"What's your problem? You almost spilled the coffee I made for Lawrence!"
Catherine stopped in her tracks. Why was there a girl's voice in Lawrence's office? She leaned closer and peeked through the barely open door. Inside, a young woman in a tight dress, makeup perfectly done, stood with her hands on her hips and glared at a cleaner.
The cleaner, clutching a rag, looked nervous and stammered, "I was just here to wipe the desk."
"Clean all you want, but who said you could touch Lawrence's coffee mug? I brewed that coffee just for him with special beans," Bonnie said, her voice rising.
The cleaner flinched and apologized in a hurry. "Sorry, Bonnie. I didn't mean to."
"If you spill this coffee, you couldn't pay for it even with a month's salary," Bonnie snapped. Then, noticing someone at the door, she narrowed her eyes. "Who's out there?"
Catherine felt her anger rising. What was this overbearing assistant doing in her husband's office? And since when did she have the right to make coffee for Lawrence? What exactly was she up to?
Without a word, Catherine pushed the door open and walked in. She barely looked at Bonnie before turning to the cleaner. "Could you step outside for a minute?"
The cleaner shot Catherine a grateful glance, nodded, and quickly slipped out, closing the door behind her.
Now it was just Catherine and Bonnie.
Bonnie ran her eyes over Catherine, taking in her sharp suit, her confident vibe, and a face so stunning it made Bonnie seethe with jealousy.
"So what?" Catherine stepped closer, her eyes cold. "You're supposed to be an assistant, but instead of working, you sit around dreaming about your boss and pushing other employees around. Don't you have any shame?"
Bonnie's temper flared. She'd already had a rough day and now this woman was calling her out. "Who do you think you are, coming in here and lecturing me? So what if I like Lawrence? It's none of your—"
A sharp slap rang out.
Bonnie's head snapped to the side. She grabbed her cheek and stared at Catherine, completely stunned. "You hit me?"
Catherine brushed her hands together, looking unbothered. "Let me introduce myself. I'm Catherine. Lawrence is my husband. And this is my father's company." She paused, letting it sink in. "You just stood here and bragged about liking my husband right in front of me. Who else would I hit?"

Im stiĺl waiting for the update, thank you....
I’m glad I hung in there for all 368 chapters. This was a really good story!...
They are on a base. Alice and Shirley need to be approved and sponsored to enter. What are they worried for? Can random people just come on base?...
I’m glad the tech team has a conscience. I was also thinking the same thing about the team being the one to build it because Shirley doesn’t code anything....
This hearing is being drug out like one in real life....
How does Shirley think she can dismiss and call witnesses at will in the courtroom, telling Amy that she could leave now?...
The audacity. She just insulted his deceased wife and their child, but she wants justice? 🤣🤣...
This is the most delusional couple. Making up slights against themselves from people who couldn’t care less. Twisting everything into their own narrative of what they think and feel....
Finally. It’s all out there....
I hope he remembers to stop access to anything Alice currently has the rights to take....
