After the Fall A Leap into a Stranger's Arms novel Chapter 230

Catherine told her to go ahead and have dinner with the car owner, reassuring her that they were already on their way.

Nettie felt a wave of gratitude for the man’s kindness. If he’d insisted on compensation, she would have lost half her down payment, no question.

She knocked on the door of the private dining room, took a breath, and stepped inside. Under the soft lighting sat a man in a dark blue suit. He was the very same guy from the accident.

Nettie put on her best polite smile. “Hi, it’s nice to see you again.”

“The name’s Nicol,” he said, raising an eyebrow as he introduced himself.

“Nettie.” She sat across from him and reached out for a handshake.

He took her hand for a quick shake.

“Did you get your car in for repairs?” he asked.

“Yeah, I dropped it off at the dealership. What about yours...” Nettie hesitated, curiosity getting the better of her.

“It’s getting fixed at the original manufacturer,” Nicol replied, his eyes narrowing just a bit.

Nettie swallowed hard. That definitely meant it wasn’t a domestic car. The repair costs alone would be outrageous.

“So, Nicol, order whatever you like tonight. Seriously, anything,” Nettie said, quickly sliding the menu over to him. She just wanted to get this dinner over with and hope she’d never have to see him again.

Nicol took the menu and started looking it over. Nettie picked up her own, thinking that even if he ordered every single dish, she could handle it.

But he didn’t go overboard. He picked three dishes, then handed the menu back. “Your turn.”

Just then, Nettie’s phone buzzed. It was a message from Catherine—they’d arrived and were waiting in the main hall.
