Chapter 257
Chapter 257
Titus stopped obediently. “Ryan, is this place fun? Tell me, do you like it here?”
Ryan nodded, grinning from ear to ear. “Yeah.”
“How about we come back again tomorrow?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay, time to go home now.”
“Yeah.”
Titus held Ryan in one arm and shot a glance at Chiara, offering his free hand to her.
Chiara didn’t hesitate. She just dropped her bag into his hand.
“Let’s go,” she said.
Titus raised an eyebrow, but wasn’t the least bit surprised. ‘As if she’d let me hold her hand, he thought to himself.
“Ms. Palmer, Ms. Larkin, we’re heading out now,” Titus said.
“Alright, Mr. Goodman, Ms. Lynch. Take care, see you tomorrow,” Renee replied.
After the group left, Sarah couldn’t help but ask, “Ms. Palmer, did they really get divorced?”
“Seems like it,” Renee replied.
“But they seem to get along pretty well,” Sarah commented.
“Well, they’ve got a kid together. Just make sure to keep a close eye on Ryan, alright? There’ll be perks for you down the line.” Renee said.
Sarah nodded seriously. “Don’t worry, Auntie Palmer. I’ve got this.”
All the kids at their kindergarten came from families that were either loaded or had serious connections.
But in Halinston, nobody could hold a candle to Goodman Group.
Being Ryan’s teacher was basically like hitching one’s wagon to the Goodman Group.
“How many times do I have to tell you? Stop calling me Auntie Palmer, Renee said.
“Alright, Ms. Palmer, is that good enough for you?” Sarah corrected.
Ryan was worn out from playing and fell asleep on the way home,
When they got out of the car, Chiara took off her jacket and gently covered Ryan with it, just so he wouldn’t get cold.
Titus strode into the house with Ryan in his arms.
Chiara was just about to kick off her shoes when her phone buzzed. It was Eunice calling.
“Hello? Eunice?” Chiara said.
“Chiara, are you home?” Eunice asked.

Chapter 257
“Yeah. I just got back. What’s up?”
“I’m coming over to hang out, and I’m bringing my new sister-in-law, Nancy, so you can meet her.
Chiara raised an eyebrow. “Sure, why don’t you guys stay for dinner?”
“Honestly, I’m just inviting myself over for dinner. I’ve been craving Ana and Lindsay’s cooking.”
“Alright, see you soon. I’ll have Ana whip up a few of your favorite dishes.”
“Sounds good.”
“Wait, does Nancy have any dietary restrictions? She’s almost five months pregnant now, right?” Chiara asked.
“Nope, she’s really easygoing about food. She’ll eat anything you serve,” Eunice replied.
She’d learned that after living under the same roof for a whole month, day and night.
Nancy was so docile and gentle that her in-laws just grew more and more fond of her.
“Okay, got it. See you in a bit,” Chiara said.
After hanging up, Chiara glanced at Titus. “Eunice and her sister-in-law are coming over in a bit.”
Titus nodded. “Alright, I’ll get Lindsay to come here.”
Chiara kept looking at him, and Titus raised an eyebrow. “You don’t want me sticking around?”
“Eric’s wife is really timid. I’m just worried she’ll get uncomfortable if there’s a guy at home,” Chiara explained.
“Alright, then what about my dinner?” Titus asked.
“I’ll have Lindsay bring it over to the next room. Ryan should wake up soon, and he’ll probably stay up a bit later than usual tonight. If you’ve got time, keep him company.”
Titus nodded. “I’ll do as you say.”
Chiara shot him a look, then turned and headed into the kitchen. “Ana, Eunice is coming over. Could you whip up a few of her favorite dishes later?”
“Sure thing, I’ll check what we’ve got in the fridge,” Ana replied.
Titus was already upstairs, carrying Ryan in his arms.
About an hour later, Eunice came over with Nancy.
The moment Chiara laid eyes on Nancy, she knew Eunice hadn’t been exaggerating one bit.
Nancy looked so innocent and baby-faced. Her pregnancy had made her cheeks even rounder, and that extra baby fat just made her look even more childlike.
Honestly, she looked like she wasn’t even eighteen yet.
To Chiara, Nancy looked like she couldn’t be more than sixteen.
“Nancy, this is my bestie, Chiara. We’ve been inseparable since we were kids,” Eunice said. “Chiara, this is Nancy, my sister-
in-law.”
Nancy, a little shy, greeted Chiara softly, “Hi, Chiara.”
Chapter 257
Chiara smiled gently. “Hi. Nancy. Since it’s your first time here, don’t be shy. Just make yourself at home. Come on in
Nancy had been taking it easy at home for the baby, so she pretty much never went out these days.
Eunice figured she was way too sheltered, like one of those old-fashioned girls who never even set foot outside the house
Worried that Nancy would get bored out of her mind, Eunice made a point to drag her out for a change today, and that was how they ended up here.
Nancy was wearing a high ponytail, a pink wool sweater, and some maternity overalls.
She looked bright and full of life. If she weren’t sporting that baby bump, no one would ever believe she was pregnant.
“I haven’t had a chance to congratulate you and Eric yet. Congrats on tying the knot. Here’s a gift for you.” Chiara said.
“Oh, but…” Nancy hesitated.
Eunice just accepted the gift on Nancy’s behalf. “It’s okay, just take it. Chiara’s like family to us, so you don’t need to be shy.”
Nancy finally took the bracelet Chiara had picked out for her.
“Thank you, Chiara,” Nancy said.
“We’re family, so no need to be so formal,” Chiara replied.
Looking at Nancy’s baby face, Chiara just couldn’t think of referring to Nancy as Eric’s wife.
She shot Eunice a look, and Eunice could totally relate.
“Hard to think of her that way, right? Same here. That’s why I just call her Nancy. You can do that too.” Eunice said.
Nancy had also brought a little present for her first visit, a few toys for Ryan.
Nancy said, “Eunice mentioned you have a kid, so I picked out some toys for your kid.”
“Thank you, Nancy,” Chiara said warmly.
Girls always hit it off fast. Eunice and Chiara were mostly swapping stories about their wild days, and every now and then, Eric’s name would be mentioned.
But Chiara noticed that every time they mentioned Eric, Nancy would hang on every word.
Her crush was so obvious that anyone could see it a mile away.
Chiara had been in that spot before, so she could totally relate.
