Chapter 301
After lunch the next day, Chiara was getting ready to head home with Ryan.
They didn’t have much stuff, and Charlie personally loaded their things into the trunk.
“Chiara, did you leave anything behind?” Charlie asked.
Chiara was just about to shake her head when Titus’s voice came from behind her.
“Actually, you did,” Titus said.
Both of them turned to look, and Charlie asked, “What did she leave behind?”
Titus looked straight at Chiara and pointed at himself.
“Me,” he said with a playful grin.
Charlie was a little speechless.

Charlie glanced at Chiara, then at Titus, awkwardly cleared his throat, and said, “Chiara, I’ve got a meeting, so I’ll head out
now.”
Chiara totally got what Charlie was hinting at, so she just nodded.
“Okay, Charlie. Bye,” she said.
“Alright.” Charlie couldn’t help but give Titus a thumbs-up for being so bold, then hopped into the car behind.
It wasn’t until Charlie’s car was out of sight that Chiara finally looked at Titus.
“What was that for?” she asked.
Titus kept a straight face and said, “I want to come with you.”
Chiara just stared at him, speechless.
She pressed her lips together and asked, “Where to?”
“Next door,” Titus replied.
Chiara really didn’t know what to say. The place next door was his anyway. How could she stop him from going to his own house?
“So, you might as well give me a lift,” Titus said, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
‘Could I say no?’ Chiara thought.
Ryan stuck his head out of the car window, his face lighting up. “Dad, are you coming home with us?”
Titus reached over and ruffled his hair. “Does that make you happy?”
“Of course! I don’t want to be apart from you!” Ryan said, then glanced at Chiara with a big grin. “I don’t want to be apart from Mom either. And I don’t want Mom and Dad to be apart, either.”
Chiara raised an eyebrow and was amused by his smartness. ‘Seriously, how is he so quick-witted?’ she thought.
“So, what do you want, Ryan?” she asked.

Chapter 301
“I want Mom, Dad, and me to always be together. That’s perfect!” Ryan said, his eyes shining with happiness.
Titus raised an eyebrow and gave Ryan a proud pat on the head.
“Guess what? I want the same thing,” Titus said, grinning.
Ryan asked, “Really?”
His eyes lit up as he stared at Titus.
“Of course, Titus replied.
Then Ryan turned to Chiara. “What about you, Mom?”
Both Titus and Ryan looked at her eagerly, waiting for her answer.
Chiara just stared at them, speechless.
Seeing those two nearly identical faces, she pressed her lips together, avoided their gaze, and mumbled a vague response.
“Come on. Let’s head out,” she said.
Titus ruffled Ryan’s head, smiling as he climbed into the car.
Titus really did move into the house next door, but honestly, he spent most of his days practically living at the Lynch residence.
Heather dropped by a few times. Every time, she caught him hanging out at her place.
“What’s up with him?” Heather asked.

Chiara glanced at Titus, who was busy building a robot with Ryan, and said, “He’s decided to move back next door, but what can I do if he keeps showing up here?”
“And at night?” Heather asked.
“He heads back next door to sleep at night,” Chiara replied.
Heather glanced at her. “Have you decided yet?”
Chiara paused, lightly biting her lip before finally saying, “Let’s just leave things as they are for now.”
Heather gave her a look and smirked. “Are you wavering?”
Chiara just said softly, “Look at Ryan.”
Heather glanced at Titus and Ryan on the living room rug.
After two weeks, Titus had put on a little weight. Lindsay and Ana had been cooking all sorts of nourishing soups for him every single day.
The doctor had said that eating more was the best way to gain weight.
After drinking soup for two weeks straight, it really worked. He really put on at least 5 pounds.
What really caught Heather’s eye was Ryan, who was laughing joyfully. His clear, happy laughter was infectious, making it hard not to smile too.
For Ryan, having both his parents around him was honestly the best thing ever.

Chapter 301
Chiara and Heather had both grown up showered in their parents’ love, so they knew just how much a family’s love can shape a kid’s future.
Chiara honestly didn’t want Ryan to turn out like Titus when he got older.
Titus was just too cold and distant sometimes. She hoped Ryan would grow up to be kind and well-mannered.
But a personality like that could only grow in a family full of love and warmth.
Heather got what Chiara meant and slowly looked away. She said, “As I told you before, whatever you decide, I’m always on your side. Elaine was the one who killed Grandpa, and now she got what was coming to her. As for you and Titus, it’s your call.
“I used to think he really cared about you, maybe even liked you. After everything that’s happened, I’m not going to pretend the hurt he caused you never happened, but I also can’t ignore how hard he fought for you this time.
“The wrong won’t disappear. It’s up to you which way it tips.”
Chiara listened to her, then glanced up and saw that Heather looked like she was good.
“What about you? How are things going with Kason?” she asked.
Heather paused for a moment, then said, “It’s fine.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Chiara asked.
“Honestly, his words actually make some sense,” Heather replied.
“What?” Chiara asked.
“He told me he likes women who are gentle and charming. So I just figured out how to get along well with him,” Heather said.
Chiara blinked and nodded. “That’s good.”
For the past six months, Chiara had been so caught up with the Goodman family that she’d kind of neglected Heather.
“So, any updates on what happened to Mom and Dad back then?” Chiara asked.
Heather’s eyes flickered for a moment. “We’re getting close.”
Chiara couldn’t help but look at her and asked, “Did you find any clues?”
Heather nodded. “If everything goes smoothly.”
As the days passed, Titus got better gradually.
After a month, he’d managed to put on over 10 pounds.
Ana and Lindsay were pleased to see Titus’s change. All their hard work over the past month had really paid off.
Once he’d put on enough weight, Titus started working out.
But one day, Chiara was surprised to see Charlie. “Hello, Charlie. Adele didn’t come with you?”
Charlie shook his head, glanced around, and said, “Yes. I just came straight from work. Where’s Titus?”
“Have a seat. I’ll get you some coffee,” Chiara said.

Chapter 301
After pouring him a cup, she said, “He’s out working out. He should be back soon.”
Charlie took a sip of his coffee, then looked at Chiara.
“Chiara,” Charlie called out.
“Go ahead,” she said.
“How’s Titus’s health lately?” Charlie asked.
Chiara replied honestly, “The doctor says he’s doing great. As long as he keeps working out, he’ll be back to how he was before.”
Charlie couldn’t help but smile, finally looking relieved.
It wasn’t just relief. He looked genuinely satisfied.
Chiara blinked, pretty sure she knew why Charlie had come over today.
About half an hour later, Titus jogged back in, drenched in sweat.
Ana immediately handed him a glass of water she’d already prepared.
Titus seemed to know exactly why Charlie had shown up, but he wasn’t in any hurry. He just said calmly, “I’ll take a shower first.”
