Chapter 244 Ran Away With The Baby
Chapter 244 Ran Away With The Baby
After breakfast, the three groups went their separate ways.
The atmosphere at breakfast wasn’t exactly cheerful.
Only Oliver and Vera were chatting and laughing at the table.
After returning to the Goodman manor, Chiara went to see Debby first.
“Grandma!” Chiara called out.
Debby’s face lit up when she saw Chiara. She waved her over, her voice full of warmth. “Chiara, come here, come here.”
Chiara smiled and walked over to Debby, sitting cross-legged on the floor beside her.
“Grandma, what are you looking at?” Chiara asked.
“I’m looking at the photos from yesterday,” Debby replied.
“What photos?” Chiara asked.
“Here, take a look. What do you think?” Debby said, handing her the photos.
Chiara looked down and, sure enough, there were tons of photos, and all of them were shots of us at the amusement park yesterday.
“These were taken yesterday? How did I not notice at all?” Chiara asked, surprised.
“I had someone take them,” Debby said with a warm smile. “My old bones couldn’t keep up with my precious great- grandson at the amusement park, so I had someone tag along and snap pictures of you all. They turned out pretty great, don’t you think?”
Chiara took the photos and started flipping through them one by one. Honestly, even though they were taken secretly and on the fly, they all turned out really well.
Everyone in the photos was beaming with happiness.
If someone didn’t know any better, they’d think they were a warm, happy family.
There were quite a few photos, at least twenty of them.
Chiara looked through each one, then nodded. “They really did turn out great.”
Debby took off her glasses and looked at Chiara with a gentle, loving gaze.
“Chiara, does it bother you that that rascal moved in next door?” Debby asked.
Chiara looked up at Debby and shook her head. “Not at all. Because Ryan’s happy, I’m not bothered at all.”
As long as Ryan was happy, Chiara was happy too.
One would never really get just how much a mother is willing to compromise and give up for her child until they become
one themselves.
That was why people always said parents have the most selfless hearts in the world.
Back then, Chiara didn’t understand. But now, she truly did.
Every parent out there felt the same way, no matter where they were.
“Good, as long as you’re not bothered. If he ever gives you trouble or makes you upset, just let me know. I’ll set him straight!” Debby said.
Chiara shook her head. “Grandma, he really hasn’t. Don’t worry about it.”
“Alright, alright,” Debby said, patting Chiara’s shoulder affectionately.
Titus dropped Chiara off at the Goodman manor before heading to work, and Chiara spent the whole day with Debby.
It wasn’t until after dinner that she finally got ready to leave.
“Grandma, I’ll take Ryan home now. I’ll come visit you another day,” Chiara said.
“Alright, alright. You two be careful on your way,” Debby replied.
Titus opened the back door and made sure Chiara and Ryan got in safely.
“Let’s go,” he said, closing the door behind the Successfully unlocked! As the car pulled away, Charlie couldn’t help but sign, that way?”

Chapter 244 Ran Away With The Baby
Adele shot him a glance. “Wasn’t that all your idea?”
Charlie instantly clammed up and took her hand, trying to win her over.
“I’m not as stubborn as he is, am I, babe?” Charlie said.
Adele gave a soft snort, brushed his hand away, and turned to walk into the courtyard.
Charlie turned his gaze back to Debby. “Mom, let’s go inside.”
Debby nodded, resting her hand on his arm. “Your son gives me way more trouble than you ever did.”
“Tell me about it. Beats me who he got that from…”
Debby gave him a look and shook her head. “You and your son are two peas in a pod, and you still have the nerve to complain?”
“Come on, I’m just joking. Take it slow, Mom,” Charlie said.
On the way home, Chiara’s phone rang. It was Eunice calling.
Chiara glanced at the caller ID and realized it had been days since they last spoke.
Chiara picked up, a little surprised. “Hey, Eunice?”
“Hey, babe, did you miss me?” Eunice teased.
“I missed you! Where have you been? You’ve totally disappeared lately,” Chiara replied.
“Oh, don’t even get me started. I just got back to Halinston!” Eunice said.
“Wait, you just got back? Where’d you go?” Chiara asked.
“Went to catch someone!” Eunice replied, sounding playful.
“Catch someone? What are you talking about?” Chiara asked, puzzled.
“You know, that girl who’s carrying my brother’s baby!” Eunice teased.
“So, what did you guys end up doing about it?” Chiara asked.
“What else could we do? She’s already three or four months pregnant, and the doctor said it’s a boy, too. My parents were thrilled. They instantly agreed the two should get married!” Eunice said.
Chiara wasn’t surprised. “And then?”
“My brother agreed, of course. It’s his kid, after all. Her parents were totally fine with it too. We thought we had everything figured out, but turns out the girl herself wasn’t having it. The moment she heard about marrying my brother, guess what she did?” Eunice said.
Chiara remembered Eunice saying she’d been out of Halinston lately, and it all clicked.
“She ran away?” Chiara guessed.
“You totally nailed it! She actually bolted while pregnant, hiding out all over the place. It took me days to track her down, but even after I found her, it was no use.
“She’s my future sister-in-law, and she’s got a bun in the oven, but she absolutely refused to come back with me or marry my brother. I had no choice but to send my brother over there himself,” Eunice said.
“You know what they say. If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself. Once my brother got there, I headed back. These past few days have been a total nightmare. Even with my nephew on board, that girl’s got some serious moves.
“She actually ran off to some backwater to be a volunteer teacher. Seriously, what is she thinking? Doesn’t being Mrs. Murphy sound way better? Why’s she gotta go rough it out in some poor mountain? I seriously don’t get what girls are thinking these days!” Eunice said.
Chiara grinned. “So you just ditched them and came back on your own?”
“What else was I supposed to do? I already did my part by tracking her down. It’s his mess to clean up now. If he wants her back, he’ll have to work his own magic,” Eunice replied.
The way Eunice used the word “work his magic” totally cracked Chiara up.
