Ariana and Lambert returned home in the middle of the night. Ariana was deeply worried about their children, especially their youngest daughter, who was not yet a month old and already experiencing health issues. This was a permanent scar in her heart.
So, after waking up, Ariana insisted on returning home. However, due to her severe anemia, Lambert firmly insisted that Ariana stay in the hospital for an additional two days before allowing her to return.
On the way back, Lambert noticed Ariana's evident anxiety, and his eyes were hard to read. He spoke, "Don't worry. While we were away these past few days, I had the children stay with Grandma." After all, she is his biological daughter, and Lambert couldn't ignore that. He was somewhat uneasy about leaving them under the care of housekeepers, so he contacted the family home to have Grandma take care of them temporarily.
Ariana nodded at his words, pulling the corners of her mouth into a wry smile, "I know, but I still can't help worrying."
Lambert kissed Ariana's forehead and said, "Don't worry, everything's fine."
Because they were returning today, the family home had already sent the children back. Despite his desire to spend time alone with Ariana, there wasn't much he could do. There were simply too many children.
Honestly, it was at times like this that Lambert deeply regretted having children. He underestimated the impact they would have on Ariana. He had assumed Ariana would feel the same as he did, but as each child was born, he realized that Ariana's attention toward them exceeded even her attention toward him, which left him feeling quite agitated.
Unable to say anything, he could only swallow his frustration silently.
...
Inside the villa.
The nanny was attentively taking care of Grace. Grace was obedient and sweet-natured, spending most of her time sleeping. When she wasn't sleeping, she would widen her eyes and curiously observe her surroundings. She rarely cried, unless she was hungry or needed a diaper change.
Because of this, the nanny and the childcare workers were quite fond of her.
At that moment, the door was quietly pushed open.
The nanny turned around to see it was the young master, Carson. She was momentarily taken aback, then offered a small smile and softly advised, "Sir, Miss is asleep. Please come and play with her later."
Just then, another childcare worker walked in carrying a bottle of milk powder.
Upon seeing Carson, she affectionately greeted him as young master.
Carson glanced at them and said, "I'll just sit here and watch my little sister."
The childcare worker didn't see a problem with this, so she nodded and said, "Alright, but young master, please don't make any noise, or else the Fourth Miss might wake up." She spoke gently, her words seemed harmless, but to Carson, they stung.
His long eyelashes trembled, and his expression darkened briefly. He nodded and said, "I understand."
So, Carson really did sit quietly beside them, gazing eagerly at his little sister.
The childcare worker and the nanny assumed it was just a brother's curiosity about his sister.
Since Carson had no particular reaction, they let him be. They failed to notice the dislike and contempt in Carson's eyes towards his sister. Carson sat there for about ten minutes. At that moment, the babysitter checked on Grace before telling the nanny that she was going to the restroom.
The nanny nodded to show her understanding.
Once the babysitter left, Carson's eyes flickered. He then turned his head and smiled at the nanny, saying, "Auntie, could you check the baby formula for my sister, please?"
The nanny was slightly taken aback. "Why?"
Carson replied, "Because it must be cold by now, and my sister is not in good health. She can't drink cold formula. She'll wake up soon, so you should prepare a new bottle for her."
