Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 664

The name "Bran" made Irene freeze for a fleeting moment.

But in the next second, she regained her composure, her expression cool as she replied, "I'm not going. You go ahead."

Nathan assumed she was still hung up on her past with Bran and quickly tried to persuade her. "Irene, think about it this way—if something goes wrong with Lambert, at least there's Bran. I'm not saying you can't find someone else, but if you let these two slip away, it’ll be hard to find men of their caliber later. Bran came straight to Harper Corporation as soon as he arrived in the country—it must be because of you."

Nathan was practically pleading with her, his words earnest.

At this point, he still had no idea that his previous scheme had failed.

Nor did he know that Lambert was already keeping a close eye on him.

Right now, he was too busy enthusiastically pushing his agenda, hoping Irene would agree.

Admittedly, his words did have some effect.

Irene considered it and realized there was some truth to what he said. She wasn’t planning to give up on Lambert—she already had a follow-up strategy in mind. But what if? What if things didn’t go as planned? Was she really going to stake everything on Lambert and no one else?

The thought of Bran heading straight to Harper Corporation upon his return stirred something in her.

Could it be… that he regretted divorcing her after all?

Nathan noticed his sister’s hesitation and pressed on eagerly. "It’s just acting as a guide, nothing more. Even if it’s just a professional courtesy, it wouldn’t look good if we didn’t show the heir of the Moore Family around while he’s here, right?"

Irene met her brother’s hopeful gaze.

After a long pause, she finally sighed, feigning reluctance. "Fine."

Nathan's face immediately lit up with joy.

Gazing at his younger sister with even more affection in his eyes, he didn't hesitate to shower her with brotherly love. "Are you doing all right for money these days?" he asked warmly. "If you're running short, your big brother's got you covered."

Irene burst into laughter.

With an exasperated shake of her head, she replied, "Of course I'm fine—even if I weren't, Dad would take care of it. Save your money for Sister Flora. I'm looking forward to meeting my little nephew soon!"

Nathan beamed at her words. "I'll take that as your blessing," he said cheerfully.

Though he and Flora weren't married yet, he didn't dare tie the knot without his mother's approval. After all, she was just a woman—it wouldn't be worth alienating his mother over Flora. The position was his regardless; all he had to do was wait patiently.

Once he inherited the Harper Group, there would be plenty of time to elevate Flora's status properly.

...

Meanwhile, Georgia had finally managed to placate Gilbert.

To her relief, he had stopped threatening to leave.

Just as she was about to head to the kitchen to cook him a meal—hoping to further cement their reconciliation—her phone suddenly rang. Georgia walked over and frowned at the unfamiliar number flashing on the screen.

After a moment's hesitation, she answered cautiously. "Hello, who is this?"

"Kendra." The icy voice coming through the receiver sent a chill down Georgia's spine, freezing her in place from head to toe.

Her brows knitted together. "Kendra? Why are you calling me?" she demanded, her mind racing with the possibility that Kendra had uncovered something.

For instance, if she had found out about what happened between Georgia and Ariana, she might have come to confront her.

After all, while these matters weren’t exactly public knowledge, a little digging would reveal everything… A wave of panic surged through her. She had always been afraid of her elder sister—that instinctive fear was suffocating.

"What did you call me here to discuss about Irene?" Georgia cut straight to the point.

Kendra's expression remained frosty.

She cast an indifferent glance at Georgia before replying, "You've been seeing Irene quite often lately."

Georgia's face instantly paled.

Kendra continued, her tone eerily calm, as if discussing something as trivial as the weather, "What are you trying to do? Reconnect with her?" There was no anger in her voice, no discernible emotion—just detached curiosity.

But Georgia's eyes welled up instantly.

Biting her lip, she whispered, "Can't you even let me have the chance to see my own daughter? I just want to meet her. You don’t have to worry—I won’t tell her the truth... I won’t take her away from you."

Of course, reclaiming Irene as her own was out of the question.

Not only was the Harper family far more influential than the White family, but if Gilbert ever found out—what would she do then?

So no, she could never acknowledge her.

Yet Kendra seemed to see right through Georgia’s thoughts. Gazing at her tearful face, her own expression remained unreadable. "Whether you take her away or not—I don’t care. If you want to reclaim her, I won’t stop you. But if you don’t, then I expect you to cut all ties with her from now on. Understood?"

She had always known Irene was sharp—much like Georgia in her youth.

And given Irene’s obvious interest in Lambert, her motives for getting close to Georgia were anything but innocent. Kendra couldn’t let this continue.

Irene was her daughter, but Ariana was her daughter too.

And Ariana—the one she owed far, far more.
