Chapter 239 Never Loved
Chapter 239 Never Loved
Chiara grabbed the glass and said, “I can handle it.”
Titus had already grabbed his drink and downed two shots in a row.
Vera started clapping right away. “Come on, keep going!”
Chiara glanced at Titus and said, “You don’t have to drink for me.”
Titus shot her a sideways glance. She looked all flushed and mellow, probably thanks to the hot spring. She wasn’t as distant as she usually was.
Her tone was gentle and playful, almost like she was acting cute.
He swallowed hard. “Are you afraid of getting drunk?”
Chiara was definitely worried about getting drunk, but she thought, ‘There’s no way I’m that unlucky to keep losing, right?”
But as it turned out, she was just that unlucky.
She could always answer when it was someone else’s turn, but the moment it was her own, her mind went totally blank.
So she just gave up and let Titus drink for her. If she’d had to drink herself, she would’ve been totally wasted by now.
By the end of the game, Titus had basically finished off the whole bottle of red wine by himself.
Chiara quickly waved her hands. “Forget it, I’m running out of words. You guys keep playing. I’ll just sit back and enjoy the show.”
Once she bowed out, Titus turned the tables without even breaking a sweat.
Vera ended up being the one who lost.
Chiara watched as Vera’s cheeks flushed bright red and her eyes grew glassy. Wilbert had to hold her up just so she wouldn’t topple over, but even though she was slurring her words, she was still trying to rally everyone to keep going.
Wilbert gritted his teeth and shot her a look. “You’re such a lightweight, but you’re still so eager to play?”
“I wanna play! Whose turn is it? Hurry up!” Vera slurred, her voice dragging out the words.
Wilbert tried to take her place and drink for her, but Vera stubbornly refused to let him.
Vera could usually hold her liquor, but with everyone soaking in the hot spring and the hot water speeding up everyone’s circulation, the booze hit her way faster than usual.
Finally, Vera was totally done for and just passed out. Wilbert, looking pretty annoyed, hauled her out of the pool. Once they were out of the water, he gave everyone a look and said, “You guys keep having fun. I’m gonna get her back to her room so she can crash.”
Chiara figured it was about time to wrap things up, especially since she was starting to feel a little dizzy herself.
“I’m heading back, too,” she said, slowly making her way toward the edge of the pool.
But her bathrobe was already soaked from the water. Titus said quietly from behind her, “Wear mine.”
Chiara didn’t hesitate. They’d already been intimate, so wearing his bathrobe was no big deal. She wasn’t about to make a fuss over it.
As she stepped out of the water, her curves were impossible to miss.
But she quickly wrapped herself in Titus’s bathrobe, then glanced back at the others still lounging in the pool.
“I’ll go get you a fresh one,” she said.
Titus replied, “Just leave it at the door.”
Chiara nodded and turned to leave.
The girl in Jeffrey’s arms suddenly felt the vibe was a little off.
She couldn’t help sneaking a look at Titus. The man all her classmates dreamed of marrying really was as amazing as everyone said.
Sure, he’d been divorced and had a kid, but that didn’t make him any less attractive.

But after watching him for a while, it was obvicatastal af gritton per his ex-wife, Chiara.
“Head back and wait for me,” Jeffrey said.
Successfully unlocked!
The girl nodded right away. “Alright, I’ll go wait in the room.”

Chapter 239 Never Loved
Once the last lady left, the spacious pool was left to just the two bros.
After Chiara got out of the pool, she went to ask the staff for a bathrobe.
When she came back and set the bathrobe on the chair by the door, just as she was about to remind Titus, she overheard a conversation inside.
“Serenity’s death anniversary is coming up. You’re not going this year?” Jeffrey asked.
‘Death anniversary? Serenity?’ Chiara recognized Jeffrey’s voice, her mind racing.
‘Are they talking about Serenity? That ill-fated beauty?’ Chiara wondered.
She straightened up, holding her breath, not sure why she didn’t just walk away but stayed put instead.
She knew she was basically eavesdropping, but she couldn’t bring herself to leave.
“You can go every year,” Titus said, his voice flat and emotionless.
“You’re not even going to visit your own ex-girlfriend? You want me to do it for you?” Jeffrey shot back.
“You don’t have to go either,” Titus replied coolly.
Jeffrey stared at Titus for a long moment, then gave a crooked smile. “So now it’s just Chiara in your heart and mind, huh? You’ve completely forgotten about Serenity?”
Titus met his eyes. “What, you expect me to spend my whole life pining after her?”
With that, he turned away, not interested in dragging this out any longer.
Jeffrey glanced toward the door and suddenly asked, “Did you ever love Serenity at all?”
Titus paused, then turned back to him with a cool look. “When did I ever say I loved her?”
Jeffrey’s eyes darkened, his jaw tightening as he let out a cold snort.
“If you didn’t love her, then why did you fight me for her?” Jeffrey shot back.
“Fight you?” Titus replied coolly. “Did she ever actually like you?”
Jeffrey narrowed his eyes. “If you didn’t love her, then why did you even date her? If it weren’t for you, she wouldn’t be dead. Titus, you’re the one who’s completely responsible for her death!”
Chiara frowned. ‘Completely responsible?’
Titus’s eyes grew dark. He asked, “You know?”
Jeffrey’s face grew even colder. “Know what? That you, Titus, are so damn irresistible you made two sisters turn on each other because of you?”
Chiara’s brow twitched. ‘Turned on each other?’
Titus’s jaw tightened, and he didn’t say a word for a long moment.
It really was his screw-up. If he’d known Elaine was the kind of psycho who would go so far as to harm her own sister, he never would’ve gotten tangled up with both Jensen sisters.
Jeffrey grabbed his glass and downed it in one go, his voice low and heavy.
“Elaine was so obsessed with you that she messed with Serenity’s car, just to take out her own sister. She probably never imagined their parents would be in the car, too,” Jeffrey said.
Chiara clapped a hand over her mouth, staring at the curtain in shock.
‘Serenity’s death was all because of Elaine? And their parents got dragged into it too?’ Chiara thought.
