Chapter 247 Tote My With
Chapter 247 Dote My Wife
“You don’t even like me, so why would I marry your
Eric, for once, was at a loss for words. He watched her, calm and collected, while she fidgeted sedly her song save
he finally asked in a low voice, ‘So, what kind of people do you think should get marner
“Shouldn’t two people get married because they love each other? Like my mom and dad’
“Her parents? Eric mused to himself.
All the files and background checks on her family were still stashed away in his office drawer
They really were a loving, honest family.
He’d even checked the hotel security footage from that night. She was just these to meet a friend, but acodentally went to the wrong floor and knocked on the wrong door.
He’d thought she was some kind of gift someone had arranged for him, and the drink he’d had that night had gotten s blood pumping.
So, for the first time ever, he went along with this gift that showed up right at his door.
In the end, it was all just a big misunderstanding, and he really did end up bullying the poor giri
Hearing her question, Eric finally realized what was really bothering her. He looked at the pregnant girl standing before him, thinking she was so innocently silly but kind of endearing.
Honestly, bringing home a girl this pure-hearted and cheerful as his wife wouldn’t be the worst idea
His eyes lingered on her belly for a long moment before he slowly stepped closer to her
As Eric approached, Nancy stiffened up, her nerves written all over her face. She didn’t dare move, just stood there obediently, like she was afraid to even breathe.
Eric couldn’t help but think she was almost unbelievably obedient, so much that it was kind of adorable
Right then and there, he made up his mind. He was going to marry her, keep her by his side, and spoil her
“W-What’s wrong?” Nancy stammered.
She looked nervously at the man in front of her, so mature and magnetic.
Her fingers fidgeted anxiously as Eric placed his palm gently on her belly, his deep voice almost hypnotic.
“Nan, of course I like you. Didn’t you feel it that night? Eric murmured, his voice low and tempting.
Nancy’s face flushed bright red at his words, and she couldn’t even meet his eyes.
That night had been way too wild, way too bold. She didn’t even dare to think about it.
But here he was, just saying it out loud like it was nothing.
“I-I know you were drunk that night. I-I could smell the alcohol on you… Nancy stammered.
What she really meant was, he only slept with her because he was drunk, not because he actually liked her
How could he say he liked her when they were just strangers?
Eric watched as Nancy got so embarrassed she wished the ground would swallow her up, but she was still thinking straight. He couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Did you know me? I mean, before that night?” he asked.
Nancy didn’t say a word, just nodded honestly.
“I… I knew you…” she stammered.
There were only a handful of big-name companies in Halinston. Who wouldn’t know who he was?
“So, do you like me?” Eric asked.
Nancy flinched like a startled bird, instinctively taking a step back and staring at him with wide eyes.
But she was just too young, too inexperienced. Her shock was written all over her face.
It was like she was thinking, ‘How does he know I like him?
Eric understood. After everything that happen ‘Why did she do that? Was she trying to get so. But he knew her family wasn’t like that at all.

Chapter 247 Dote My Wife
Eric chuckled at her stunned expression, then gently tilted her chin up with his finger.
“Good girls shouldn’t lie. Do you like me?” Eric gently teased.
Nancy’s heart was pounding so hard she could barely breathe, her hands clutching the fabric of her clothes at her sides.
Under his tender gaze, she found herself nodding before she even realized it.
Seeing her so honest, Eric couldn’t help but laugh softly, then wrapped her up in his arms.
“I like you quite a lot myself, so why shouldn’t we get married?” he said, his voice warm and teasing.
Nancy was totally dazed by his words. After he said he liked her, she just nodded at everything he said, agreeing to whatever he wanted.
She was so sweet and docile, it made his heart melt.
And just like that, he took her home.
Eunice was left speechless after hearing the whole story. She stared at him for a long moment before finally gritting her teeth and saying, “So you really just conned her into coming home with you?”
Eric kicked back on the couch, legs crossed, and let out a low chuckle. “Trick? Depends on what you mean by that.”
“You literally said you liked her!” Eunice retorted.
Eric glanced upstairs and nodded. “Yeah, I do.”
“Wait, are you for real? You actually like girls who look like they’re barely legal? Weren’t all your women before the classy, grown-up type? When did you suddenly get into this… creepy stuff?” Eunice shot back.
“Liking someone comes in all sorts of flavors,” Eric replied.
Eunice listened to his scummy answer and honestly wanted to sock him right in the face.
“So you don’t actually like Nancy as a man likes a woman?” Eunice pressed.
Eric stayed silent, thinking to himself, ‘Honestly, what I feel for Nancy is more like doting on a loyal pet than real romance.’
But to say there was nothing romantic between them…
Even with the booze messing with his head, he really hadn’t acted like himself that night.
He’d gone way overboard, totally losing it…
“So, is she going to be Mrs. Murphy for real now?” Eunice teased, raising an eyebrow.
She bit her lip, shot a glance upstairs, then leaned in close and lowered her voice.
“Since you’re stepping up and marrying the girl, what about all those other women you’ve got hanging around?”
Eric frowned, giving her a frosty glance.
“You make it sound like I’ve got a whole parade of women or something,” he retorted.
Eric knew he always had women around, but he wasn’t the type to play the field. He kept things exclusive with just one regular partner.
But Eunice had only recently found out about his relationship with his secretary by accident.
“I’m talking about your secretary. What are you going to do about her?” Eunice pressed.
Eric narrowed his eyes, those charming eyes turning a little cold. Getting married was a spur-of-the-moment decision. He hadn’t even thought about what to do with his partner.
“She’s good at her job, really capable. I have no reason to fire her,” he replied.
Eunice’s face fell instantly. Just thinking about Nancy’s sweet, obedient look made her feel a surge of indignation on the girl’s behalf.
“So you’re really planning to keep your secretary around? What, you want to have it both ways?” Eunice snapped.
“When did I ever say anything like that?” Eric shot back, sounding irritated.
