When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 268

Chapter 268

Chapter 268

Kason cupped her chin and forced her to look at him, his eyes locked onto hers, dark and bottomless, his voice low and rough. “Talk to me. Can you finally eat something now?” he asked.

Heather squeezed her eyes shut, her eyelids trembling uncontrollably.

“Not saying anything means you’re not satisfied? How about we do it again?” Kason said.

At those words, Heather’s eyes flew open. But when she saw the wet sheen on Kason’s chin, Heather could only shut her eyes tight again.

Kason noticed her ears turning red and couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. He wiped his chin; it really was a bit wet. “Let me ask you one last time. Are you going to eat or not?” he pressed.

Heather gritted her teeth and mumbled, “Alright, alright, I’ll cat, okay?”

‘What a lunatic. Total psycho, Heather cursed inwardly.

Only then did Kason look satisfied. He gave her cheek a playful tap and asked, “Are you going to take care of yourself, or do you need me to do it for you?”

Heather finally snapped and yelled, “Get lost!”

Kason’s lips quirked in a satisfied smirk. Having gotten what he wanted, he was done messing with her. He got up and strode out of the room, feeling pleased with himself.

Only after she heard the door close did Heather finally open her eyes again. But just thinking about what had happened sent a shiver down her spine. After fixing herself up, she stared into the mirror, silently chanting to make herself calm down.

When Heather finally stepped out, Kason had been waiting for her on the couch, his gaze never leaving her face. She walked straight into him, and the calm look she’d just managed to put on almost fell apart.

She immediately averted her gaze, turning her head away from him. Seeing her dodge his eyes, Kason strolled over with a lazy smirk tugging at his lips.

Heather froze on the spot, completely stiff.

“How did that feel?” Kason teased, his voice low and playful.

Heather clenched her fists, barely managing a strained smile as she tried to keep her composure. The scab at the corner of her mouth cracked open again after all her shouting.

So whenever she moved her lips too much, it stung sharply. “With all your experience, Mr. Bradford, you’d know best…” she replied, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

But before she could finish her sarcastic comeback, Kason clapped a hand over her mouth. Heather let out a muffled sound

With her mouth covered, Heather had no choice but to look up at him. “L-let me go!” she protested, her words muffled by his hand.

Kason’s face darkened as he glared at her, clearly annoyed. “Don’t go make stuff up about me!”

Heather just stared at him in silence, but her eyes were full of silent protest, she clearly didn’t agree with him at all. Accuse him? I’d rather accuse a dog than waste my breath on him! Heather thought

As if he could read her mind, Kason’s expression grew even more serious as he leaned in, his gaze intense and unwavering. “Heather, I’m only going to say this once, so listen up,” he said, his voice low and serious.

Chapter 268

Heather’s eyes flickered with uncertainty, but she just stared at him, saying nothing.

“I’ve been with women before, sure, and there have been quite a few. What I have just done with you was my first time. I’ve never done that with anyone else. You’re the first,” Kason said, his voice low and unwavering

Heather was caught off guard, her mind going blank as she stared at him, all her defenses dropping. “The first? The thought hit Heather like a bolt, leaving her stunned.

Kason’s gaze was deep and unyielding as he fixed his eyes on her. “Not just anyone gets this from me, Mrs. Bradford. Who do you think I am?”

‘Who do I think he is? Obviously, just a player…’ Heather thought, rolling her eyes inwardly.

Seeing her eyes flicker with sarcasm, Kason knew she wasn’t thinking anything nice about him. He scoffed coldly. “You think I’m just some guy who gets off on doing this for women?” he shot back.

Heather wanted nothing to do with what had just happened, but Kason kept pushing her to talk about it. “L-let me go!” she protested, her words muffled by his hand.

Kason held her gaze for three long seconds before finally letting go of her mouth. Heather pursed her lips and turned her head away. “I didn’t ask you to do that!”

Kason’s face darkened, and he gave her a cold, hard smile. “Guess that makes me pretty cheap, huh?” he shot back.

Heather just stared at him, speechless. His words totally stumped her; she had no idea how to respond.

