When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 265

Chapter 265

Chapter 265

Seeing the hatred and fury in Heather’s eyes, Kason squinted and said coolly, “Why don’t you show me how someone gets

lost?”

“Get lost!” Heather completely lost it. She snatched up a pillow and threw it right at his loathsome face.

Kason dodged with a tilt of his head, shot her a look, and said, “Are you eating or not?”

Heather glared daggers at him, her anger barely contained. ‘If it weren’t for my manners, I’d have cussed out his entire family tree by now,’ she thought.

“Are you cursing me in your head?” Kason asked.

Heather retorted, “So what if I am?”

“Then eat first, curse me later,” Kason said, and without warning, he yanked her off the bed, slung her over his shoulder, and strode downstairs.

“Kason, put me down! Are you insane?” Heather shouted.

“You’re nuts. If you’re that messed up, check yourself into a hospital and stay the hell away from me. Put me down, do you hear me? Freak! Psycho! Put me down right now.”

Heather’s shouting was so loud that Greta, Mabel, and Nancy couldn’t help but glance over.

But as soon as they saw the scene, they all hurriedly ducked their heads, pretending to be busy, not daring to sneak another look.

“Kason, you asshole!”

“Oh, I’m an asshole? Then what does that make you? Mrs. Asshole? Or maybe just a little asshole yourself?” Kason shot back.

Heather was so mad she was about to explode. She couldn’t believe he could be this shameless.

Just as she was about to sink her teeth into him, his cold voice cut in with a warning.

“Try biting me again, I dare you,” Kason threatened.

Just thinking about the consequences of biting him last time had Heather seething with resentment.

When he finally set her down in a chair, Kason tilted her chin up and leaned in for a closer look.

Heather saw his face suddenly looming way too close and tried to turn away, but he wouldn’t let her, so she just shut her eyes tight.

‘If I can’t see him, maybe I won’t be so pissed,’ she thought.

However, her quick, uneven breaths gave away just how rattled she really was.

Kason frowned when he saw the cut at the corner of her mouth, but he still released her.

Heather tried to stand up, but Kason firmly pressed her shoulders down.

“I’ll say it one more time, eat,” Kason snapped.

Heather shot back with a frosty look, “And I’ll say it again. I’m so grossed out that I couldn’t eat even if I tried.”

Chapter 265

Kason’s face darkened. He tilted her chin up, staring her down. “You hate me that much?”

Heather gave him a cold, mocking smile, but the movement pulled at her wound, and a thin line of blood oozed out. “You’re absolutely disgusting.”

Kason’s eyes grew colder as he glanced at the dinner on the table. “Are you eating or not?”

“I’m not eating. Eat it yourself if you want. Just let me go.”

Greta, watching from the side, couldn’t help but speak up. “Fighting’s one thing, but you still need to eat. After all, your health is your own, isn’t it?”

Heather kept her face cold and didn’t say a word. She knew her health was her own, but she was so disgusted that she honestly couldn’t bring herself to eat.

Kason stared at her for a long moment before picking up the chowder and setting it in front of her. He stirred it a few times with a spoon.

“Open your mouth,” he said.

Heather was done with him. She shoved his hand away with a hard swipe.

“Did you spend so much time overseas that you can’t even understand what I’m saying anymore? I said I’m not eating. Can you get it through your thick skull? And can you just stay away from me?”

“Hey, watch out, it’s hot,” Greta called out in alarm.

The chowder had been made in a pressure cooker, which was why it was ready so fast. But it was straight out of the pot and definitely scalding.

Heather’s eyes flashed, but she pressed her lips together tightly.

Kason glanced at the chowder on his hand, stared at her for a long moment, then finally stood up. He grabbed a few napkins from the table and wiped the chowder off with deliberate care.

“Heather, I don’t go out of my way to coax women, so when I give you an out, you’d better take it.”

Heather’s face grew even darker, but she didn’t bother to reply. She just glared at him with undisguised disgust.

Heather’s glare made Kason’s temper flare up inside.

He tossed the napkins onto the table. “You don’t want to see my face, right?”

Heather didn’t say a word, but turned her head away. Her attitude said it all.

Kason pressed his lips together, narrowed his eyes at her for a long moment, then finally turned and walked away.

Greta called out as he was leaving, “Hey, where are you going? Will you be back tonight?”

Once Kason was out of sight, Heather finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Greta glanced at her and sighed, but didn’t say anything.

“The chowder’s tasty. Why not have a little?” Greta coaxed.

Heather shook her head. “I really can’t eat any. You guys go ahead. I’m heading upstairs to get some rest.”

With that, she pushed her chair back and made her way upstairs.

Greta watched her leave, sighing and shaking her head, then turned to Mabel and Nancy.

“Looks like you two shall have it,” she said.

The two girls exchanged a look and nodded. After all, the chowder was loaded with all kinds of good stuff, even herbs,

Back in the guest room, Heather picked up the pillow from the floor. After all that drama, her short hair had pretty much dried out.

She flopped back onto the bed and closed her eyes.

Her stomach was a little uncomfortable, but she didn’t want to eat a single bite.

Before she knew it, she’d drifted off into a hazy sleep.

Clearly, Kason didn’t come home that night.

The next morning, Heather was woken up by a call from the media.

“Hello, this is Heather,” she answered.

“Hi, Mrs. Bradford. I’m a reporter from Headline Weekly. I have something I’d like to discuss with you. Would you be interested?” the caller said.

Heather didn’t even need to ask. She knew what this was about. She hung up without saying a word.

But the caller just wouldn’t quit, calling her three more times back-to-back.

After getting dressed and tidying up, Heather glanced at her phone and finally picked up. “Are you done yet?”

“Mrs. Bradford, aren’t you even curious about what I’ve got?” the reporter pressed.

“I’m not interested. Anything else?”

“Are you sure about that?”

“If you’re going to leak it, I’ll see it anyway. Save your concern. Don’t call me again, or I’ll report you for harassment.”

With that, Heather blocked the number immediately.

She put away her phone, grabbed her bag, and headed downstairs.

Greta had breakfast ready and called Heather over as soon as she saw Heather come down.

But Heather still had no appetite and waved it off.

“I’ll skip breakfast. You all enjoy, don’t waste it. I’m off to work,” she said.

“Hey…” Greta called out.

Heather walked out so fast that Greta didn’t even get a chance to say another word.

Greta could only watch helplessly as Heather walked out the front door.

Greta pulled out her phone and sent a message to Kason. [Mrs. Bradford didn’t eat anything before leaving this morning.]

There was also a message from an unknown number. [Mr. Bradford, I’ve got some photos of you. Are you interested? The price is negotiable.]

Chapter 265

Kason glanced at the two messages that had popped up on his phone almost at the same time.

He only bothered to open Greta’s message and took a look.

As for the other one, he just skimmed it and was about to delete it.

But then another message popped up from the same number.

[Honestly, I just got off the phone with Ms. Lynch this morning. She offered a pretty hefty sum, but as a fellow man, I’m more inclined to side with you, Mr. Bradford. How about we have a quick call and talk things through?]

Kason raised an eyebrow at the message, and to his own surprise, he actually called the number back.

“Hey there, Mr. Bradford. I’m a reporter for Headline Weekly. You remember what went down last night, don’t you?” the reporter said.

‘Last night?’ Kason wondered.

He sat up against the headboard, grabbed his cigarettes off the nightstand, bit one out, and lit it.

“Sorry, I had a few drinks last night. My memory’s kind of fuzzy. Why don’t you give me a hint?” Kason drawled.
