Chapter 245 Chiara Is Back?

Chapter 245 Chiara Is Back?

“So, do you think your brother will be able to talk that girl into coming back?” Chiara asked.

“I think it’ll be pretty tough. I’ve been trying for days and couldn’t get her to come back. How could he possibly succeed so quickly?” Eunice replied.

Before Eunice could finish speaking, she heard a noise coming from outside the window.

“Chiara, hang on a sec…” she said, grabbing her phone, hopping off the bed, and walking over to the window to take a look outside.

What she saw left her totally shocked. Eric had actually managed to bring the girl back.

Plus, the two of them looked way too close for comfort.

The girl was so slim and fragile that her four-month bump was already showing. Anyone could see she was a pregnant girl.

She looked so young, almost like a kid.

She wore a white dress with a pullover sweater, her long hair braided into a single plait, making her look even more youthful and innocent.

Seeing this, Eunice couldn’t help thinking to herself, ‘Seriously, what a beast…’

“Eric?” Eunice called out.

Eric finally looked up at her when he heard her voice.

But at that moment, he was already walking the girl into the villa, hand in hand.

Chiara, still on the phone, obviously heard the commotion and couldn’t help asking, “Eric’s back?”

“Not only is he back, he brought my little sister-in-law with him! And they’re even holding hands!” Eunice couldn’t help blurting out, sounding totally thrilled.

Chiara asked again, “I still don’t know what her name is.”

“Her name is Nancy,” Eunice replied.

“That’s a really pretty name,” Chiara said.

“Yeah, it is…” Eunice was just about to say more when there was a knock at the door.

“Miss, Mrs. Goodman wants you to come downstairs,” a voice called from outside.

“Got it,” Eunice replied, heading for the door. She said into the phone, “I gotta go. My mom’s calling me downstairs. She probably wants to talk about those two.”

“Alright, bye,” Chiara said.

“Bye,” Eunice replied.

When Eunice came downstairs, she spotted Nancy sitting right next to Eric, looking all shy and nervous, like a little lost

kitten.

She just seemed so helpless. It was honestly kind of heartbreaking.

And Eric was just chilling there, casually fiddling with her braid like he owned the place.

“Hey Mom, Dad, Eric…” Eunice called out as she walked in.

Nancy glanced up timidly at Eunice when she heard her voice. “Ms. Murphy…” she murmured.

Eunice flashed her a quick smile. “Nancy, you’re back?”

Kendrick and Helen looked at Nancy, who seemed so soft and easy to push around, then glanced at Eric, just sitting there all laid-back,

Back then, they’d even suspected Nancy might have some ulterior motives or was trying to pull something.

But now, it was obvious to anyone how pure-hearted she really was.

Just bringing up marriage was enough to freak her out and make her run for it.

Helen cleared her throat softly. “Nancy, do you not like Eric?”

Nancy paused, looking a little lost as she turne Successfully unlocked!

Eric caught her gaze, a teasing smile playing on pe aici, gave iter earlobe a gentle squeeze, and whispered in her ear.

“Why are you looking at me? Mom’s talking to you. You want me to speak for you, huh?”

Eunice was left gaping at them from the sidelines. ‘Seriously? Are you two flirting right in front of me? she thought, half in disbelief.

Nancy blushed hard at his playful teasing, shaking her head like crazy.

“No, no, no…” she blurted out, barely audible.

Eric watched her, noticing how she was so nervous she could barely speak, her neck flushed red from embarrassment.

Out of nowhere, memories of that night four months ago came rushing back to him.

Back then, she’d had that same tearful face, looking so helpless as she tried to plead with him, unable to even string a full sentence together.

Eric glanced at Nancy, his eyes growing deeper and more unreadable.

His gaze flickered almost imperceptibly over her small baby bump before, after a few seconds, a faint smile tugged at his lips.

“So… you don’t like me?” he said.

Nancy instantly went rigid, shaking her head frantically as she tried to explain, “No, that’s not it…”

“Oh? Then what is it?” Eric pressed, still half-teasing.

Eric’s hand followed her braid down and landed casually on her waist, almost like it was second nature.

‘Man, how is her waist still this tiny after four months?’ Eric couldn’t help but marvel to himself.

It really was, and whenever they were in bed, he could cup her waist with just one hand, no problem.

Eric had only ever officially dated three girls, but that didn’t mean he’d only slept with three women. When he was single, he always had a few regular hookups.

He had a thing for girls with tiny waists, always, and his taste never really changed.

It was Nancy’s crazy slim waist that drove him wild that night, and he just couldn’t hold back. So of course she got knocked up after just one night.

Eunice couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed a pillow and chucked it right at Eric.

“Eric, seriously, enough already!” she yelled.

‘Does he really think I can’t tell he’s teasing Nancy on purpose? Nancy’s already a nervous wreck. How can he keep messing with her like that? Men really are just born with a troublemaker gene, Eunice thought.

Eunice had seen how Eric treated his ex-girlfriends before, always the perfect gentleman, sweet and caring. But when it came to Nancy, he was like a whole different guy.

Nancy flinched, instinctively pulling back and huddling closer to herself.

Eric didn’t hesitate. He wrapped her up in his arms, gave Eunice a sidelong glance, and said, totally unfazed, “You just scared your sister-in-law.”

“I…” Eunice almost lost it-she couldn’t believe Eric had the nerve to turn it around and blame her.

‘Come on, who’s really the one freaking her out here?’ Eunice thought.

Kendrick and Helen exchanged a look, watching the two of them get all cozy together.

“Eric, so you and Nancy…” Helen started, trailing off, her curiosity obvious.

Eric glanced down at Nancy, who was curled up sweetly in his arms, and couldn’t help but remember the day her parents stormed into his office.

They’d pointed fingers at him, blaming him for everything. How could their quiet, obedient daughter end up pregnant, and nobody even knew? She’d just secretly dropped out of school, planning to have the baby all by herself.

Her first act of rebellion was refusing to get an abortion.

And the second? She actually ran off with a baby bump.