An awkward silence settled between them, and the vibe was just different. It wasn’t tense, but it definitely wasn’t flirty either. Honestly, it was just weird.

Kason held her gaze for a long moment before finally reaching out and gently pulling her by the wrist. “Come on, let’s head downstairs for dinner,” he said.

Heather’s eyes flickered, but she let him lead her without protest.

The manager did a double take when he saw the two of them step out of the elevator. ‘Are they done already?’ the manager wondered, a bit taken aback.

He couldn’t help but check his watch. ‘Did that even take twenty minutes? Damn, that was quick, he thought.

Kason caught on right away. A guy as sharp as him wouldn’t miss a thing. His face clouded over, eyes going icy cold.

Heather got shoved down into the chair, shot him a quick look, confused by his sudden mood shift, but kept quiet. She hadn’t said a word, hadn’t done anything to set him off.

“Did you hear what people were saying about me just now?” Kason asked, his voice low and tight.

Heather just stared at him, totally lost, not having a clue what he was talking about. Seriously, she hadn’t heard a word. Who even said anything about him?’ she wondered.

Kason picked up his wine, took a slow sip, and shot her a half-smirk. “People are asking how I managed to wrap things up

that fast.

‘Wait, what?’ Heather’s brain short-circuited for a second. Her face went still for a moment; she finally got it.

“I didn’t hear anything,” Heather replied, a bit defensively. She hadn’t caught a single word and felt a twinge of annoyance, wondering how she was supposed to know what was going on in their heads.

Kason scoffed, eyeing her flushed cheeks. “Should I explain that it wasn’t me who was fast, it was you?” he said, smirking.

Chapter 268

Heather clenched her utensils so tightly she almost wanted to hurl the knife at him. ‘And I’d aim that knife right at his cocky face!’ Heather seethed inwardly.

Kason gave a casual glance at the utensils clenched in her hand, set his wine glass down, and licked his lips, clearly just to mess with her. “Looks like I forgot to clean up after myself,” he teased, voice low and provocative.

That was it for Heather. She finally snapped and slammed her utensils down on the table, unable to take it anymore.

Suddenly, she remembered the sound of him swallowing from just moments ago. ‘Wait, is he actually?’ The realization hit Heather like a jolt of electricity, leaving her frozen in place, face burning.

She was so stunned she could barely breathe, anger flaring up inside her. “Kason, can you just shut up already?” she snapped.

Kason arched an eyebrow, a sly look on his face. “Why does this wine taste kinda sweet tonight?”

Heather’s scalp prickled with nerves. She shut her eyes for a second, trying to steady herself, then picked up her cutlery and started eating, stone-faced.

Only when she started eating did Kason lean back in his chair, just quietly watching her eat. Heather barely registered what she was eating; there were so many dishes, she just grabbed a bit of everything.

She only stopped when her stomach felt stuffed, finally setting her cutlery down. But honestly, she hadn’t eaten much at all; it looked like the whole spread was barely touched.

“I’m done,” Heather said, tossing her napkin aside and getting up to leave.

Kason didn’t try to stop her. He rose from his seat calmly and followed her out..

After seeing the two of them out, the staff couldn’t help but sigh. “Is this really how the rich live?” one of them muttered.

“Who isn’t thinking that?” another chimed in.

“This dinner’s worth more than my whole paycheck for the month,” someone else added.

“Did we forget to bring out some dishes or what?” one of them joked.

“Looks like there are still two dishes left…”

“Let’s just share them,” someone suggested.

“Yeah, otherwise they’d just go to waste,” another added.

Heather walked straight out of the hotel and got into the car. When Kason slid into the seat beside her, she turned her head to stare out the window.

Maybe it was because she’d eaten too much, too fast, but her stomach was starting to feel a bit off. She didn’t say anything, but the discomfort was written all over her face.

Kason gave her a quick look and said, “Stop at that pharmacy ahead.”

Heather gazed out the window, her brows furrowing slightly, lips tightening. She finally just closed her eyes, refusing to think about anything anymore.
