Chapter 267

Chapter 267

Just as they were chatting, Charlotte’s phone suddenly rang. She quickly glanced at the screen; it was Gael calling.

“Ms. Lynch, I need to take this call,” she said, grabbing her phone and heading out.

Once she was far away from the seat, she picked up the call. “Hello, Gael? Is there something you need?”

“We’re at the address you sent, but we don’t see you or Ms. Lynch. Where are both of you?”

Charlotte asked, surprised, “Wait, you and Mr. Bradford actually came here to find me and Ms. Lynch?”

“That’s right, so where are you two now?”

“Well…” Charlotte felt helpless and could only give them the exact address. After hanging up, she headed over to Heather and Wayne.

She gave Wayne a quick nod, then leaned in and whispered in Heather’s ear. “Ms. Lynch, Mr. Bradford came to find probably close by.”

Heather’s brows furrowed; she was clearly annoyed. Wayne saw her reaction and asked, “What’s up?”

Heather shook her head. “It’s nothing. Let’s just wrap up for now; I’ll bring the contract with me.”

Wayne figured she had something going on, so he just nodded.

“Alright, I’ll head out then. See you later,” Heather said. She stood up, gave him a nod, and after a quick handshake, Wayne headed out.

But as he reached the cafe entrance, he noticed a man standing by the door, who was Gael. He had never met Gael before; they were complete strangers.

As they brushed past each other, Gael caught sight of Heather and immediately walked over to her. “Ms. Lynch, Mr. Bradford is waiting for you in the car,” he said.

Heather frowned at Gael, tilted her head, and looked out the window. Kason’s car was indeed parked outside. Maybe Kason was watching her from inside, but she only glanced at the car before looking away.

“We drove here,” Heather replied.

Gael pursed his lips. “Ms. Lynch, why don’t you ride with Mr. Bradford? Charlotte can take your car back.”

Charlotte shot Heather a look but kept quiet. Heather just stared at Gael for a while. He stood there, stone-faced, letting her glare.

In the end, Heather handed the keys to Charlotte. She hurriedly grabbed the keys and stepped aside.

Heather gave Gael a frosty glare before striding past him. He finally turned and trailed after her.

Once she got in the car, Heather didn’t bother with pleasantries. Did you really chase me all the way here? What do you

want?”

“Didn’t we agree to have lunch together?” Kason replied.

Heather paused for a few seconds, then let out a cold laugh. “Do you honestly think I can eat with your face right in front of

me?”

awake. The thought alone unsettled her.

Kason didn’t even flinch at the obvious disgust and mockery on her face. “Just try,” he said coolly. “Drive.”

Gael pulled away from the curb. Heather fell silent, turning her head to look out the window. When they got to the hotel, Kason practically dragged her straight into the restaurant.

He ordered so much food that the waiter was left speechless. “Sir, ma’am, if it’s just the two of you, there’s no way you can eat all this,” the waiter said, trying to be helpful.

Kason literally ordered one of everything on the menu. And since it was a Western restaurant, there was no way the table could hold all that food.

“It’s fine, just bring everything out,” Kason said coolly.

The waiter could only nod, looking a bit overwhelmed, and hurried off to get things started. Heather kept staring out the window, looking totally uninterested.

“With all this food, you’ll find something you can eat,” Kason said.

Heather finally turned to look at him, her gaze icy. “You really are nuts,” she said.

“Then just think of me as it is,” Kason replied, completely unfazed.

When the food was served, Heather merely glanced at it before looking away. Sitting at the same table as Kason was enough to kill any appetite she might have had.

“Not hungry for any of this?” Kason asked.

“No,” Heather said coldly.

“If you want something else, just tell them to make it,” Kason said.

“I don’t want anything. Is that so hard to understand?” Heather snapped.

Kason’s eyes darkened as he looked at her. “Is it because I make you sick?”

Just hearing him mention last night made Heather’s face change instantly. She clenched her fists and shot him a cold glare. “If it were you, wouldn’t you feel disgusted?” she shot back.

If anyone had ever dared to do that to him, he would probably have lost control and retaliated brutally. Men and women simply were not the same.

Kason leaned in, bracing his hands on the edge of the table, his gaze intense and unwavering as he stared at her. “Not if it were you. I wouldn’t,” he said.

Heather just stared at him, not getting what he was trying to say. Kason finally looked away, his eyes dritting over the spread of food on the table.

“So you’re really not going to eat, huh?” Kason asked.

Heather’s tone was firm. “No.”

‘Skipping a meal or two won’t kill me,’ Heather thought.

“Fine, then don’t eat,” Kason said. With that, Kason stood up and pulled Heather to her feet.

Heather frowned. “Now what are you trying to do?”

“I’m doing what you just asked,” Kason replied.

“What?” Heather stared at him, baffled. ‘Wait, what did I just ask?’ Heather wondered, racking her brain.

Before she could react, Kason had already pulled her into the elevator. The waiter didn’t dare intervene. He stared at the untouched food on the table, some dishes not even served yet, and could only scratch his head in confusion.

He ended up going to the restaurant manager. The manager checked the security cameras and instantly recognized the two of them. He told the waiter not to clear the table yet; just wait and see what happens.

Heather’s expression changed instantly when she realized Kason was dragging her toward the hotel rooms. She bristled, thinking he was about to try his old tricks again.

“Kason, if you dare do that to me again…” Heather snapped, her voice shaking with rage.

“Or what?” Kason shot back, his tone cold and challenging.

Heather’s eyes burned red as she glared at him, looking like she was ready to drag him down with her, no matter the cost. “Fine! If you want a fight, we’ll go down together!” she spat.

Kason gave a cold snort and shoved her into the room. “Relax, you’re not getting that chance,” he said, his voice icy.

Heather turned around, instinctively backing away as Kason kept advancing on her, her heart pounding with unease. “Don’t mess with me! Stay back!”

Kason tossed aside his jacket, ripped off his tie, then seized her wrists and bound them together, forcing her down onto the bed. “Kason! How dare you! Let me go, do you hear me?” Heather yelled, her voice sharp with fury.

“Let me go right now!” she shouted, thrashing against him.

But the next second, her vision went black as something was pulled over her eyes. She shook her head frantically, but whatever it was, it was way too big; no matter how hard she struggled, she couldn’t shake it off.

She could feel hands on her clothes, fumbling and pulling. “Kason, let me go! Do you hear me? I’m dead serious. If you push me, I’ll take you down with me!” Heather snapped, her voice shaking with fury and desperation.

“Kason, let me go!” Heather yelled, her voice shaking with fear and anger.”

“Kason, I…” she started, but the words just wouldn’t come out. By the time Heather realized something wasn’t right, she couldn’t even make a sound.

There was only one thought echoing in her mind: ‘Kason really is insane. He’s hopelessly insane.

The next moment, the towel was pulled away from her face. The glare was blinding, and she immediately shut her eyes tight. But it wasn’t just the light; she didn’t want to open her eyes at all.

It wasn’t until she heard Kason’s low, raspy voice above her. “Do you think it’s fair now?” he asked.
