Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 731

"What are you doing?" A sharp voice rang out, startling Carson so much that he immediately let go.

Lucian rushed over just as Grace woke up.

A faint mark was left on Grace’s neck from Carson’s grip, and the moment she felt the pain, she burst into loud, choking sobs. Her face turned bright red from crying, her tiny body trembling as if she might pass out at any second. Lucian hurriedly checked on her, clumsily trying to soothe his little sister, his eyes filled with helpless panic.

When Carson saw it was his eldest brother, his initial fear quickly faded.

But the sight of his usually doting brother fussing over that wretched little sister made his eyes burn with resentment. "I hate her!" he shouted, his voice cracking.

Lucian frowned.

He turned to Carson, his gaze stern. "Mom and Dad will be back soon. If they see this, Dad will skin you alive. Even if you don’t like her, you can’t just strangle her! Don’t you know how fragile she is?"

Carson’s eyes welled up. "Why are you taking her side now? She’s a little demon, stealing everyone who cares about me! I hate her! I don’t want her!"

Just then, the nanny returned with a bottle of milk.

She had heard the fourth young miss’s cries from downstairs and hurried up.

When she arrived, she found the third young master with reddened eyes and the eldest young master looking grave. Assuming the little boy had accidentally woken his sister, who was now crying from lack of sleep, and that the eldest was scolding him for it, she didn’t think much of it.

Instead, she quickly stepped forward, smiling at Lucian. "Young Master, let me take care of the little miss."

Lucian hesitated but finally handed his sister over to the nanny.

Thanks to Lucian's timely intervention and Carson's young age—his small hands lacking significant strength—the choking hadn't been severe. However, the problem was that Grace was just an infant, a frail and unhealthy one at that. Thus, even that faint trace of redness on her neck refused to fade.

The nanny immediately noticed the suspicious red mark on the young miss's neck...

She turned her head instinctively, her gaze landing on Lucian and Carson.

Lucian remained silent, his lips pressed tightly together.

Carson, on the other hand, was slowly regaining his composure. He took a fearful step back but stubbornly lifted his chin, showing not a hint of guilt. And why should he? In his mind, he had done the right thing. He wanted to send this demonic little sister back to the heavens, to let her be reborn into another family with different parents.

So he wasn’t wrong.

The nanny hesitated for a moment but said nothing. Instead, she lowered her head and resumed soothing the baby.

She was just a nanny, after all—this wasn’t the time to speak out of turn. Even if she suspected the young masters might be responsible, they were still children. If she accused them and the family found out, they might assume she was deliberately framing them.

So she chose silence.

Just as the atmosphere grew slightly awkward, the sound of a car pulling up came from outside. Lucian’s brow twitched, a flicker of surprise flashing in his eyes, followed by a trace of confusion and conflict. As for the nanny, her face paled briefly before she quickly composed herself. She glanced down at the gradually calming infant and sighed deeply in her heart.
