When She Ended It With Divorce (Chiara and Titus) novel Chapter 50

Chapter 50

Chiara kept her cool, her voice steady. She asked, “So, Ms. Jensen, I’m curious. Why does Eunice have such a problem with you? Did you do something to make her feel that way?”

Elaine bit her lip, looking all wronged, but still insisted, “I didn’t do anything.”

But Eunice suddenly cut in, “I’ve met shameless people before, but never anyone this outrageously shameless. Chiara, you’re absolutely right. Just touching someone like her would dirty my hands. She’s seriously not

worth it.”

Chiara glanced at Eunice and nodded seriously. “Yeah.”

Jeffrey, watching from the sidelines, couldn’t help but smile, his eyes lingering on Chiara.

Elaine’s face went from pale to flushed with anger, but she had no choice but to cling to Titus. She stepped forward and tugged at his arm.

Elaine whimpered, “Titus, I swear I didn’t do anything. They just attacked me out of nowhere. I have no idea why…”

Eunice couldn’t hold back anymore. She pointed at Elaine and snapped, “Bitch, quit acting innocent. Don’t you know exactly why you got hit? Isn’t it because you shamelessly wrecked someone’s family and went after a married man?”

Elaine was fuming inside, but she bit it back and stuck to her act, even slipping to hide behind Titus.

Elaine whimpered, “Titus…”

Titus shot her a cold, emotionless look that sent a chill down Elaine’s spine.

“Paul, take her to the hospital,” Titus ordered.

Paul nodded and stepped forward, speaking in a low voice. “Ms. Jensen, let me take you to the hospital.”

Elaine was fuming inside, but Paul leaned in and whispered a reminder.

“Ms. Jensen, you really have to swallow this today. One of them is the Murphy family’s heiress, and the other is Mrs. Goodman. You’re just making things hard for Mr. Goodman,” Paul said.

Elaine just felt even more pissed-none of that comfort worked on her. For real, she couldn’t accept this at all. She thought, ‘Why am I always the one getting screwed over?’

“But they hurt my face!” Elaine protested.

Titus stared at her for a moment, his gaze cold and unreadable. After a long silence, he finally spoke, “I won’t let you end up with any scars,” Titus said.

Chiara felt a pang in her chest as she heard Titus comforting another woman.

Eunice’s face clouded over. “Titus, do you have any shame at all? Comforting some other woman right in front of your wife? You don’t deserve Chiara.

Deciding to divorce you is the smartest thing she’s ever done. She should’ve dumped you ages ago. You two scumbags just deserve each other!”

“Eunice…” Chiara said.

Titus’s face instantly darkened, his eyes turning cold and dangerous as he glared at Eunice.

He curled his lips into a cold smirk, his voice icy. “Ms. Murphy, are you so sure that I won’t do anything to you?”

Eunice was about to say something else, but Chiara stopped her. She shot Titus a cold, deadpan look.

“So, tell me, was Eunice wrong?” Chiara pressed.

Titus’s stare turned ice-cold, fixing on her like he wanted to burn a hole right through.

Chiara went on, “Honestly, I think Eunice was right. If Ms. Jensen means that much to you, I’m totally fine with stepping aside and letting you two be happy together.”

Right there and then, Chiara was just over it. All this drama felt pointless, especially when she caught sight of Elaine’s shocked, secretly thrilled face.

Her gaze lingered on the two of them for a moment and then said, “Look at you both-always chasing a thrill, huh? No wonder you love sneaking around like it’s your favorite game.”

With Chiara’s sarcasm hanging in the air, the atmosphere became so tense that it was almost unbearable.

Titus’s icy, piercing gaze looked like it could burn straight through Chiara.

Just then, Jeffrey let out a quiet, totally inappropriate chuckle.

Eunice shot him a weird look, and Chiara’s eyes flashed briefly. When she cooled off, she was just so over it— none of this was worth her time anymore.

“Eunice, let’s go,” Chiara said.

Eunice nodded. “Sure. I’ve wanted out of here forever. Seriously, even the air here feels toxic.”

Chiara nodded and reached out to pull Eunice’s hand, but Eunice suddenly let out a cry of pain.

Eunice yelped.

Chiara jumped and whipped around. “What’s wrong?”

Eunice’s eyes were already red as she stared at her hand-her whole middle fingernail had bent all the way back, and the finger was swollen, looking seriously hurt.

Even Eunice was stunned. She’d always been the pampered heiress, never suffered pain or humiliation like

this before. Tears burst from her eyes instantly.

“Chiara, I can’t move my finger. It hurts so much,” Eunice whimpered.

Chiara’s expression instantly grew cold, her lips tightening as she whipped her attention to Elaine, whom Paul was just about to lead away.

“Stop there!” Chiara demanded.

Paul shrank back, awkwardly letting go and choosing to step aside-no way was he about to get pulled into

that mess.

Chiara stepped up, facing both of them. Elaine looked uneasy, instinctively inching closer to Titus, clearly seeking his protection.

Elaine stammered, “Ms. Lynch, what are you trying to-”

Chiara swung her hand and slapped Elaine hard across the face. Elaine couldn’t even steady herself, stumbling backward and landing flat on the floor.

Elaine gaped at her, completely stunned. “You… You actually just slapped me?”

But Chiara clearly wasn’t done. She leaned in, ready to slap Elaine again, but someone caught her wrist in a firm grip.

Chiara knew exactly who it was, but she didn’t even bother to look up. Her eyes stayed locked on Elaine, cold and unyielding.

Elaine shivered under that icy stare, but once she realized Chiara had been stopped, she smirked smugly, covering her face and throwing Chiara a taunting look.

Chiara ignored her provocation and said coldly, “Let go of me.”

Titus’s face was sullen, his voice low and controlled. “What are you trying to pull?”

Chiara finally turned to him, her tone ice-cold and unwavering. “Titus, for the last time, let go of me!”

Titus’s expression grew ever darker, his grip tightening, barely restraining the fury simmering inside.

Suddenly, Chiara’s lips curled coldly. Before anyone could react, she whipped her free hand across his face with a sharp slap.

Elaine let out a startled yelp, too shocked to say anything else. Eunice was frozen in place, stupefied, just staring at Chiara in disbelief.

Even Jeffrey fell silent for a split second, his eyes flickering between Chiara and Titus,
