When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 307

Chapter 307

Chapter 307

Afterwards, everyone was pretty drunk, slurring their words.

“Mr. Bradford, we’ve got a deal, right? No backing out now,” one of them said.

Kason looked at them and smirked. “As long as you guys don’t regret it.”

Another chimed in, “No way we’ll regret it. The Lynch Group is on a whole new level now. With you in charge, it’s way more glorious than when Andrew was here, right?”

“Yeah…” the others echoed.

Heather just shot them a cold look when they mentioned Andrew’s name.

In the end, Gael made sure everyone got into their own cars and wrapped up the night.

Kason turned to look at Heather. “Are you unhappy?”

Heather replied coolly, “I drove here. Do you want Gael to drive you, or are you coming with me?”

Kason grinned, stepped up, and wrapped her in his arms. “You came to get me yourself. No way I’m going with anyone else.”

Gael shot them a look and said, “I’ll get going then.”

“The car’s over there,” Heather said, turning to leave, but Kason tightened his hold around her waist, pulling her back into his

arms.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Don’t be mad, honey. I’m just sticking up for you,” Kason said.

Heather finally looked at him again. After all these years together, she actually knew him inside out.

When it came to business, Kason was every bit as merciless as Titus, maybe even colder.

Titus had softened up over the years, not as ruthless as he used to be, but Kason was still as cold-blooded as ever.

“What are you planning? Don’t do anything crazy,” Heather warned.

“Crazy? Come on, they took the initiative to ask for this,” Kason replied.

“So what exactly are you going to do?” Heather pressed.

“You’ll know soon enough. Let’s head home now,” Kason said.

It wasn’t until a month later, when Heather caught the Halinston financial headlines, that it finally hit her. She understood what Kason had really done.

“Ms. Lynch, those people downstairs are still causing a commotion, demanding to see you and Mr. Bradford. Security can’t get them to leave. Any instructions?” a staff member asked.

Heather bit her lip and said, “Did Mr. Bradford say anything?”

“He said to let them be,” the staff member replied.

Heather set down her pen and didn’t say a word.

Within a month, Kåson had devoured several established firms. The financial news was trending nonstop for two days.

The Halinston headlines weren’t just all about Titus anymore. Now, Kason’s name was right up there, too.

Seeing Heather stay silent, Charlotte spoke up, “Ms. Lynch, did you know Mr. Bradford was going to pull something like this? Isn’t this a bit over the top?”

Over the top? It was basically a hostile takeover.

Heather rubbed her temples and said, “Go tell them I’ll reach out myself. Ask them to leave, or we’ll have to call the police.”

Charlotte nodded. “Okay, Ms. Lynch. I’ll take care of it now.”

She headed downstairs and frowned at the disheveled men.

“Everyone, Ms. Lynch said she’ll reach out to you. Please leave now and don’t disrupt us, or we’ll have to call the police,” Charlotte said.

“Call the police? You’ve got some nerve! Looks like we’re the ones who should be calling the police!” one of the men snapped.

“Kason and Heather totally screwed us over. Now they’re coming in hot to snatch up our company. They’re ruthless! Tell them to come out and face us!” another man shouted.

“Yeah, tell them to come out! What, are they too scared to show their faces?” someone else yelled.

“Yeah, get Heather and Kason out here!”

Charlotte warned, “All of you, leave now, or…”

“Charlotte,” someone called out.

Charlotte turned and saw Gael heading her way.

“Gael, why did you come down?” Charlotte asked.

Gael gave her a nod. “Go on back upstairs. I’ve got this.”

Charlotte was more than happy to let him take over. She nodded and said, “Perfect, I’ll leave it to you. Thanks.”

With that, she practically bolted upstairs.

Gael adjusted his glasses and looked at the men. He said, “You guys haven’t forgotten, right? You were the ones who came to the Lynch Group, asking to work together. Any investment comes with risks. Mr. Bradford isn’t some kind of god who always wins and never loses money. He’s already done everything to keep the risk as low as possible, even agreeing to buy out all the companies. That’s already giving you a lifeline.”

“A lifeline? This isn’t a lifeline. It’s a dead end!” one of the men shouted.

“They’re doing this on purpose! They’re still pissed about how we made things hard for Heather and teased her back then, aren’t they?” another man yelled.

“We just joked around with her, it was all talk, we never crossed the line! Isn’t this a bit too ruthless?” someone else complained.

Gael beckoned them over with a wave.

They shot each other nervous looks and shuffled closer.

Chapter 307

“What’s wrong?” they asked.

“You guys remember Harborton…” Gael hinted.

At the mention of that place’s company, their expressions changed in a flash.

“Wait, are you saying that company in Harborton was also…” one of them stammered.

“So, maybe now you realize Mr. Bradford has already shown you mercy. At least for now, the Lynch Group is still willing to buy you out. But if you end up bankrupt…” Gael left the rest unsaid.

At those words, their faces drained of color. They looked genuinely terrified.

After exchanging anxious glances, they hurried away, looking utterly defeated.

Chiara had just stepped into the company and immediately caught sight of the commotion. She’d seen the headlines and, after her prenatal checkup, decided to come by and see for herself.

Gael adjusted his glasses and turned, spotting Chiara walking over, clearly pregnant.

“Chiara,” Gael greeted her.

Chiara nodded in response, then glanced back at the company entrance.

“Who were those guys? What’s going on?” she asked.

“Nothing to worry about. Are you here to meet Heather?” Gael asked.

“Is Heather in?” Chiara asked.

“Yes, she is,” Gael replied.

Charlotte spotted Chiara stepping out of the elevator, visibly pregnant, and hurried over.

“Chiara, hello. Did you come alone?” she asked.

Chiara shook her head and replied, “No, I came with the driver. He’s waiting for me downstairs.”

“Ms. Lynch is in her office. Let me get you some juice,” Charlotte offered.

“No need, just some water is fine. I’m watching my sugar intake these days,” Chiara replied.

“Got it,” Charlotte replied.

Heather was a bit surprised to see Chiara. Her brows knitted for a moment as she stood up to meet her.

“What brings you to the company? Where’s Titus?” Heather asked.

“It was just a blood draw today, nothing major, so I didn’t bother telling him,” Chiara replied.

Heather helped her sit down on the sofa and asked, “How did it go?”

“My blood sugar’s under control now, but I still have to watch it,” Chiara said.

“Alright,” Heather replied.

“I saw a few guys downstairs. Were they the owners of those companies?” Chiara asked.

Heather nodded. “Yeah, did they leave?”

Chapter 307

“They did, but God knows what Gael said to them. They scrambled away like they’d seen a ghost, looked absolutely ternille, Chiara said.

Heather didn’t even have to guess. Gael must’ve said something pretty intimidating to scare those guys off on fast

“The company’s doing great right now. I just don’t think we need to be so aggressive about this… Chiara said

“I know. This was all Kason’s doing. I didn’t agree with it at first, but he doesn’t really care what I think now. And since it’s not actually hurting the company, there’s no need for me to push back hard, Heather replied.

Chiara paused, her hand resting on her belly, and asked curiously, “But why is he doing this?”

Heather instinctively glanced at her, surprised by the question.

“What’s wrong?” Chiara continued, confused.

“For me?” Heather said.
