Chapter 311
Chapter 311
Heather stayed quiet, but Kason just smirked at her.
“What’s up? What are you so worried about?” Kason added.
Heather stared at him through the screen and said, “Will worrying change anything?”
Kason kept his gaze locked on her. “Just tell me what’s bothering you.”
She wasn’t about to spill. “It’s nothing. Got another call coming in. Bye.”
With that, she hung up the video call.
Charlotte, who was driving, glanced at the rearview mirror. “Ms. Lynch, Mr. Bradford doesn’t know you’re coming to see
him?”
“Isn’t the whole point of a surprise inspection to catch him off guard?” Heather replied.
Charlotte was at a loss for words for once, staying quiet for a long moment before finally speaking up, “Honestly, Ms. Lynch. this really doesn’t seem like something you’d do.”
Heather leaned back in her seat, ready to rest her eyes for a while. Traffic on this road was going to be a nightmare for the next hour or so.
But then her phone buzzed. It was a message from Kason.
Kason: [What you’re worried about won’t happen.]
Heather stared at the message for a long moment, and a faint smile appeared on her face. She didn’t reply, just closed her eyes and tried to rest.
Charlotte caught that subtle smile and thought to herself, ‘Looks like they seem to be a loving and real couple.
Before boarding, Heather sent Kason a message, told him she hadn’t slept well last night, and was planning to get some early rest tonight.
Kason didn’t reply. She figured he was probably busy.
By the time he saw her message and tried calling, her phone had already been turned off.
So he called the villa instead. Naturally, Greta picked up.
“Hello?” Greta answered.
“She’s already asleep?” Kason asked.
Greta covered for her and replied, “Yeah, she came downstairs this morning with dark circles under her eyes and even overslept. She had just eaten, taken a shower, and gone straight to bed. Should I wake her up for you?”
Kason didn’t want to disturb her. “No, that’s fine. Bye.”
But Greta suddenly added, “Don’t forget to bring back that photo album for me when you get home. It’s in the drawer in my room. Don’t let it slip your mind.”
Kason listened patiently to her instructions, just nodding absentmindedly,
“Got it,” he replied.

Chapter 311
Even though the flight was long, Heather actually slept well on the plane.
After the business dinner, Kason staggered out with Gael supporting him, clearly having had a bit too much to drink.
“Let me get the car,” Gael said.
Kason waved him off, pulled out a cigarette, and lit up. He held his coat in one hand and took a drag, tilting his head back to look at the sky as he slowly exhaled a cloud of smoke.
“Kason!”
Hearing someone call his name, Kason turned his head.
A woman with brown hair was running over, her face lit up with a bright smile. Without hesitation, she wrapped him up in a warm, enthusiastic hug.
“Kason, hello!” she exclaimed.
Kason arched an eyebrow, unable to place who she was for a moment. But as someone well-versed in romance, he knew better than to ask her name.
The woman looked up at him, eyes shining with excitement. “Kason, you said you’d reach out in the future. You didn’t forget about me, did you?”
Kason thought, ‘I promised it to many women. I’d honestly lost track.
Still, he kept up the friendly act and gently nudged her out of his arms.
“Of course,” he replied.
The woman’s smile turned even more sultry, her fingers tracing lazy circles on his shoulder. Her touch was all flirt and tease.
“So, how about going to my place tonight? My place or a hotel, whatever you want You’re just unforgettable, you know. Why don’t we have an amazing night?” she asked, her voice dripping with temptation.
That was when Gael came back. He didn’t interrupt, just watched, waiting for Kason’s decision.
Kason gave him a look, and after a moment, Gael stepped forward.
“Mr. Bradford, we’re running out of time. Maybe you should reschedule for another day,” Gael suggested.
The woman was unhappy when she heard that. She pouted, clutching Kason’s arm even tighter, clearly not willing to let him go that easily.
“Kason,” she called out.
Kason flashed her a polite smile and gently brushed her hand off his arm. “Sorry, I’ve really got something to handle. Rain check?” he said.
She wasn’t about to let him off that easily. She said, “Give me your number.”
Kason let out a low chuckle. Not wanting her to keep pestering him, he just gave her Gael’s number instead.
Gael was speechless, but kept a’ straight face and didn’t object.
The woman still looked a little unwilling to let go, clutching his number. “Kason, promise you’ll call me, okay?”
Kason just smiled and nodded.

Chapter 311
Once they were in the car, Gael glanced at the rearview mirror and asked, “How strange! That was your favorite type. Why are you still indifferent?”
Gael really knew him. After all, they’d grown up together in the same orphanage.
Kason loosened his tie. Every look, every word, every move from that woman had been pure seduction.
After all that drinking, saying he didn’t feel a thing would be a total lie.
Just a physical reaction, not about her at all.
“Just lost interest, out of nowhere,” Kason muttered.
Gael shot him a look in the rearview mirror and asked, “Worried Heather’s gonna catch wind of this?”
Kason just arched a brow, like Gael had cracked a joke.
“If we were back in Halinston, maybe I’d care about the hassle. But this is Mieashy. What do I have to be afraid of?” Kason replied, a hint of indifference in his voice.
“Then why didn’t you just take her home?” Gael came right out and asked.
Kason turned to look out the window, rubbing his temples. He replied, “Haven’t drunk this much in ages. Got a bit of a headache. Seriously, just not interested.”
Gael let the topic drop and asked, “Where to now?”
Kason paused, then said, “Let’s just go home. Greta asked me to bring her photo album back. Don’t forget.”
“Okay.”
Halfway through the drive, Gael’s phone kept blowing up with notifications.
He didn’t even have to look. Obviously, it was that woman from before.
When they finally stopped, Gael pulled out his phone and checked. His screen was flooded with seductive selfies from her. all trying to reel him in.
Kason slung an arm around Gael’s shoulder, glanced at the screen, and let out a low chuckle. “She’s got a killer body. Tempted?”
Gael just deleted the photos and blocked her right away. Honestly, those pictures were definitely something else.
What
guy
wouldn’t have some kind of reaction to that?
It was like when you’re out and spot a good-looking guy or girl, you could not help but sneak another look.
“Not interested,” Gael replied dryly.
Kason arched a brow. “Anyone I’ve hooked up with is top-shelf.”
Gael shrugged off his arm, voice cool. “If you’ve had her, odds are someone else has too. Not my style, too tainted.”
Kason just laughed and said, “Of course you’d say that. Didn’t you already claim the purest one and stash her away for yourself?”
At that, Gael’s expression finally softened. He shot Kason a cold look, turned on his heel, and got back in the car.
Kason let out a soft scoff and headed into the villa.
Chapter 311
Even when Kason wasn’t around, the staff kept working. After all, they got paid by the month.
But as soon as he walked in today, he spotted a pair of high heels by the door. He squinted, giving them a long, suspicious
look.
His mind started running through the women he’d brought here before. ‘Did one of them hear I was back and eagerly show up at my home?’ he thought.
“Mr. Bradford, hello,” the maid greeted him.
She hurried over, crouched down, and helped him slip off his shoes and put on his slippers.
Kason was used to being waited on like this. “Who is here?”
