Betrayed and Dumped She Rose Stronger Than Ever novel Chapter 174

Rebecca flinched, her heart jumping into her throat when she realized it was Bruce gripping her arm. The shock melted into anger.

“Let go,” she said, her voice cold and sharp.

Bruce’s chest tightened. He was thrown off by how harsh she sounded. He took a deep breath, trying to keep his cool.

“Who was that guy you had dinner with? Is he your new boyfriend?”

Rebecca rolled her eyes and tried to pull away, but Bruce was stronger and she couldn’t break free.

“That’s none of your business,” she snapped, still struggling.

Bruce let out a bitter, mocking laugh.

“Well, aren’t you impressive? First Stephen, and now some random pretty boy. You just keep collecting men to get back at me, huh?”

Rebecca stared at him, completely exasperated.

“Don’t flatter yourself. I’m honestly not doing anything because of you.”

“Oh really? So it’s just a coincidence that you were leaving with that guy the second I showed up? You wanted me to see, didn’t you?”

Rebecca actually laughed, the sound sharp and disbelieving.

“Bruce, since when did you get so full of yourself? If you’re right, then everyone in that restaurant is just hoping to bump into you. Seriously, get over yourself.”

Bruce was stunned into silence. His face turned darker by the second.

She used to love him more than anything, and now she was telling him to get over himself. The sting of that shift was something only Bruce could feel.

“Rebecca, come on. I know you’re not really over me.”

Rebecca closed her eyes, letting out a slow breath.

“You know me, Bruce. I don’t play games with my feelings.”

Bruce pressed his lips together.

“Then when are you coming back to me?”

She was so tired. She just wanted him to disappear.

Rebecca’s jaw tightened.

“Bruce, are you seriously trying to date both of us? Aren’t you worried your precious Sonja will find out and get her heart broken?”

“Thanks, Wayne. Got it.”

As soon as Wayne left, she noticed Greg glancing over at her. Rebecca smiled to herself and pulled out the R&D proposal, laying it on her desk.

To keep things natural, she worked for a while before getting up and heading to the restroom.

Once she was gone, Justin and Cindy, who sat near her office, also left. The whole executive suite was suddenly empty.

In the restroom, Rebecca pulled up the live feed on her phone. The main office camera was down because of the network outage, but she’d hidden a tiny camera in her office just in case.

If Greg tried anything, she’d see it all.

Sure enough, five minutes later, Greg slipped into her office. The proposal was right on her desk.

He snatched it up, glancing around the empty room. Satisfied no one was there, he flipped it open to double-check.

Detailed charts, diagrams, everything was there. This was the real thing.

Five million. Five million… It was almost his.

He couldn’t stop himself from grinning. With the proposal clutched in his hands, his heart pounded, wild with anticipation.
