Chapter 306
Chapter 306
No one ever asked much about Titus and Chiara’s relationship. It was like there was a tacit understanding among everyone, an unspoken rule not to bring it up.
At Lynch Group.
Heather’s secretary, Charlotte, pushed the door open. “Ms. Lynch.”
Heather looked up. “What is it?”
Charlotte waved her phone and said, “Didn’t you get Mr. Bradford’s call?”
Heather turned her head, thinking her phone was on her desk. But when she looked up, she realized it was actually sitting on the coffee table.
“I didn’t hear it. What’s up?” she asked.
“Gael asked me to let you know you need to pick Mr. Bradford up and take him home,” Charlotte said.
“Me? Pick him up?” Heather repeated, a bit surprised.
Charlotte nodded. “Yeah.”
Heather paused for a moment, glancing at the time. It was already past seven. She hadn’t even noticed how late it had gotten.
“It’s getting late. You can head home now. You don’t have to wait around for me at the office anymore,” Heather said.
Charlotte smiled. “It’s fine. I’m not married and don’t have any kids. I’d just be binge-watching TV at home anyway. At least here I can get some overtime pay.”
Heather smiled. Charlotte had been with her for years now.
“Ms. Lynch, do you need me to go with you to pick up Mr. Bradford?” Charlotte asked.
“No need, it’s getting late. You should go home,” Heather replied.
“Alright, Ms. Lynch. I’ll head out now,” Charlotte said.
After finishing up the last document, Heather walked over to the coffee table and picked up her phone. Sure enough, there were two missed calls.
And she saw a message from Gael with the address.
She put her phone away, grabbed her coat and keys, and headed out
Everyone in Halinston could recognize Heather.
When she walked into the club, the manager spotted her right away and hurried over.
“Ms. Lynch, good evening. Are you here to pick Mr. Bradford up?” the manager asked.
“Yeah, which private room is he in?” Heather said.
“I’ll take you there,” the manager said.
“Okay,” Chiara replied.

Chapter 306
The manager led her to a private room on the third floor and gestured toward the door.
“Mr. Bradford is inside. Please, go on in,” the manager said.
“Thanks,” Heather said, reaching out to push the door open. As soon as she did, a sharp mix of smoke and alcohol hit her, making her stop in her tracks.
No matter how fancy the ventilation was, with a crowd like this, one could still catch the smell of smoke and booze in the air.
After all, their company had smoking zones.
If one got the urge, he could just step into the smoking zone, even during office hours.
But there was no smoking allowed in the offices or public spaces.
Each floor had its own dedicated smoking zone.
Heather suddenly realized that Kason hadn’t been smoking around her as much lately. She’d never really paid attention. before, but now it hit her that he really had been holding back on smoking when she was there.
“Ms. Lynch, come on in! We were just talking about you with Mr. Bradford. Didn’t expect you two to be such a great couple!” someone in the room called out.
Kason looked over at Heather and waved her over. “Honey.”
“Mind putting out your cigarettes, guys? My wife’s sensitive to smoke. Thanks,” Kason said.
Everyone glanced at Heather in surprise, but since it was Kason’s words, they all put out their cigarettes without a word.
“I really didn’t expect the two of you to have such a good relationship. I always said those media were just making things up.” someone remarked.
“Seriously, these days, reporters will do anything for attention. No shame at all,” another chimed in.
“Exactly, seeing is believing. They’re clearly doing great together,” someone else added.
“Come on, Ms. Lynch, have a seat! Hey, you over there, don’t you see Heather just walking in? Make some space for her already!” someone called out enthusiastically.
A woman was sitting next to Kason, but it was clear she was actually with the man beside her, not Kason.
“Come on, move over!” someone urged.
The woman glanced at Heather, then quickly got up and switched seats,
Heather walked over and scanned the room. None of these faces was stranger to her. Some belonged to companies that had once snubbed Lynch Group.
So even after the Goodman and Lynch families’ relationship hit the news and these people tried to cozy up to her, Heather still shut them down without a second thought.
Heather just gave a polite nod to a few people, then turned to Kason.
“Go home now?” she asked.
Kason arched an eyebrow at her, a teasing glint in his eyes.
As soon as everyone realized Heather was about to leave, they all got a little flustered. The Lynch sisters were the talk of the town these days.
Chapter 306
Chiara had married into the Goodman family, and Heather had tied the knot with Kason.
They were really a force to be reckoned with.
They were right in the middle of a business discussion. No way they’d just let Kason walk out before things were senled
“Ms. Lynch, don’t rush off. You just got here, and we’re not done talking business with Mr. Bradford yet, someone said.
Heather shot them a look, not in the mood for small talk.
“If you’re here to talk business, don’t bother. You all turned me down before, didn’t think Lynch Group was worth your time. and now I’m not interested in working with you either,” she said.
“Well…” Everyone looked at each other. Obviously, they regretted it.
Back then, Lynch Group was on the verge of bankruptcy. Who would want to work with them?
But two years went by, and bankruptcy never happened.
Turns out, it was because Chiara had married Titus.
“Ms. Lynch, we really misjudged things back then. Would you be generous enough to let the past go and give us a chance to redeem ourselves?” one of them pleaded, trying to sound humble.
Heather replied coolly, “I seem to recall it was a lot more than just turning me down.”
At that, the group looked visibly uncomfortable, nobody daring to meet her eyes.
Clearly, none of them had forgotten how they’d mocked Heather and gone out of their way to make things difficult for her back then.
Heather gave Kason a frosty look, her voice turning cold.
She said, “Are you coming home or not? If you’re staying, I’m leaving…”
But before she could finish, Kason yanked her wrist and pulled her right onto his lap.
Heather struggled, trying to get off his lap.
But in the next second, Kason simply moved her to the seat beside him.
Heather frowned at him, whispering, “What’s your game? Why are you even hanging out with these guys?”
Kason squeezed her hand, then reached over to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Over the past year, her hair had really grown out.
He leaned in close and murmured, “You seriously don’t want money that’s practically begging to be taken?”
Heather glanced at the group again, her frown deepening.
Kason gently pressed his finger on her brow. “Relax. You don’t look so cute when you frown, he teased.
Heather’s frown slowly faded, but she still looked aloof.
“Combined, their companies aren’t even worth pocket change,” Heather scoffed.
“Heather, emotional value can’t be measured by money,” Kason replied.
“Seriously, what kind of emotional value could they possibly have?” Heather retorted.

Chapter 306
“Just trust me, there’s more than you think,” Kason said.
Heather just looked at him for a few seconds, then turned her head away without saying anything.
Kason gently turned her face toward him and kissed her cheek.
The rest of the group visibly relaxed, thinking maybe there was still a shot at working with Lynch Group after all.
One of the guys quickly raised his glass and said, “Mr. Bradford, Ms. Lynch, this one’s for you! Sorry about how we acted before. Hope you’ll give us another chance and not hold it against us. Bottoms up!”
Another guy chimed in, “Seriously, Ms. Lynch, we were totally out of line before. It was on us, and we’re really sorry. Bottoms up!”
The guys all knocked back their drinks, but Heather didn’t even reach for her glass. She had zero intention of joining in.
Kason just raised his glass casually, but didn’t actually take a sip.
Even that tiny gesture was enough to make the whole group breathe a sigh of relief.
