“Bruce and I worked so hard to get the automatic interest rate curve model, but you just swooped in and took it from us using your connections with Dr. Palmer and Stephen. You seriously have no shame.”

Rebecca let out a cold laugh. “Sonja, you’re really embarrassing yourself right now.”

Then she turned to Bruce. “Mr. Lamont, maybe you should teach your girlfriend some business manners. She’s making a scene in front of everyone.”

Bruce’s eyes locked onto hers, dark and sharp. He gave a little scoff. “Ms. Harper, you really are quick with words. I guess I never really saw you clearly before.”

The softness she used to have was nowhere to be found. Now, Rebecca was all edges and armor.

Bruce even started to wonder if the girl in front of him was the same Rebecca he used to know, or just someone who looked like her.

Rebecca felt this whole situation ridiculous.
