?

Chiara’s legs felt weak as she made her way downstairs, gripping the handrail for support. She was clenching her jaw in annoyance.

She was pissed because Titus had missed their chance to have a baby this time.

Once she reached the bottom, Chiara clenched her fists and couldn’t help but look up at the second floor, shouting angrily,” Titus, you jerk!”

After shouting, Chiara turned away with a cold expression and stormed off.

When she got back, she saw Lindsay and Ana sitting in the living room, chatting and snacking.

When Lindsay saw her, she checked the time and let out a yawn.

“Mrs. Goodman, you’re back. Guess I’ll head out now…” Lindsay said.

Chiara felt a bit awkward but still nodded.

Ana gave her a warm smile and asked, “Do you want me to make you some late-night food?”

Chiara was about to say no, but her stomach rumbled. She’d burned a lot of energy after everything that just happened. She nodded. “Could you make me a bowl of noodles? I’ll go check on Ryan upstairs first.”

“Sure!” Ana replied.

The next day, Chiara dressed Ryan up to look especially bright and dapper.

When Adele saw her precious grandson, she couldn’t stop smiling. She hugged Ryan tightly and showered him with kisses.

“Ryan, did you miss Grandma?” Adele asked.

Ryan, being the bright kid he was, wrapped his arms around Adele’s neck and said sweetly, “I missed you, Grandma!”

“Aww, Grandma missed you too, honey!” Adele cooed.

Charlie, watching from the side, joined in and asked, “Ryan, did you miss Grandpa?”

Ryan looked at Charlie and nodded, “I missed you too, Grandpa!”

Chiara couldn’t help but smile, pride written all over her face as she watched her son.

Adele couldn’t help but laugh at how clever Ryan was.

“Ryan, looks like you’re playing fair and not picking favorites, huh?” Adele joked.

Ryan didn’t really get what she meant, but seeing everyone else laughing, he just grinned along.

After Charlie took Ryan from Adele, she turned to Chiara.

“Chiara, shall we head out?” Adele asked.

Chiara glanced toward the next room and nodded.

“Okay,” Chiara replied.

Adele caught her glance at the newly opened wall and asked, “Is he coming with us too?”

Chiara nodded.

Charlie made a face. “Why bother bringing him?”

His obvious dislike left Chiara stumped for a moment. even though, honestly, she kind of agreed.

“Hey, that’s my son you’re holding,” Titus called out from the next room, his tone easy and calm.

Everyone turned to look. Today, Titus had ditched the suit for some casual, trendy clothes. His hair, usually slicked back, hung loose, softening his whole vibe and making him look almost laid-back, a far cry from his usual sharpness.

Chiara watched him for a few seconds before glancing away. For a moment, it almost felt like she was seeing Titus from

years ago.

But it was just a brief flash. The old rush in her heart was nowhere to be found.

Charlie gave him a once-over. “We’re just takin Successfully unlocked! do, or are you just slacking off?”

Why are you coming? Don’t you have work to

Titus gave his dad a look of pure annoyance and scooped Ryan right out of his arms.

“Even if I’m swamped, I’ll always make time for my kid. Not like you,” Titus said.

Charlie got roasted. “Hey, what’s that supposed to mean, you little punk? If I hadn’t busted my ass back then, would you be living easy now? You’re just reaping the whole empire I worked day and night to build!”

Adele frowned at the two of them and cut in with a warning.

“If you two keep bickering, neither of you is going. Chiara and I can handle it just fine,” she said.

Charlie scurried over to Adele, looking for backup like a kid tattling on his sibling.

“Babe, say something to him!” he grumbled.

Adele shot him a look of pure annoyance. “Oh, please, just zip it. Titus isn’t close to you because you never took him out when he was little. You want Ryan to end up the same way?”

Charlie instantly went quiet, awkwardly scratching his nose and not saying another word.

Adele flashed Chiara a warm smile. “Come on, Chiara, let’s go.”

Chiara nodded. “Yeah.”

With that, the two of them got into the car ahead of everyone else.

That left Charlie and Titus just exchanging awkward glances.

Charlie glanced at Ryan in Titus’s arms. “Uh, mind if I hold him?”

Titus barely cracked a smile and absentmindedly patted Ryan’s head.

“You never even held your own son, so why bother with your grandson now?” Titus replied.

Charlie was speechless. ‘Is this kid for real? What a piece of work.’

When they got to the amusement park, they were surprised to find it wasn’t crowded at all.

Chiara pulled out her phone to check the date. ‘It’s Saturday. Why is it so empty?” she wondered.

She glanced over at Titus, who caught her eye and looked back.

“That was me,” Titus said. “Too crowded is risky. Empty is no fun.”

He had someone buy up two-thirds of the tickets yesterday.

Chiara had no comeback for that.

She’d also worried about the amusement park being unsafe when it was crowded

Honestly, she had to admit that Titus really did think of everything.

Ryan’s eyes lit up the moment he saw all the rides and attractions. He was practically bouncing with excitement.

For the tamer rides, Chiara and Adele took turned keeping Ryan company.

This was the biggest amusement park in Halinston, packed with all kinds of rides and attractions. It would take a whole day to try everything out.

And that was only if they didn’t have to wait in line.

With the park this empty today, they didn’t have to wait in line at all.

Maybe it was because they looked amazing and had an unmistakable aura about them…
