Judy was stressing over what to get as a gift. Rebecca, ever practical, suggested things like a nice pen, a mechanical keyboard, or maybe a new mouse. Cindy was having none of it. She shot Judy a sly look and asked, “Do you still have a crush on him or not?”
Judy blinked, then nodded. “I do.”
“Then trust me on this. You should get him that.” Cindy’s eyes pointed to a display for a popular men’s underwear brand.
Judy went bright red. She stammered, “Isn’t that a little too much? It feels… really forward.”
Cindy snapped her fingers. “That’s the point. Listen, tech guys might look all buttoned up and serious, but underneath, they’re not as innocent as they seem. You’ve been way too subtle before. From now on, you have to be bold, direct, even more daring than he is.”
Judy nodded slowly, thinking it over. “You know, that actually makes sense.”
Rebecca listened to them, her lips twitching. She couldn’t believe how bold they were.
Rebecca crossed her arms and shot Cindy a teasing look. “And how would you know that about tech guys? Don’t tell me you’re speaking from personal experience.”
Judy caught on too. “Yeah, you’ve never even dated anyone. How do you know all this?”
Cindy was stuck for a second. She rubbed her nose and gave a sheepish grin. “You don’t have to try everything to know about it. The internet is full of advice. A few scrolls, and you’ll know more than you ever wanted.”
Rebecca just shook her head, sighing. “Please don’t lead her astray.”
Recently, Joan had heard Cindy and Rebecca were getting tight, maybe even best friends, though she hadn’t believed it until now. Seeing them shopping together, playfully teasing each other, Joan had to admit they were genuinely close.
Cindy frowned, clearly seeing through Joan’s attempt to be friendly.
Joan’s smile faltered for a second, but she quickly explained herself. “The family banquet is coming up. I’m here to get Ben some decent clothes. Apparently, the guests will all be super important, and I can’t let Ben embarrass the Duncan family.”
She was talking to Cindy, but her eyes kept flicking to Rebecca, almost like she was showing off.
Rebecca just raised an eyebrow, her face calm, acting like she couldn’t care less about Joan’s little display.

The ending seems abrupt. Is it like a cliffhanger? I was expecting more. A lot of questions are unanswered....
Why is the story tagged as complete when I think the chapters are incomplete and it hasn’t ended yet?...
Can't wait for the next update! 😍...
Honestly, Rebecca's mother needs to be called out for pettiness. At the same time, Rebecca needs to explain her work situation to her mother....
